- Not being fed very well by my girlfriend l resort to trying a 24 hour ration pack from Ration X. Soldiers and campers live off this stuff but are they any good? This is part one and I'll be trying the rest of the pack in part two. Is it any good? I'll hold judgement until the pack is complete.

I don’t envy Mazzy after Dan ate all those beans !!! 😅
Like watching a combination of Graham Kerr and Julia Child with hilarious comments by Mazzy. Extremely entertaining!!!! Bon Appetite !!!
Can't say l know any of them 🙂
Where did you get the tray from dan would be ideal for my modelling hobby to set out parts
Amazon.
I think it's really good for people in tents who don't have a fridge. Also having a camping stove it's not long before its hot and ready to eat. I think I'd have to try all the sweet stuff first cos I love chocolate 😅. Great video Dan 😀

The OrifO rations you took on the Wild Camping Scotland trip are from Denmark. I remember you said the hot chocolate from those packs was really good. I learned that it was "Dutch process" chocolate. I see the packets in your mre here have a windmill on them. 👍
You are a Daniel Boone!! In honor of Halloween I am calling you Daniel Boo!! Haha great video Dan & Mazzy!!! 💕
Never heard of him.
In America he was a frontiersman (an explorer of sorts) famous folk hero for his wilderness exploits!! Living in the wild & off the land etc.
Your spork many have been a foon !
I would have added the chili powder or hot sauce to the beans and I would have put the pudding over the cake. MREs are good to have on hand in case of emergencies like during a disaster or your power goes out for any length of time because they can be eaten as is if you don't have gas or electricity. Many preppers in the US store this type of food. I wouldn't eat it unless I had to. At least you tried it so you know.
Hi Dan
I thought that was a good selection, I agree maybe not the best taste, but if you were stuck or went out in the woods it would be good.
Good on you for giving it a go 💜💜
I wish I had some Parkin. None here in the states. It doesn't taste the same with US products and it cost alot for Brit products.
Really liking this new channel. I've been watching since 'Digging the Coast'.
Use a bigger mug for the drinks. It 500ml of water you need for them
If you were in an emergency situation I suppose it would be good but not for regular use. It would break the bank too lol
Any type of rations are manufactured to give calories for a day and to give energy to keep a forces person fit for purpose.
I think as an emergency pack it’s fine if you were stuck up a mountain… it would keep you alive spread over a few days.
If you could carry it.
Dan it's a British MRE re named. Great video.
I'd be well pleased with that if I was wild camping.
That looks ok if you were doing stealth camping or survival training.Enjoy.All the best to you both.
£28 😮 considering you're trying to live on £20 a week 😂😂 we needed a chocolate custard for the chocolate cake 🤤 awesome vlog, ❤🥂🌹
I know!!
when cooker cools down turn pot holder over for storage
Top tip you only need to cook them for a few minutes. But tomorrow/today eat them cold straight from the pack. Pretend you're being proper stealthy
OK.. just for you.
I have being trying to find J p on u tuber but without success , maybe you could give me the exact name. I guess in an emergency sutuation the food would be well accepted , but for a day out I would take other bits snd a pan and warm things up. Even a tin of beans and sausages would be fine. With some soup and a bread roll. But if no other food I guess it would be enjoyable.

Biscuits brown are my absolute favourite. Great with cheese on. And you can break them up and put them in other foods to thicken the food up
Sounds great!
The packets are that colour for exactly that reason in case you leave any rubbish behind and give away the position you were at.
I know, lm a professional.
Dan my experience eating ration packs in army you should save tissues for when you have to go to the toilet it’s better than using gum leaves , 😂thanks for sharing another great review
Great tip lol
This is very very similar to the 24hr ration packs the army gave us when on exercises. Brings back memories of Otterburn, Catterick, Warcop, Thetford and many others!
Hi dan and mazzy l think its ideal if your out camping in the woods etc lve had the poldark hot chocolate its very nice dont need sugar ...nice one 😊
Thanks for the tips!
First 😂 xxx
Lol, yes, mazzy xx
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Maybe the MRE should have included a pair of reading glasses?
Or a microscope
Hey this was so funny. Mazzy you made me laugh not trying anything .
Anyway Dan at least it filled a hole 😂
It sure did.
I love your videos 😊
Brilliant 👏 👏 👏 👏
Great video interesting pack I guess they are made to be high in calories to give you energy for the day in case of an emergency. Looking forward to part 2
Biscuits brown n Chicken jizz (chicken pate) mmmmm used to get that in Brit RAT packs, sadly not in that one! They're cheap calorie rich easy food, to be fair I make em last a day n a half maybe 2, your only problem with those is that you try carrying 5 of those and all your kit, they weigh a lot! and are bulky, I used to take some MRE and mostly dehydrated food like wayfarers and make sure i have water sources on route..Weirdly i like RAT packs lol.... Washing up!!! 😳😂 x JP
You used to take MREs where? The Ford factory? 😅
@@DesperateDanDiscovers On manoeuvres 😎 Bushcraft and survival babyyyyyyy!!!!!! 😜😂
@@DesperateDanDiscovers Ford is a cover story for my time in the..... sorry i can't tell you anymore Information on that...secret.....
Dan eating ration x lol, if it was self heating I might have been impressed. I agree with mazzy I think its over valued and poor. Its 300g portions I think a tin is even about 400g. All thats going to do is send your blood sugars through the roof. Poor quality diet for £28 a day. However loved your vlog as always. I can't wait to hear about the curry...hope you got a john smiths with that 😂❤xx
My final verdict will be 100% honest. It might not be very kind.
I know you are honest and down to earth. That's why I love watching you both. I'm working my way through all your vlogs. Just watching travel Trolls from the disaster zone..what really stands out is how much you love your mazzy on this one ❤. Just love watching you both x
he got that out onto a tray. nice.
👍
I used to work for a food manufacturer and we made the pouch meals. £28 for the kit may seem a lot but the cost price to make those 4 pouches with be £12+. They need to be perfectly sealed, which is easier said than done, as the last thing troops in the field need is them bursting open if they dive for cover. Due to the manufacturing there could be as high as 50% reject rate. They are designed to be eaten hot or cold. You use your mess tin to boil then water as you heat them then use the hot water to make a brew. TBH the 2 beans ones were always a little disappointing but the stews, curries, puddings etc were very nice. They can also be eaten direct from the pouch if necessary after heating, just need to be careful you don't burn yourself.
The 3800 calories may seem high as well but again consider there intended use. By soldiers in the field who will be burning a lot of energy.
There's a NATO TH-cam channel. They do comparisons where a couple of soldiers from 2 different nations try each others ration packs.
This isn't a military ration pack though.
@TrailCamDan1 I appreciate this specific pack may not be put together for the military, but it's all the same items that do go into them.
Hi There Dan and Mazzy Hope you are well , Great video , The food looks good from here , A good idea if your out in the middle of nowhere in your tents , the cardboard biscuits might taste better if you dunked um quick in your hot chocolate , and your chocolate cake is for afternoon tea , LOL, well you did a great review , and youve got me thinking , what would crisps with baked beans taste like (choose your flavours) lol, so Thanks for sharing , Take care , love your videos , X X🫕👍
Great idea
Thank you@@DesperateDanDiscovers
Interesting 👍
Brilliant 😂😂😂
Nice video👏
Would love it if you’d start doing more of these videos..
I will when l can get them.
£7 of food packed in plastic and sold for £28.. there'd have to be a war on for me to eat that 🙂
There are lots of wars on.
@TrailCamDan1 not here yet though, but who knows what the future holds. So I've got my tin of sausages and beans ready 😉
@@ÓGlasáinit's coming.. Not long now.. And better start prepping.. Nice that u showed what came out off that ration pack Dan.. 😉👍
Don't look bad to sqy its ration packed can't wait for rest of it
Brilliantly crafted final shot sequence!
You can rinse the bags and use the bags to make a drink with the left water
Or use Mazzys earhole as a cup.
Dan I think that pack was rather expensive the sausage and beans looked 🤮but if your out in the wilderness you would eat it if your hungry love all the little side items 😊looking forward to part 2😊have a lovely evening
I'm hungry.
i do love u both u both click just right ❤
There’s extra sugar in most packs to increase energy
Well it didn't work. Still tired and hungry.
Ooh not sure about that pack Dan , im sure if you were starving, it's ok ish lol ......wild vile has a better banquet lol 😊
I'm starving! 😁
@@DesperateDanDiscovers lol I'm not surprised 😂
