I live literally right in the middle of both of the locations for Friday Parts 1 and 2. Blairstown is about an hour west and New Preston is an hour east. Being the horror geek that I am, you'd think I would have visited both of them right? WRONG! I really have to get both of these locations very soon. Thanks for the vids, they're extremely entertaining. Keep it up!
This was a GREAT VIDEO!!!! Very good job! Thanks for posting this. I live out in California now, but I grew up back east in Pennsylvania. Some of "Silence of the Lambs" was shot right in the town where I grew up. Also my home area was used for the original 1968 "Night of the Living Dead". I love these horror movies from the 70's and 80's. And I now love finding locations all around So California where I currently live.
Thanks. I was just fooling around at that point. haha. I love part two equally with the original. I actually love 1, 2, 3 & The Final Chapter. I like the rest, of course. The first four are the top four films in my top 10 horror movies list (I keep in my head). Halloween comes next, followed by A Nightmare On Elm Street. Prom Night, Maniac, Silent Night Deadly Night, The Evil Dead, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Psycho & The Wizard Of Oz. Some of my faves. Thanks for viewing. Later, J.
I am SO sad that most of it or all is gone... I knew The Casino was, I think it burned down. I really love the beginning of this with the lo link location of Stu's house! I loved Jeff and Sandra... Thanks for a great trip down memory lane!!!!
I fell in love with Ginny when I was a young teen watching this and still today love Amy Steel for bringing Ginny to life. One awesome heroine. Smart and beautiful and strong. Love Jason under the dirty, stained pillow case (with one eye hole, no less). Reminded me of The Town That Dreaded Sundown, with the killer's mask (minus the single eye hole). Always thought it was scary. The film itself without saying is perfectly written. It's the slasher, blueprint on how to make a proper sequel. And it sets itself up to carry on for yet another very well deserved chapter. Just perfect. Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm for the film. So cool. Later, J.
Glad you took the time to view it. Appreciate the comment, too. I am trying to work it out to visit a few more film locations. I have a few leads but, nothing solid yet. Thanks again. Later, J.
I admit that I want to. I really want to visit Stu's house the most. To see where the battle at the end takes place between Sidney and Billy & Stu. It can be done. I don't know if I'm the man to do it though. Never say never. Thanks for checking out my vids and for writing. Peace, J.
If I owned that place I'd have it open for Friday fans to come and see it. Maybe even have people pay to take a tour of the area and have Friday the 13th Part 2 cookouts. I'm glad you were able to get what you could. Nice video!
I live 22 miles away from Preston and took some friends there last summer. It's so cool how little has changed. We drove on to Kent and went right down that long driveway to the lake despite the the no trespassing signs and told security we were students from a local college taking samples from lake water. Lol. The cabins are not on the lake but a mile or so up the road. There is a Indian Totem pole on the opposite side. The cabins are rented to yuppies from NY.
awesome video man. I have been a die hard horror movie fan for a long time. its so damn cool to see these locations in the present. i have always wanted to do something like that. keep it up buddy.
Thanks a lot. I made these vids for just that reason. For other horror fans like myself, to enjoy. Appreciate you checking it out and commenting, too. Peace. Later, J.
another great video man. thanks so much for putting this up. I hope to see other filming locations for the other friday the 13th movies. keep up the great work! Ryan
Hard to believe they would doze down the cabins. The main one looked really cool on the inside. Of course, they probably made it up to look that way. Cool video.
All are gone. I have video footage. Sad thing is that is that it is in the winter and in a massive snow storm. All cabins that were filmed are gone. Every one. I doubt that I'll ever put the video up for viewing, but I sure have it. It's all gone. J.
KandJHorrordotcom please kandj put it up. I can't find any other videos of the cabins. You may have some of the only pieces of this movies history left.
Hey man, what´s up? Recently, I watched all parts of Friday 13. and your reports about the different film locations are very interesing!! I like it! Keep on working!
Thanks for checking it out. It's waiting for you. It ain't going nowhere anytime soon. Haha. Glad you liked the vid. Be chatting with you bro. Later, J.
You gotta see SLEEPAWAY CAMP ASAP!! Can' t believe you haven't bro. Thanks for the great info on THE BURNING. I would have never guessed NY. Wow. Thanks again. Peace, J.
I looked for that spot. I know I was on it but, the trees have grown up sooo much in 20 years that it was hard to find the exact spot. As far as the woods where Jason lived. I was there. Inside the camp in Feb. 09. I didn't see the actual creek he jumps or where they had his little would-be house constructed because there was snow 10" deep on the ground. I just filmed the campsite and left quick to not get arrested. All the cabins are GONE! Nothing left from the movie! Thanks for commenting! J.
Thanks for the cool comment. It's just this reason (horror film fans) that makes me go around doing these. Real glad you enjoyed it. I'll do what I can to bring you & everyone else some more stuff in the future. Thanks again. Later, J.
Nice additions. It's times like these I wish I had ridiculous amounts of money to burn so I could purchase a property like that, haha. As always, great vid.
Yeah, left the original films locations and drove strait to Connecticut to Part 2's locations. It's like going back in time or somehow transporting yourself into the films. It is great. You'll have a lot of fun. Go for it, sometime. Thanks for viewing, too. Later, J.
great job on this and all your vids I have watched already....By the way, on a totally different note, has anyone ever told you that your speaking voice sounds a lot like Bill Paxton's?
I'm not sure about that public thing. I went inside Laurel Ledge in Feb. 09. I have a video from inside. It is covered in snow is the prob. That's why I don't like it and haven't posted it. All the cabins are gone. All of them now. There is one cabin not used in the film (but can be seen) left standing with the same colors still on it as the rest in the film. That is the coolest thing left in Laurel Ledge, the camp used in Friday the 13th part 2. Sad, huh? Thanks for viewing my vid. Later, J.
Well, I'm more of an East coast type of guy. I know that Fri. 13th 6 Jason Lives was filmed in Atlanta and it's on my radar. I won't be heading out to Calf. to do any filming. Someone has the Fri. 13th 3 film locations on youtube as of today already. If the house wasn't burned down, I'd go out there and visit it, for sure. The barn alone, to me, isn't worth the time to do so. Although I'd still really like to go in that barn and play Jason. Haha. Thanks so much for your comments. Peace. Later, J
the bar scene was in the casino . you can find out and see a pic of it if you go to lake waramuag friday the 13th filming.. thiis was on the tip of lake waramuag across the street from one of the coves
Who would have known that there was such a following for Friday 13 p2 ??.... Very good friends of mine owned the property & cabins during the making of the movie. I remember when they were filming we weren't allowed in. I spent much time there during the summers and have many fond memories sitting on the lodge porch overlooking the lake and playing on the electronic bowling game (seen in the movie), we called it "the game room". I also did much fishing on an old wooden canoe (also seen in the movie under cabin upside-down just off dirt driveway) which I currently own. FYI, during the making of the movie the estate where the cabins stood was called "Bromica," not "Laurel Ledge." Also In one of the scenes you will see hanging on the wall a framed black & white portrait sketch of a man... he was the the father of my friend and the original owner who built all the cabins, I remember meeting him when I was very young. The cabins were originally rented to hunters & fishermen and later to families as a summer get-a-way. My parents considered purchasing a small cabin on an island across the lake which you can see in several scenes, darn I wish they did. Oh, one more thing... the owners told me that Terry/Kristen Baker, the girl running with the short shorts wore them often (off camera) when she went jogging. I miss that place and will forever hold it close to my heart.
This was a very cool read. Thank you very much for sharing. I wish the property still stood as it did in the film, but all has changed now. It is sad, for real. Fri. 13th 2 is my fave film of all time. Later, J.
Same here. You may of heard me say "In my dreams!" I meant it. No way I could ever afford to live like that. God bless those who do, though. Thanks for checking it out- again. Peace. Later, J.
Thanks man.The Burning was filmed in Buffalo New York and the concrete ruins at the end where filmed in Model City near New York.I've just googled it.Too far for me to visit as i live in uk.I haven't actually ever seen Sleepaway Camp, must check it out.
The movie makes it seem like the cabins and the lake are right next to each other, but it seems there quite a distance from one another. I wonder if that small narrow road where the police officer stops his car and chases after Jason is still like that, or has been expanded since then.
my hometown,we actually got to watch some of the filming. Unfortunately New Preston has become Yuppieville and home to all sorts of antique stores and pricy clothing stores as you can see.By the way the phone they used was never there, they had to put one up for the movie.
Great seeing it from a different viewpoint. I went through the area in 09 - And it seemed the people wanted to forget the movie ever happen. Kinda sad. But, I guess like the folks in Amityville and Burkittsville (Blair Witch) - Been to both. If you are respectful they can be kind. But they really wish they had rethought allowing their names to be used. Exception may be Amityville, which had no choice. You are an American Nomad. Godspeed, my friend.
awesome, I wish I could even afford to go out to some of these places. It'd be awesome. Hopefully you will be able to get a chance to go to the locations for the other parts and film stuff. that'd be cool to see
This was GREAT! I watched the movie while I watched your video... you did a GREAT job. I did something similar on the locations of Halloween. I was THRILLED to go see the houses and streets. I felt like I was somehow a part of the movie. I know you would understand. Most people think I am nuts! :)
That was Kent, as is the campground from pt. 2. I did visit Kent and talked to some towns folk. I showed them a pic of the street and house from the beginning of pt. 2 and they said that is NOT in this town. It is a small town and I rode the entire town over looking for it. I think it was shot somewhere else that the film makers won't tell. I do know the outside and inside scenes were shot at two different locations supposedly. I tried to bring it to you, tried hard. Maybe later? Never know. J.
It should make it easier. Finding the main road shown at the beginning of this vid takes awhile. It is a good ways away and along a long mountain side. I was surprized it was so far away. Thought it would be easier. Good luck and have FUN! Later, J.
Hope those leads end up positive. I'd love to see more of these. Hopefully one of every movie, aside of Jason X of course, because that was just a set in a studio anyway. Look forward to seeing more hopefully.
Great video. This is one of my favorite movies of all time & I love your enthusiasm for it. Did you ever get to see the area where that cop saw Jason running across the road & ditched his car to chase him in the woods? That's my favorite scene in the movie since it scared the crap out of me when I first saw it as a kid. I assume it's in Kent Falls State Park in Kent, CT. I always wanted to go there & plan on making the trip someday (maybe this summer).
Phenomenal again! Thank you for posting this. What about the beginning scene of Part 2 where Jason kills Alice inside of her home? I never see that mentioned anywhere. Was that filmed in New Preston as well?
Man this is great stuff how do you find it? I watched your part 1 & it was great too even though Ive been there Im gonna go back, now I wanna see this. Thanx for the awesome videos my friend..
Thanks! I'm right there with you. I love The Burning. I don't know where it was filmed? I have the VHS but not the DVD, so I don't know if it is mentioned in the commentary or if there even is a commentary track on the DVD. I'd love to visit the camp in NY where Sleepaway Camp was filmed, too. I understand that there is only like one building used in the film even left from Sleepaway Camp so I don't think it would be worth the time and effort to pull it off. But it would be fun! Later on. J.
I know you'll have a blast. I would like to live so close. I'd go to see the JAWS filming locations if I were up there more. And the Amityville house, for sure. Have fun ya'll. Later, J.
I have it filmed in the snow from Feb. 09. I went in and filmed the whole site. Nothing is left. Just the cinderblock and pole foundations. All the cabins are gone but one, and it was acutally used in the film but you can see it when Ginny is running away from Jason towards the end. I've been there. It's all gone and very sad. I left feeling very dejected. Like someone ripped my heart out and stepped on it really. DAMN!!! I'm still hot. I may post the footage for fun? In the snow? Odd. Later, J.
That Myers house had to be AWESOME! I know you didn't want to leave. I would want to move in. If I was stupid rich, I'd buy it if it was for sale. If not, I'd stuff a ton of money in the owners of the Amityville horror house and buy it. If it isn't for sale, I'd just say, double whatever your asking price might be. They'd do it for 2x's the asking price for sure. Just dreaming! Fun though. Thanks for visiting. Later, J.
One of my favorite horror movies ever. I'm going to watch it friday. Do you know if laurel ledge and north spectacle lake were open to the public in 1981? How many cabins are in laurel ledge?
The cabins are right on the lake. I shot the scene showing the lake from the other side because I couldn't enter the camp ground site (Laurel Ledge). I have been in it since and the cabins are totally removed. All but one and it wasn't used in the film. The narrow road is still there and has not been changed a bit. You have to go up it to get to Laurel Ledge. Very small road that winds around the lake and is almost impossible to find. A man who lives nearby took me to it or I'd never made it. J.
i went to a private school 20 minutes from this location in NY, and i played soccer games at the school called Kent in Kent connecticut. do you happen to know how far away the location is from the school area? if you happened to pass by the school at all? btw thanks for the vid!! ill def be checking out this location =)
I like the original more, but PART 2 is soooo close. I've said before that it is my fave, but I have to go with part 1. I do love Jason wearing that bag. So scary! I love lead girl Ginny. She does such a great job. And the writing, foreshadowing how Ginny had been studying child psychology was brilliant. And how they show her beating here boyfriend at chess & her using the chainsaw cutting firewood implies she is smart and strong and very capable of fighting Jason at the end & winning. Peace. J.
What's up man?I have been to New Preston today(Sunday)and i had the oportinity to check all the locations that the first scenes of friday the 13th were shot.I could not find the place where the cassino once stood, but i understand its located at West Shore rd(is it west shore rd in New Preston or Kent?)Also i could not find the LAUREL LEDGE address. What is the Laurel Ledge address(street name and town?)Thanks for you help man...
The main street is not too hard to find. The rest are almost impossible. But, best of luck. I have been back and went up into the "camp" and it is all gone. Torn down and replaced with new stuff. Sucks they did that. Later, J.
Thanks & agreed. I wish I could go down and film it for everyone. I still might one day. I'm not done trying. I'm trying to make contact with the new owners and set up a date to do so. If they are nice enough to comply? We'll see. I know if the property was mine I wouldn't want every stranger who wandered up to my land to enter. I'd have them arrested for trespassing. DTA (don't trust anybody). In today's society, it's a good motto to live by. Sad, but unfortunately true. Thanks again. Later, J.
Well thank you. Very kind to say. I hope you visited my channel too, and saw my vid of the original Fri. 13th locations. I think you'll like it. If not, check it out when you have time (if you'd like). Thanks again. Later, J.
this is unfortunate for both part 2 and 3 locations because if you look them up on google youll see pictures from 2003 of the houses of both locations. if they were 5 years earlier they could have shot the whole thing..inside and out.
I live literally right in the middle of both of the locations for Friday Parts 1 and 2. Blairstown is about an hour west and New Preston is an hour east. Being the horror geek that I am, you'd think I would have visited both of them right? WRONG! I really have to get both of these locations very soon. It’s a real shame that the Camp Grounds that were used for Part 2 have all been torn down for condos. Damn shame!
Yeah, it hurts. Shouldn't be allowed, or even legal. hehe. J.
Thanks. I was just fooling around at that point. haha. I love part two equally with the original. I actually love 1, 2, 3 & The Final Chapter. I like the rest, of course. In the 80's in Chicago, they had an allnight showing of Part 1 through Part 4. Good Stuff. Good Job.
awesome video man. I have been a die hard horror movie fan for a long time. its so damn cool to see these locations in the present. i have always wanted to do something like that. keep it up buddy.
I'm from Ct.You did an excellent job on this + Fine narrating.Alway's liked part 2 best.Cool stuff
My pleasure man. Appreciate you taking the time to view it, too. Peace, J.
Thanks a lot. I made these vids for just that reason. For other horror fans like myself, to enjoy. Appreciate you checking it out and commenting, too. Peace. Later, J.
thanks for sharing that was so,cool love Friday 13th
Right on! JASON RULES. haha Later, J.

I live less than an hour from here and should check it out. Interestingly enough, near my home is a pond actually named Crystal Lake.
Later on. J.
Oh man! You have to go. I'd be there, like all the time! They'd all know me by name in the towns. Haha. Thanks for visiting. Later, J.
Later, J.
Adam the woo sent me
Oh yeah. Others have said the same thing. I went on his channel and saw him talk about my video. I appreciate it, too. Thanks for watching. Later, J.

One of my favorite horror movies ever. I'm going to watch it friday. Do you know if laurel ledge and north spectacle lake were open to the public in 1981? How many cabins are in laurel ledge?
Great video! Part 2 has always been my favourite :D
Thank ya! Glad to hear it man. J.
thank´s man, ft13th part 2 is the best in my opinion.very cool.
i´m a from faial, azores, portugal
i went to a private school 20 minutes from this location in NY, and i played soccer games at the school called Kent in Kent connecticut. do you happen to know how far away the location is from the school area? if you happened to pass by the school at all? btw thanks for the vid!! ill def be checking out this location =)
Peace. J.
this is such a cool video it is such a cool place have you done part 4
part 2 is my favorite horror movie ever! i live near Covington GA.. where part 6 was filmed
What is the Laurel Ledge address(street name and town?)Thanks for you help man...
i would just love some creepy horror movie fan tracing around my front yard lol
So wait. Which road did Jason run accross when the cop saw him and chased him to his makeshift lair?
are all the locations located pretty close to each other?? I plan on visiting the locations in October so I'm trying to get an idea.
The main street is not too hard to find. The rest are almost impossible. But, best of luck. I have been back and went up into the "camp" and it is all gone. Torn down and replaced with new stuff. Sucks they did that. Later, J.
Thank you.
Later, J.
I live there! Nice video
Oh wow, too sweet. Thanks for watching and commenting. Later, J.
I'm sorry. I don't have any more info. Good luck. I bet you'll have some real fun! J.
Estes filmes antigos são legais sempre serão!
I know that the cabins are no longer there, but what about the main house?
Well done
Thank you. J.
Well thank you. Very kind to say. I hope you visited my channel too, and saw my vid of the original Fri. 13th locations. I think you'll like it. If not, check it out when you have time (if you'd like). Thanks again. Later, J.
awesome video BTW
Thanks. I worked really hard at it. J.
I thought they filmed this outside Atlanta.
Hehe, just goof'n around. Peace, J.
@ZombieCallum
Totally agree with you that part 2 was the best one! :)
also it was flimed in kent,ct.
this is unfortunate for both part 2 and 3 locations because if you look them up on google youll see pictures from 2003 of the houses of both locations. if they were 5 years earlier they could have shot the whole thing..inside and out.
you mean even the main building with the porch is gone now?
he's right it hasint changed much
You should have had clips from the movie to confirm the places in the town where the movie was shot.

Agreed.
please go to where Scream (1996) was filmed .. please
Did Jasons little house with moms head still there?
I went back and went into the "camp" and all the cabins were leveled. No, Jason's shack was gone. All of the movie filmed stuff is gone now. J.
Wow
cool but again no cristal lake ^^
Oh, No, I have not even heard of it. Sorry. Sounds real neat though. American Loch Ness Monster, huh? I'll have to google that one. Thanks! Later, J.
friday 2 is the best
