It's just hard for me to commit to the idea of his overall ceiling being Steph Curry or better because Steph is an all-time great and those are lofty goals for any prospect coming into the league. However, Steph Curry is definitely the prototype he can attempt to model his game around.

Last season if rockets were just making the 3's that sengun kicks out everytime he in the post sengun would have a higher assist percentage than what he has now. Yes we wanted size for rim protection but we have adams to clog the lane with his size. Most likely line up for rockets is Sengun Jabari brooks green and van fleet with backups Adams eason whitmore sheppard and thompson.

Let me clarify something to causals like you who just look at stats to determine what a player is like
Reed Sheppard is NOT the "next Steph Curry," his ball handling is more on the level of a Chris Paul
The reason why he made 52% of his threes in college is because he always took advantage of good shots.. Outsiders often criticized him in college for having only a few shot attempts in some games but he made up for it with his double digit assists and underrated defense
All of this being said he's a smart hooper and though he may not have all the physical talent, his basketball IQ makes up for it as he knows when to reach in for steals, and get his teammates involved
He's not going to be trigger happy and fire away from three but if any defenders sag off him to go double Şengün or Jalen Green he will make them pay

@@jmcghane because he is only 20 years old. Rockets are doing a great job picking young talent, but at some point you will need to get some free agents. At 6’1.75” he better do a lot more than just shoot. Like play defense. Although, that Kentucky team was super weird. Their two best players were freshman (Dillingham and Sheppard) that started 7 games between them, while DJ Wagner started 28 games. My fear would be that neither Dillingham or Sheppard can guard anybody on the floor.

And also he can play defense that's one of 2 reasons that the Rockets drafted him. I'm not saying that he'll be a superstar but what I am saying that he'll be a valuable asset to the Rockets.
