  • The Bunch Bikes Coupe is a lightweight three-wheeled electric assist box bike designed to transport up to two children in the box and one child seat on the rear rack. It includes two removable seat belts, fenders to cover each wheel for finger protection and to stay dry, a premium plastic chain cover, puncture-resistant reflective tires, and bright integrated front and rear lights for safety. The front of the box folds down to make loading easy and has two plastic bumpers to keep the paint from getting scratched up. The bike itself comes in four color schemes... more than any other electric box bike I've seen! Larger 24" and 26" wheels improve ride quality and premium hydraulic disc brakes with parking lock switch maximize control. An ABUS frame lock secures the rear wheel for quick stops and a hidden battery switch deters tampering with the display. Multi-sensor pedal assist responds faster than cadence sensing only, and requires less muscle force to get going. Default top speed is set to 25km/h (15.5mph) but this can be adjusted in the settings menu if you want to go slower or faster. Great display panel with big readouts and an intuitive button pad with dedicated buttons for lights and information readouts. Automatically shifting electronic Enviolo AUTOMATiQ CVT lets you pick a comfortable cadence and the bike does the rest! Costs $1.7k more than the heavier "Original" model from Bunch, but is lighter, narrower for fitting through doors, and more efficient for longer range. Shipping costs at least $199 extra, but the bike comes ready to ride and is extremely well protected. Only one frame size available, but the seat post and handlebar height are highly adjustable. Unique steering setup requires some reaching and leaning at times, limited turning radius, no bottle cage bosses or USB charging ports for accessories, ENVIOLO shifter controller runs on a disposable CR2032 coin battery vs. the main rechargeable ebike battery system.

    Chain guards. The first accessory to go on my bikes. I’ve found no matter how high end the bike is, they always rattle. Cube specialise in rattling mudguards too.

    Love it and a 20 amp battery is very good that's about twice the size as normal, and it's necessary with the three wheels and canopy, if you don't need it on take it of windage is a problem.

    Court liked the review I watch all your videos. I am 64 and thinking of getting an ebike I enjoy riding but I am finding it harder and harder to ride any distance or to keep up with my wife to be honest. I already have a Cannondale mountain bike and a LeMond road bike so I am feeling a little guilty about spending too much money on another bike. What do you think a good bike would be for basic road and bike paths? I’m in the Toronto area so we do have a lot of bike paths here? I am debating between Rad Power and Amego (stepthrough), any thoughts?

    Great review: funny that you have to "explain" the lock.. here (NL) it's the default, nice complete set up with gears, mid-drive and big battery, thus explaining the price.
    Since I didn't know the brand, did some googling: apparently they are made closer to home than I imaged, they are also Dutch :) [soci.bike]
    Personally not a big fan of the "auto" part from Enviolo (have the n380 -manual on my citybike): because the gears are reacting to the cadans got a (for me) unnatural feel: but maybe on a kid/cargo bike like this it makes more sense. (and/or they developed further on their first version.. tested about 4 year ago)

    • @ElectricBikeReview
      @ElectricBikeReview  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you're spot on, Tom! I also like the manual gearing, and Enviolo / NuVinci does make an electronically shifting manual hub. The mechanical ones are nice too, but the electric one with the grip shifter lets you choose your cadence or have it auto select like this one, just doesn't have the wireless remote. And yes, I kind of over-explain things because a lot of people I meet in North America are less familiar with the cafe lock :)

    Please consider revising video title to accurately reflect price.
    Just 2 months after this review was posted, Bunch Bike shows a $1,000 price increase on their website, so not $6K starting price, but rather $7K. Rain cover costs an additional $300, but then they [currently] waive the $100 shipping fee if one buy’s $249 worth of accessories, so...
    Without rain or cargo cover the price is $7.1K (+tax), and the model with rain cover you show in your review runs $7.2K (+tax)
    PS: In which case Nihola, Butchers & Bicycles, and Babboe all offer e-trikes in the same price range worthy of comparison.

    What is the connection between Bunch Bikes and Sam / Dost Bikes ?

    • @ElectricBikeReview
      @ElectricBikeReview  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question, I wasn't able to receive the huge crate at my place (I rent a room in someone's house) so I asked Sam if I could ship it to his company warehouse for DOST. Then, we were just having fun riding so I invited him to be in the video, I wanted to show the power and try riding in the box myself! I sometimes invite people from shops or just random strangers to join in, it's more fun that way... and I know that Sam doesn't have COVID, so he was an easy choice.

    27.2 mm is a metric approximation of the actual design standard of 1 and 1/16 inches. To say that 27.2 is actually a "design standard" is absurd.
