      @@yingpercussion You're welcome :)
      And don't worry about smile or not during a performance. This is only bullshits about people that can't be able to focus their mind and feelings on what their are listening.

    My favorite version of this piece. I think the room gives a very nice acoustic reverberation that adds to the effect nicely.

    So beautiful. How I wish the bass frequencies were also present in the recording, I can literally feel what that large bass drum must sound and feel like standing right in front of it.

    I don't understand how Xenakis wrote this. how he could imagine the set up and everything. Can you really understand every instrument so well ? it boggles the mind

    • @longlifetometal1995
      @longlifetometal1995 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Julien M actually, the Psappha set-up is to be built by the interpret, Xenakis just drew general lines to guide the interpret and the meanings of most accents arw to be chosen also by the interpret. Just go to a music faculty library, they should all have the music sheet for this. Check out in the large-sized documents though, the original version is written quite big

    Mesmerizing stuff! (Although i suspect being so beautiful doesn't do any harm either!) No score to read from: is it all from memory or is there an element of improvisation built in, I wonder?

    • @yingpercussion
      @yingpercussion  11 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Thank you for your words. There is no improvisation in this piece:) It is in fact quiet systematically composed. Enjoy your day.

    Ying-Hsueh Chen...you got class in looks & ability to make many percussion items tell a story...Asian style. This is a cool piece of music.

    mistaken comments. it is not tonal or modal music. it is not subjective music, alias nor music. sound art. mathematics, not passion.

    Aquí la música culta pierde por 5-2 contra la música inculta, la de los bateristas de rock; citemos algunos que le 14 mil vueltas a esta parida de un puto cuarto de hora: mi abuela, Ginger Baker, John Bonham, Ian Paice, Ramiro Penas...y así hasta 2000 o 3000 bateristas autorizados para pasar por encima de estas gilipolleces

    All this effort and the drums just don`t swing. And then you see this five year old African kid swinging his selfmade instrument that it makes you dance.
