Reasons why Ultimate Ninja Storm 1 Ultimate Jutsus tend to be better than subsequent games: 1. You could stop them. While people might not like QTEs/Button Mashing/Wiggle the Stick mini games, being able to cancel your opponent's UJ and avoid taking damage is *extremely* satisfying. It also stops UJs from becoming an annoyance, because there's a way to stop them. By getting rid of the ability to stop UJs if they hit you, they made UJs more annoying and thus less appealing to use. 2. The Awakenings had UJs. By giving the Awakened form of characters their own UJs, they added to the idea that these Awakenings are massive boost in power, as they don't just give them boosted attack and speed, but they completely change the character's ultimate attack. In subsequent games, they got rid of Awakening UJs, thus making all Awakenings nothing more than attack boost. 3. Each showed off a character's personality. Sure, the UJs were lengthy, but that was the point. By making lengthy UJs, they showed off each character's personality in every UJ. Which makes sense, since they are all techniques created by the character that no one else can do. You can see Lee's care free spirit in his Leaf Burning Sky attack. You can see how serious and strong he is with his Hidden Lotus UJ. By shortening the UJs, they were forced to get rid of that personality. Now, every UJ might as well be the same between all the characters; just a short cuts that deal a lot of damage. 4. They felt amazing to pull off. One other side effect of making it so UJs could be stopped, was that it added that sense of accomplishment. It made you go, "Yeah! I pulled it off! I'm kick your ass so hard right now!" whenever you stopped your opponent from preventing your UJ. After which, you could watch an amazing spectacle of animation where you knock off at least 40% of the enemies health bar. It made you feel accomplished, entertained, and powerful. Now, anyone can pull off a UJ. Just hit the enemy with your triangle, triangle, circle, and boom. They made UJs loose their spectacle.
I never actually played the series before but I watched all the ultimates. If I have any right to say, the previous titles like this one had longer animated ultimates, would be cool if they extended the animation scenes for characters in the newer titles.

Good game but it's so stupid they didn't add the sound four, Zabuza and Haku, Lee's drunken mode, Choji's butterfly mode etc. They were present in Ultimate Ninja 3 on ps2. You'd think they'd at least have Drunken Lee.
They were not really familiar with the ps3 when this game was made, and did not know the limits of the system and decided to keep the characters to a bare minimum of "Main characters". Also to not take any risks and make the game as good as possible.
Chase ... They are free to download. How is it not worth it, exactly, when you can be adding things to your game by only sparing a few minutes of your time?
But the combat mechanics are no where near to as competitive as Storm 3's. I'm tired of you Narutards who only care about flashy attack animations and then you keep saying so over and over again. What about the game mechanics?
I wish naruto had a extra awakening where he just uses the nine tailes chakra without turning into the nine tails like in his fight with Neji and his ultamite jutus could have summoning Gamabunta and he just slashes his sword at you. Plus another jutus they should have added for naruto is he just summons Gamakichi and he does some type of fire style jutus on him
This has to be the first time when then the first game of a series graphically looked better then the games after it. Hell, earlier games in the PS3's life, visuals looked more like art (FFXIII and heavenly sword come to mind). Now all we get is generic realistic graphics that don't even age well. The animation in general is also better and definitely has more personality.
CC2 made longer ultimate Jutsus in Revolution. They didn't do it for everyone though. Besides, Revolution is slower from a pro metagame point of view. Storm 3 is better by a long shot. That game is nothing but a bunch of flashy animations and less combat mechanics than Storm 3 and Generations, its predecessor and pre-predecessor.
They should have never removed the style these ultimate jutsu's had, let alone take away clashing, WHY THE FUCK YOU DO THAT?! Clashing was so bad ass the first time I figured out how to do it, felt like a fucking bad ass, all Storm 4 would have to do to become 100x better, is just give us clashing and these more extended types of ultimate jutsu for both normal and awakened forms. They did that with the recent ideas that(I must admit) are pretty good too, like team ultimates, switching characters mid battle, the stuff like that.

i wish if they made a guy awakening where he actually activates the eighth gate but with one drawback you having to die unless you kill your opponent first when the awakening finishes that will be so cool and so bad at the same time :D pls like if you think my idea is cool and reply! :)

It's kinda sad that the ultimates in this game and some movesets are better than the ultimates for the characters in revolution & storm 3, it's like they replaced those epic ults with boring basic ones, like look at orochimaru's ult and look at his now... CC2 laziness
It's nice... no one was lame, whether the character was a genin or sannin. Game felt so balanced. Ultimate jutsus are the best of any Storm game. Sorry, SUN Storm 4... You don't compete with the original UN Storm.

this one has a smaller roster sure but each character is way more fleshed out. with more jutsu to pick for each that doesent return in storm 4. it makes no sence because they already had the shit why not add it. also black sasuke in storm 4 when activating sharingan it has a but that doesent do it.
