Just cuz you’re poor you just throw your garbage in the streets or dump mattresses all over , let your residence fall apart , graffiti a house ??? It’s lowlife culture
I've never understood this myself. I use to live near low income housing, all white people. And they'd live in the rundown crime ridden townhouses and yet they drive an expensive car. I would much rather get myself into a better neighborhood and take the bus or rely on friends. I think perhaps the feeling is that i'll never be able to afford a great house so at least a great car gives me some pleasure.
It's because they play the system. They get their government entitlements, which include section 8 housing. Section 8 housing in NJ usually limits you to the hood. They also hustle for cash. The car was most likely black market and then legally registered to someone who doesn't live in the house (at least on paper)
I was born & raised in Newark. Mostly Columbus Homes projects. I was just as dirty as the video but I didn't notice it. It was just normal to throw shit on the ground without even a thought. Now that I've grown & moved away many years now, I can see the poverty mentality. I ask myself, "can't they see all of that filth?" I didn't.
If you are not from NJ, just know that you could be in a hood place like this one minute, then ten minutes of driving you are around million dollar homes. If everyone in those homes took an hour out of their day to pick up the trash in front of their house, it wouldn't look so bad. Instead of buying a BMW, get a Honda Accord and fix your porch. If everyone took care of their home, it just makes their neighborhood more appealing to make business come there and ends up raising the value of their home.
The absolute worst and most dangerous location is Herbert Place near Route 21. Desolate location, people used to accidentally drive down there and get robbed and killed. It is now blocked off with a concrete barrier.
I live nearby this stuff, driven through parts of it, and just want to give folks who might be unfamiliar with the area what you're seeing for a frame of reference. 0:00 - 0:20 Turning right onto Gladstone Avenue off of South Orange Ave. 0:21 - 1:01 Making an illegal turn onto Whitney St off of Dassing Ave. all the way to South Orange Ave. 1:02 - 2:01 Going north on S 19th Street, turning left on 12th Ave, turning onto S 20th Street overlooking Newark Jewish Cemetery and Holy Sepulchre (you pass it every time on the GSP). 2:02 - 2:52 Some more of S 20th Street, heading south towards South Orange Ave. 2:53 - 3:16 Heading west on South Orange Ave, past the intersection with Grove Street. 3:52 - 4:14 West on Tremont Ave going past the intersections of Chelsea and Freeman. Definitely not very nice places to end up in, but one can make the case that Irvington is even worse.
When you go through places that aren't littered and dirty, it's the people that live there that help keep it clean. These people just don't give a fuck. If someone came in and clean it, it would end up looking exactly like this again.
Don’t get it twisted- it’s the people, not authorities. What this video doesn’t show is how disgusting 99% of these apts/homes are inside. Newark may be low income, but that doesn’t translate to the lack of cleanliness the inhabitants freely exhibit.
Believe it or not as bad as Newark can be some very successful people call it home. I know because a few are in my family but there are dealers who are living good out here....for now at least.
The thing about the hoods in Cali is they don't look like the hood those blocks are nice. So if your not from out there its easy to get caught slippin in the wrong hood.
I left home (Newark) in 1988. I was 19. I never looked back. I’ll visit fam for 2 or 3 days from time to time. That’s it. And Corey Booker was so proud of his achievements. SMH.
There is no reason these neighborhood's should still be looking like this.Cory Booker was just like all the other Democratic Mayors before him that did'nt do a damn thing to help out these people. You only see them ( the politicians) every 4 years coming around looking for your vote & promising the people everything & doing nothing.
The one time I went to Newark in the summer about 7 years ago it was literally like 100 sumthing people outside. This makes it look so dead. Good depiction of the poverty tho
I am from Middle - Europe, I think it is quite crazy that the USA is despite of being one of the wealthiest countries of the world many of your cities have parts which look awful. I guess it is partly your goverment's sin but also the residents should take care of their neighborhood. Fancy cars are being parked at all the houses but the streets are covered by rubbish. My country is not as developed as the USA but we don't have hoods like these.
I'm from newark, LIVED there 30 years, notice how I said FROM.... I have 23 friends that were shot and killed and probably 2x that in overdoses..... sad
Okay, My question is : what happened in the state of New Jersey that killed their economy? I understand the loss of the steel industry in Pennsylvania, the auto industry in Michigan for example. However, I do not know what New Jersey had. I am looking for an honest reply and not any racists or political statements.
I was born & raised in Newark for 14 years until my family & I moved to Orlando,Florida in 2004. We still live here ever since. I had other relatives move to fl as well but they all moved back up north because the pay was way better but my parents DO NOT LIKE LIVING IN NEWARK ANYMORE to move back up again, I wouldn’t either tbh
Renato Sapiens, I totally agree ! The recent Olympics are a case in point... Swimming, etc. were dangerous due to the high level of bacteria in the water, not to mention half sunken couches, and other things... That doesn't get mentioned in the flashy, splashy, tourism brochures... < sarcasm Then, there are the favelas that some here in America view as somehow "sacred" with moony, lachrimose, eyes... ( See Rousseau's "Noble Savage" )... But, you live there and see things as they are and not as they should be... ( See Ambrose Bierce's "Devil's Dictionary" for the definition of a cynic... ) I also see things as they are... Not as they should be...
Argentinian, uruguayan and european women are much more beautiful than brazilian. Saying our country (I was born and raised here) has the most beautiful women in the world is being dishonest or naive. Brazil continues to have a majority of the population living in poverty, and poor people do not have access to health care, dental care, do not eat well, as richer people do, hence, they get ugly: bad teeth, bad breath, bad skin, etc. Not mentioning that here many people use drugs, so even the girls who are very pretty in their teen years, get (sorry the language) really fucked up around their 25 years, on average. They party too much and have too much fun (if you know what I am saying) and when the 25 years to 30 years of age "door" hits then on the face, they get desperate to find a man and marry. YES, of course, we have nice women here. That are good to talk, gorgeous, have good manners, etc, but they are exceptions. In the vast majority they are just like american women: shallow, childish, rotten spoiled that only think about status. If you are from USA, Canada, or any developed country, and you have met a brazilian woman and she treated you extremely well, be sure that has a 120% chance that she only did that because you had "status", in this case, you were a foreigner from a better country, or in their skank language, an "alpha male". If you want gorgeous, classy , humble and mature women, by all means go to Argentina, Uruguay or Chile. These are the best countries in Latin America, and also have amazing women, as I have previously mentioned.
It would really be interesting to show the owners of these rental properties. Many of the images shown where are abandoned rental properties or fire damaged rentals near cemeteries.
And these building got tagged, burned out and collapsed all on their own. It looks like this because the people who live there want it to. Nobody snuck in and did this.
Newark has gotten a lot better over the past decade. I grew up in Newark's Central Ward in the 80s. Much more development, structure & even art now. New Jersey's largest city ain't ShangriLa, but it's come a long way since my childhood.
I love being from Newark man growing up with nothing dealing with the daily struggles man I always give back. Me and couple people try cleaning a lot of the hood up but shit ain’t easy to change they trynna run everyone out and start fresh it just ain’t easy
Lived in Newark 33 years ago. It was pure hell on earth. Burned out dilapidated run down buildings and empty lots full of weeds and abandoned graffiti mess
The human population growing rapidly while destroying animals and the environment. Science striving to ensure every woman can have a child, every person can live to 100, all the sick can be cured. For what??? So most of the population can live broke, pointless lives like this??
I see a huge potential for real estate development in the future. Despite the way it looks now the potential is there since Newark is close to NYC. One thing I do find strange is that Americans still build wooden houses.
Some of that almost looked like East Cleveland. My brother was born in Newark in 1941 and my aunt and uncle had a nice apartment in that city back in the early 60s. Sure didn't look like that back then.
used to go door to door on all of newark and Jersey hoods working for just energy. Newark's South streets 10-19th are the worst blocks and easiest signups always lol,I used to call them the teen blocks
I have live in the south for over 17 years, we have big trash dumpster, big streets, big stores, big restaurants. I work in New Jersey, New York, Delaware & Philadelphia. I don live there even if I get pay 50 or 80 an hour. Is so depressing in the winter, & yes too dirty.
whats crazy is this was last year these videos are very good because it shows all of us rather you from here or from somewhere else that the mayor's of these cities don't give 2 fuckz about certain areas so THANKZ AGAIN C-BO
Welcome to Newark! I've lived near this city my whole life. They ALL drive like that. Newark drivers give absolutely 0 fucks about anybody's well being. Nobody even uses turn signals or slows down for even pedestrians in crosswalks
Incredible! Developers with the help of the city are trying to buy homes all over the ironbound. Yet these neighborhoods can use some help and the city won't clean them up.
We can, we just have to do it on another channel, that's not what this channel shows. This is a niche channel that shows mostly run down inner city areas.
Everytime I drive thru Newark, dont care if it's the outskirts of it...I high tail my ass outta there. They're at least trying to fix Newark, but there is alot that still needs to be done.
Every neighborhood you go to has homes much bigger than the town I grew up in, this video is where my family is from but I never got to see unless I was working there. I love your videos dude but they making me real bitter
True. People blame the local residents, but a lot of the trash is dumped by people from outside the area and businesses who don't want to pay to dispose of stuff properly. Also people say the locals should clean the place up, yeah probably they should, but then someone is going to dump a whole lot more trash. Also when the locals take all the trash to the garbage transfer place, they are going to have to pay. Just saying the problem isn't that simple to solve. Where there are a lot of vacant houses or abandoned areas, people always come from outside the area and dump a lot of stuff. Even when the local government is proactive, it is a never ending battle.
I'm from the Carolinas I went to Newark for the first time my auntie funeral yall showed me to much love I was surprised to see how the city look the roads how they drive shout out to south ward I'm coming back soon everybody was asking me about the south too I was fucked my cuz them said u know where u at I didn't give a fuck I brought 3 bottles in turnt up
The best part about Newark was never living there!! Back in the day all we heard were gun shots in the summer all night when I spent the night at my aunts house, and we saw a dead body once!
I'm a Newark nativez although I left 20 years ago. A little narrative would help us to know where you are whike driving. I'm guessing Central Ward, but I don't recognize any landmarks.

CharlieBo313 people pay you to drive to poverty infested shitholes?? Real noble work your doing
You can be poor but you don't have to be dirty just because you're poor
These people aren't that poor, they're criminals that specialize in mainly drug dealing and most only spend money on fancy cars or necklaces and shit

Nasty, all the trash/litter on the streets. Just lazy, want to the blame on someone else.

European politicians aren't as corrupt as Newarks.
Eric Harris Europe is going to shit, especially Western Europe. Take it from someone who lives there and is watching it burn.
Fred Gardner .. I'm not sure that Booker was indicted ... although he should have been !
@Jonybalony1 really which ones?
@Jonybalony1 your comment is still incorrect. All of the poorest most dysfunctional states are run by liberals. None of those states are the poorest.
There's like an element of art to these videos.

Woah, that driver was being reckless! The have the right of way, but they passed you closely at high speed.
Hi! Why can’t we do a video of nicer looking areas of Newark? I grew up in the city, and I just saw more construction where you drove by!
We can, we just have to do it on another channel, that's not what this channel shows. This is a niche channel that shows mostly run down inner city areas.
North Newark near the boarder of Belleville and Bloomfield is the better area. Branch brook park. Clara mass hospital area
And they still ask for over $1,000 for a one bedroom apt
Ayo I’ve been through all of that. I live in linden but I used to live in Elizabeth. Makes me grateful my family has enough to stay outta these parts
Everytime I drive thru Newark, dont care if it's the outskirts of it...I high tail my ass outta there.
They're at least trying to fix Newark, but there is alot that still needs to be done.
That's a lot of trash on the ground
No one cleans.
Every neighborhood you go to has homes much bigger than the town I grew up in, this video is where my family is from but I never got to see unless I was working there.
I love your videos dude but they making me real bitter
I used to live in South eighteenth Street. Where these streets named? In thirty years nothing much changed.
Several people say that Newark is a dangerous place full of gangs and there are many Spanish and Latin-type Brazilian.
tell me please, where i can find MAGA in this video?
This whole video is in the west ward of newark and The block at 2:30 is redmans block in the west ward of Newark nj .

Brick City stand up baby!!!! Love the diversity of Newark,Nj plus the food there is awesome.. Kings on Lyons Ave.. Iberias downtown and many more..
I figured out where that tire shop gets rid if all the used tires....

A real mess.
A 10 on the trash meter.
I'm from the Carolinas I went to Newark for the first time my auntie funeral yall showed me to much love I was surprised to see how the city look the roads how they drive shout out to south ward I'm coming back soon everybody was asking me about the south too I was fucked my cuz them said u know where u at I didn't give a fuck I brought 3 bottles in turnt up
Can Detroit now say at least we aren't Newark?
I live in a poor third world country. Comparing to this I see no difference. They look worst though.
What if I didn't know where I was at.
CharlieBo313 Lol....In Newark, you'd BETTER know where you are, b'cuz there are some places you don't wanna be! Peace.
@@CharlieBo313 you was in the west ward Redman block is at 2:30
A stark contrast to the Iron Bound and the area north of Branchbrook Park.
Hard to believe someone was elect to Newark City leadership to govern this way of life. I can only imagine the quality of education.
