Funny you mention marketing for ZZZ, I recently went to Japan end of May, and there's this bigass billboard right in the middle of Akihabara for it. Maybe its just a lack of marketing in the west.
ZZZ looks amazing, now Grace's thing about machines as children i've seen it before, in arknoghts from operator Eunectes, although her design I mean colors and weapon of choice remind me of another operator, Stainless. Funnily enough both operators are mechanics. Yes Arknights is the ony gacha I play.
Yes. Slavic mythology is not as “developed” as, say, Greek. There are not many historical sources left, some historians still consider certain gods as pseudo-mythological, e.g. Lada, goddess of Spring and marriage (there’s a car brand named Lada) and Belobog, god of good fortune and happiness. Czernobog (black god) is not considered as such. Like, he actually exists in mythology, proven.
Hey you can play on a phone. Just play until you unlock daily commission and just do those so when you actually play the game you can will have a lot of resources to wish for characters and enjoy story with those characters
Their advertising: Shit ton of ads (still not nearly as bad as that natasha ad for HSR), they sponsored a youtuber to make a video and it got 27M views and they have that pre release livestream on the 28th
Grace's whole shtick is that she acts as a sort of "mother" to her machines. Like, literally. One of the MSQ in the beta literally had her give her machines dating advice
As the other person mentioned this is not a localization issue. The writers just chose “child” instead of “baby”. Personally I don’t think it’s weird unless you make it weird.
I am from 3 weeks in the future the child thing gets worse cause machines can have full sentience emotions and all if they pass a thing called the forbidden fruit test and most of belobog's machines made by grace have passed said test and she calls them her children but her motive is if we treat the machines as nice as we treated other people maybe they would be more willing to brave the hollows for us without being upset she cares about machines in the same way she does people cause these machines will save people from having to traverse the hollow
Wonder if he'll react to the pre register live stream this Friday like the Genshin and Star rail live stream. Even if he us the last one to see it, I don't mind waiting
The child thing is a lost in translation type thing, not the first eastern form of media I've seen with things that aren't children being called children.
Unfortunately the translated lines from JP in this trailer suffered from lack of localization. For example, in Asian culture we sometimes use the terms big sis/bro + name(optional/depends on the scenario) even when they’re not related to address someone of higher seniority (seniority hierarchy plays a big part in Asian social interactions among other things), those terms aren’t exclusive to family members here. So if you don’t localize those terms when translating over to the west, it just sounds weird and doesn’t work in English conversation norms. Another example is when Grace uses the term “Child” in the trailer, which is directly translated term from the JP word “Ko/子” which can mean a “child” or “little one” or “little thing” or “kid” (an endearing term). The context here is that Grace seems to look at the corrupted machines in a curious and endearing way, which is why she refers to them as “Ko” in JP. But when the nuances are lost in translation, you end up with Grace weirdly calling monster machines a “child” instead of a “little one”.
As far as i read that Grace was raised as an adopted olderish sister to Koleda since her parents disappeared they effectively are sisters in all but blood relations
@@legendofswords Thanks for the info, although I wasn’t debating whether or not those two are family. I was talking about why some terms may sound weird when used in EN without a little bit of localizing due to the cultural differences.
From what I read on reddit, apparently the Belobog thing was a coincidence. The Zenless devs didn't know it was already in Star Rail.
thats crazy coincidence. kinda cool
Yeah, they like to use similar reference material
ZZZ started developing since 2020 according to the interview. So both zzz and Starrail developed at the same time. It's funny that both use belobog.
@@KuribPlaysmany devs in both game dev teams came from hi3. so maybe they just liked the belobog name.
Hoyo's game devs when mythological names:
I love that her weapon is a really fancy nail gun
Even though a nail gun would actually make a pretty poor weapon
Makeshift construction equipment turned lethal weapon has been a favourite trope of mine since Dead Space.
It looks like they crossed a Vector with a Nail Gun
"YOU CANT SAY THAT!"

Dont get the whole freaking out over the child thing. It is a very common trope for mechanics to refer to machines as children or babies.

Your honor, my client doesn’t know what she is saying! 😂
I don't think the game needs "marketing" when they hit 40M pre-regs, that's 3x more than HSR had.
The game has been up for pre registration since CBT1
lol she's like mei from bnha. mei calls her experiments babies
Or Hange with the titans lmao
@@cry-o1436 Imagine if all three of them were to meet up. They would be MENACES. lol
Its like Hange Zoe and Winry Rockbell had a baby, she's perfect!
Belobog ("white god") is a hypothesized slavic deity and counterpart to Chernobog, the black god.
Far as I remember anyway.

Happy character Birthday Cyyu~ Should Cyno's birthday also count as an excuse to give you extra presents?
I won’t be able to play Zenless, Honkai, or Genshin for like- a year- saving up for a gaming PC is hard. 😭 ❤
But it's totally worth it. Literally hundreds of hours of gameplay! I got my gaming pc when Inazuma first dropped, and it was well worth the wait.

Localization guy forgot you can call machines and cars "baby" or "puppy"
Grace's whole shtick is that she acts as a sort of "mother" to her machines. Like, literally. One of the MSQ in the beta literally had her give her machines dating advice

Nah. She is just crazy. Her character quest is about this.
unless your vocabulary database was a baby ass, you're gonna have a hard time with those especially with the lack of context behind it. 😅
I agree that Grace is like Lisa, but design wise she resembles Helia a lot more from Honkai Impact
She just really gives off Hange vibes from AOT for me lol
I get a feeling the "child" thing might be a small contextual mistranslation, and its actually "little one" in origin.

Most of the promotion is done through the website and TH-cam's comunity tab, probably on X as well.
It's done through in world news articles.

Are you going to react to Wuthering Waves new trailer?
I think he already stopped playing
He only reacts to hoyoverse sadly
I don't think he's streaming Wuwa anymore unless they sponsor him

blud has not seen big booty billy
Damn, I love women...
Do rina trailer cy yu😂😂
Gonna uninstall genshin for zzz
ZZZ has the worst music of all Hoyo game
Trailer music sure, but the in game music is really good.
