@@yingpercussion You're welcome :) And don't worry about smile or not during a performance. This is only bullshits about people that can't be able to focus their mind and feelings on what their are listening.
I´ve heard this great music live this year in Hamburg, Elbphilharmonie, Alexandros Giovanos was the percussionist... a great experience .... Ying-Hsueh Chen is also a great musicien!!! I love to hear her live...
I was just in the Elbphilharmonie a week ago, what a mesmerising venue, beautiful acoustics. It must’ve been an incredible experience to hear this piece there
You all probably dont care but does anybody know a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow lost my login password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me
@Grant Legend i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
How wonderful that you had an appreciative audience! I'm sure there aren't many classical percussionists who ever get a reaction like that during their entire career.
I can't imagine Psappha being performed better! I could watch Ying-Hsueh Chen perform all day long. Very emotion for both performer and viewer! I'll be her groupie!
It's not just brilliant. It transcends that. This performance is sublime and you deserve to know that Ying-Hsueh Chen. Thanks for sharing such amazing feelings with us.
So beautiful. How I wish the bass frequencies were also present in the recording, I can literally feel what that large bass drum must sound and feel like standing right in front of it.
Definitely, it's a huge part of the atmosphere of it for sure, it adds many levels of texture to all of the sounds. Perfect acoustics for this type of piece!
I don't understand how Xenakis wrote this. how he could imagine the set up and everything. Can you really understand every instrument so well ? it boggles the mind
Julien M actually, the Psappha set-up is to be built by the interpret, Xenakis just drew general lines to guide the interpret and the meanings of most accents arw to be chosen also by the interpret. Just go to a music faculty library, they should all have the music sheet for this. Check out in the large-sized documents though, the original version is written quite big
I just bought this piece and i was really excited to play it because of your performance, but when i got the music the Key and all the performance notes were in French.
Thank you. I used 2 Yun Luo ( Chinese trantional tonal percussion instrument, you can google it) for the upper 2, and the lowest one is a high pitched opera gong. Have a good day.
Mesmerizing stuff! (Although i suspect being so beautiful doesn't do any harm either!) No score to read from: is it all from memory or is there an element of improvisation built in, I wonder?
Listen, like I did, with the app called "Realtek HD Audio" in the "cave" style. WOW! Ying-Hsueh Chen...you got class in looks & ability to make many percussion items tell a story...Asian style. This is a cool piece of music.
All this effort and the drums just don`t swing. And then you see this five year old African kid swinging his selfmade instrument that it makes you dance.
I listen again and again this performance and it's always a new pleasure.
Thank you Ying-Hsueh 🙂
Thank you so much!

Thank you so much you really help me out :D
@Dante Kyle Glad I could help xD
Bravo Ying-Hsueg!!! Magnifique interpretation!!!
My favorite version of this piece. I think the room gives a very nice acoustic reverberation that adds to the effect nicely.
Beautiful performance expressing power and lyricism in this work of Xenakis.
Wow, you play this wonderful piece like it was written just for you. Amazing.
Wonderful ! Brilliant ! Terrific !!!
You're a wonder woman 😉🙃🙂
A 'straight from the heart' performance, congrats Ying-Hsueh.
Ying-Hsueh, love you! Xenakis, love you!

Por qué tiene tan poquitas vistas, merece millones..
Porque difícil de apreciar.
cool
I want to know what those gongy-bells are at 12:00!

Ying-Hsueh Chen
I love that you were able to blend in a traditional chinese sound palette into this piece. Very cool choices! :)
Noone gets past Mortensen's (or Gualda's) instrumentation - I also didn't :). But great live-performance, congrats!
They need more then one camera angle , you can't tell what kind of percussion instrument she's playing on .
Mesmerizing stuff! (Although i suspect being so beautiful doesn't do any harm either!) No score to read from: is it all from memory or is there an element of improvisation built in, I wonder?
Thank you for your words. There is no improvisation in this piece:) It is in fact quiet systematically composed. Enjoy your day.
Ying-Hsueh Chen It's fantastic how well you understand percussion music! Xenakis music is made just for your talent!
Nevetséges az ütemhez való hozzáállása.
I love you
😆🎵😁😍
Très belle interprétation, la pièce dépend beaucoup du type d'instruments choisis.
Interesting work. I bet the gestures are notated - they seem almost appropriate.
Listen, like I did, with the app called "Realtek HD Audio" in the "cave" style. WOW!

Le falta decay al bombo grande jjjjjj
Dynamics ?
mistaken comments. it is not tonal or modal music. it is not subjective music, alias nor music. sound art. mathematics, not passion.

Dramatic but redundant, imo, sorry……
Mr.Ueno plays much better.
This is rubbish!
she cant take that serious herself. always sad to see what musicians have to do nowdays for money
what are you even blabbering about?
she is actually not get any money for this concert. It sounds like you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
