- This course deals in depth with Book 37 of Imam al-Ghazali’s Revival of the Religious Sciences, entitled ‘The Book of Intention, Sincerity and Truthfulness’. Students will cover issues related to human consciousness, will and motivation, definitions of sincerity (ikhlas), and practical methods of avoiding hypocrisy and confused intentions. The objective is to gain clearer knowledge of the reasons for the turbulence of our inner lives and to gain some practical awareness of how Islamic spirituality cleanses the thoughts and transforms us into more centred and conscious human beings.

Imagine how easy it is to just turn on the internet and get this knowledge at our fingertips, a thousand years ago they had to migrate across deserts for this, a little sound quality problem is nothing in comparison.

maybe I'm not in the best of moods today..but the coughing between every two sentences was pretty annoying.
I had to stop listening 15 minutes into it. All I remember is that intentions are more important than actions and a whole BUNCH OF COUGHING. My intentions were to listen and learn from this lecture so that I may practice my deen better. I hope I get rewarded for my intentions because my actions were to cut the video off 15 minutes in and leave a passive aggressive comment on the youtube comments section.
