Don't have a leaky tank, but made it to the end of the video. Saw the inerior vent spring you were missing in the cabin at 21:16. I was feelin' for you at about that point in the video. Been there myself on many types of projects where a razor knife or hammer are the only tools left to consider. As bad as I felt for you, you made me laugh a few times, with your comments, when you were hating life. Great sound track in the background BTW. Thanks for the entertainment and the education...

Yeah, after I quit shooting video, there the spring was easy to find. Younger eyes would have pick it up sooner. ! “TH-cam” video editor had a little problem with my unintentional background music and called out the copyright on Fleetwood Mac’s music ! The editor let me slide. In the future I will have to Tuen the car stereo down…. Thanks for watching. Jim

Jim, I was feeling your frustration along the way. With a bad/old set of eyes I've found a magnet works wonders for finding small parts dropped on the ground (or in your case cabin carpet). I've about worn out my Harbor Freight one and I am thinking about buying a new one (about six dollars). Just like you I've found a second set of hands incredibly helpful in times of stress and turmoil. Looking forward to seeing you safely up in the air again. Thanks for Sharing! 🙂

Even though I didn’t like the job, it was educational. And now, when I replace the other one this fall, I will know better how to go about it. Magnets are good, and an extra pair of hands are a necessity. Thanks again. Jim

Eagle fuel cells and drains are best products, not to mention their service.

Definitely think twice about replacing fuel tanks.

painful... steel tanks for me please..The pain ranges from mild discomfort to severe pain. The condition is a part of a spectrum of diseases known as painful bladder syndrome. 😂

A poor design by Cessna. I think it was the bean counters that caused this. Replacing these tanks has always has been a problem. Monarch tanks worked but I don't think they are in business anymore of making tanks. These tanks, rubber, have killed people by accumulating water in their nooks and crannies. I think the FAA would consider this a major repair. This means paperwork which you might consider asking an IA in your area about. In this day of litigation and insurance retirements just a logbook entry is sketchy. I started working on airplanes in 1965 and still do some work and I still have an AP/IA but times have really changed.

It’s funny, Cessna went back to charging extra for the rubber tanks on the floatplane variants cuz the integral metal tanks were failing with all that stress from the water landings. I have been assured by several local AP/IAs that a simple RTS (return to service) logbook entry will suffice. You gotta trust somebody. Thanks for your input. Fly Safe, Jim

Replacing fuel bladders is an airframe minor repair. No 337s are required.
