Hey! I'm planning to go to Hartpury University next year and am hoping to bring my horse, what do you mean by strict yard rules? Were there any rules you found difficult or any problems you had? Thank you!! xx
Natasha Vanhoutte there are a load of rules, like you have to wear a hard hat and gloves every time you lead the horse, the horse has to be tied up in the stable if you're working with it in the stable, the stable has to be clean before 8am, the horse has limited turnout, and the hay barn times (when you can get hay for the horse) are limited depending on which barn you're in.
imma guess hes fed baileys endurance mix, outshine and either alfalfa chaff or ease & excel? lol i work on a yard fed entirely on baileys, not too far from hartpury i dont think. owners going showjumping there this friday & saturday! Xx
Since you're at an equine university, maybe you can find an answer to this question: Why do stables in UK only have shavings in a small part? Why don't they cover the whole stable in shavings? Where I live, that is the normal way to do it, and I've seen it done that way in other European countries as well.
M B Equestrian it’s pretty normal in the uk to cover the entire stable in shavings apart from maybe 3 foot at the front of the stables!usually this is where the water, feed and hay goes but it obviously depends on the type/size of stable and what the owner prefers!
