Have u ever thought about growing shiitake mushrooms 🍄? All u need to do is inoculate the logs with the mycelium and wait for 8 months, the chestnut logs are amazing for it.
When I was young woman in my 30s I had to split wood by hand for eight years to keep warm all winter. It was good exercise but watching this machine makes me cry. I sure could have used it. You have such good equipment you’re so lucky you can afford it. After 8 years of wood cutting, splitting, stacking, carrying I bought a house without a fireplace! I Miss it but don’t miss it!😂❤
You can be proud of yourself Kathleen what an amazing woman you were/are ! Better to look back on your life and see productivity then see nothing " when the going gets tough , the tough get going" !
They're not lucky, they've just worked really hard and still do. They also work with sponsorship companies like many other business savvy youtubers, they deserve everything good that they have. 👍🙂
Brilliant vid guys, a total update on everything, first "sooty" Theo who needs to count the rings on that chestnut tree, secondly that log splitter while being a game changer isn't something that you can lose concentration on while in use, a bit scary really, glad to see Bee out and about with miss broody and the goats, great lawn mowers and trimmers, oh and next time you do the chipping Theo it would be an idea to put a plastic sheet down to catch the chips for easier distribution to the site where wanted, I do it with everthing that I need moved, much easier to drag than push a wheelbarrow, as you get older and weaker you work out alternatives to help you achieve your goals, love to you both, cheers!!!🥰😘😘💕👌👍👍💪🐈🐈⬛🐐🐔🐓🌳☕🫖
You always choose relaxing and calming music, its beautiful. Your editing is fantastic, you do not keep the music on when either of you are talking so your voices come over so nice and clear which is very thoughtful. Its great to see you both so happy and good to see Bea looking so healthy. Thank you for your lovely episodes every week.
I must say sir, you and your wife’s work ethic is truly remarkable and a testament to your character. In my comments it is not my intent to sound condescending and I’d pray you not think me of being so. With that said… you aware that all downed trees need their bark peeled as soon as possible? Its removal lessens the possibility of rot due to trapped moisture or bug infestation. Over time, they would undermine its structural integrity and value, particularly as some of those species are known for their density, and the beauty found in both their colour and grain patterns. I offer you both blessings of peace, prosperity, love and compassion.
I loved the song used during the chipping. I live in Appalachia in North Carolina. I also lived out west for awhile and couldn’t wait to get back to the Appalachians. I completely understand that you have priorities that the outside world wouldn’t understand. You have a huge property for 2 people to manage. You’re doing amazing things.
I live in the Algarve in Portugal and absolutely love watching your videos, youve taken on a massive project and you both keep smashing it with such a positive attitude! Brilliant 💪 ❤
love the chestnut rounds if you cut each on half you could make two cutting boards or one cutting board and one lap table (for a laptop or maybe breakfast in bed 🤷♀️) and two end tables with the other one
Hello Theo and Bee, love your passion for the land, environment and your properties.❤️ Having watched your journeys for several years, must say I believe your instincts are pretty good so of course congratulations and well done on all the projects we have been privileged to share with you through your Videos👍🏻👏🏻🙏🏻. Theo, I admire your tireless energy, skillsets, recycling, repurposing and reusing as much as possible and determination👍🏻👏🏻Bee so wonderful to see your smiles as you care and love for your furbabies and feather babies. THANK YOU BOTH FOR SHARING 🙏🏻👏🏻❤️🙋🏻♀️🇦🇺
I’m not sure how long I’ve been following your journey but every episode makes me happy. I’m so glad you’re able to lead this life you’ve made for yourselves, and I’m always grateful you continue to share it with us ❤
Theo, im very impressed by the way you work.... its hard, physical work, every day! You sure are an example to generations following you. Well done young man....well done!
I'm really glad to see the smarter not harder and that you are both looking after yourselves and each other. Too many people take doing things to an extreme as a positive. It's unrealistic and not sustainable. You both work hard but also understand your limits and (mostly...I'm looking at you and your back Theo) working within them. 🫶
Theo as much as I love watching you saw things up, I just found out I can press on my mouse button to speed up your video, actually made me laugh. We have wild Boar here to in Italy. Haven't come into my yard. Too much land around us for them to explore!
Understand your opening comment. Being a caretaker of your property is the ability to evaluate and take care of the areas that are more pressing. I only care for 1.5 acres but there is always work to do inside and out. That doesn't include general daily things like clean, cook, laundry. And there is always weather to work around. Looking forward to future videos.
I live my land owning/management dreams through you guys, so thank you for all the wonderful videos. I especially love these videos with jobs about the property and animal updates. So satisfying seeing you tidy up the dead trees, using the chipper and the splitter. Can’t believe how much wood you got out of it!! Also love the music choices. Great video as always ❤
I’m EXHAUSTED just by watching ALL the work you did with those trees! My dream would be to someday stay a night ( or two) on Miracle Mountain in the stone building….you NEVER know what life may bring!
Nice projects, good to see you two with your chores. Theo you have some very good forest management projects on the land and fulfilling your desire as a young boy! just so perfect~
Theo you are SO methodical just love your knowledge of the Land & the management plus doing what you love to do! Bee you love growing plants which is therapeutic of course & your goats & chickens are like pets! That tree was very old given the rings? I hope you make something with cedar logs Theo? ❤️🇦🇺🐨🌞
I’m going to say that the farmhouse renovation will take awhile. And a bit of planning. So take your time with that project. Your lovely land will always always benefit from care and attention. It’s all about infrastructure. And like I said before, pitch a tent in that old stone structure. People will come. ❤️
Those round thinks are amazing ,you can really used them for food put on choping boards or just put candles on and decoreted them as rustic stuff i will have milons ideas to used them gorgeous wood ,
🎵 "To every thing, there is a season" 🎶 Theo, chestnut is very resistant to rot, so your 'cookies' could also be useful in the garden, as stepping stones, garden bed edging, maybe steps on some of your slopes...even little patio tables? Winemakers around here use it for stakes and fence posts. It is also highly recommended for building and furniture, as it's so durable. Your splitter and chipper are going to make short work of all that wood. It's a delight to see you both enjoying your work. I hope as the seasons pass, you will take some closeups of your wild plants and mushrooms (from above and below) for ID. I'm so curious to know what grows in your area! Surely you have some lovely treats to enjoy (and some to avoid!); they could be a fun thing to learn about. When I first arrived in France, I made my garden, and was constantly pulling out weeds - now I love to eat them! Next weekend I'll lead my annual Wild Salad Walk, and am really looking forward to seeing what this year's location will have to offer.
That was an old chestnut tree. How beautiful those smaller pieces will smell burning in the fire. Love the idea of furniture from those rounds. Put them in your online store, and they can raise funds for more ❤
Great video as always guys! I think the splitter was a sound investment with all the trees on your property...money well spent. Not sure how 'into' cake you are, but I used to make natural looking cake stands for my customers with two cookies like that and a branch in between the two.
I was thinking what beautiful cutting or charcuterie boards those discs would make! You should oil them up and burn your logo in them and sell them to us! 😉😍 The wood chipper and log splitter are awesome and great investments. Enjoyed checking in with you again this week ❤
the two round pieces remind me of a coffee table my brother gave me when I got my first apt. The little round ones could be like the end tables that went with my coffee table. Quite an easy craft project for you creative two. lol
I really like seeing all the progress you two are making. Those machines you have surely make the work easier and more efficient. It’s always a treat to see Sr. Fernando. Best Of Luck!
More firewood!! Looks easy to count the age on that tree at 13.30, beutiful inside. You can also make a watch to have on the wall. A nice hobby to do. If you like DIY.
Theo, what a great video! I loved driving with you to your work site. There are so many different places to discover. The rounds you cut might be ideal for the new cabin. Great to see Furnando on patrol and all the other animals with Bea. It’s so good to see you happy and in your element. ❤
You need to leave some of those small rounds hole so you have a longer burn in your woodstove so you don’t have to keep getting up and putting wood on the real big ones just split but the little ones you don’t have to split I heat my house with wood for heat and a pellet stove during the day when we’re working when we come home at night we put the woodstove on that’s where I say don’t split all the small rounds then you don’t have to get up to keep putting wood on the fire you have a longer burn
The chestnut- if u can cut into thinner slices, even the smaller diameter ones can be cup coasters, placemats or trivets/potholders, the bigger diameter, with live edge treated, can be bedside tabletop or side table top
It looks like you have so much on your plate. Slow and steady wins the rest. Are you taking reservations for the big cabin ? We want to book it. Hope you guys are doing ok and your flock. Sending you much love💗 Jim , Harriet and Yuki Richmond, Va.
Great videos! Would love to hear the history of Miracle Mountain. It is so well planned out from water to the forests, to fruit trees, roads. It is amazing
Always good to see debris being turned into mulch & firewood. How much did the splitter & chipper cost vice the cost of buying mulch & firewood? Are the tools cost effective?
Any of those burned long pieces are actually great to use in the ground, the char really slows down any rotting. People deliberately burn the wood they use for outdoor building to do just that. The splitter is great for larger amounts of wood to split. You might want to rent a sawmill first, to see whether it's worth buying, repairs, storage etc. They're not small machines with the rails extending several feet.
Boar can be dangerous, be careful. Here they have hunt clubs to help keep them under control but even then they are still over populated and cause lots of damage.

There are manual splitters similar to his, not many people know of their existence😊 It’s easier than splitting by axe, you need to apply less force.
They're not lucky, they've just worked really hard and still do. They also work with sponsorship companies like many other business savvy youtubers, they deserve everything good that they have. 👍🙂
❤much love and I enjoy splitting wood but eight years? Oh no 😮

Did anyone doubt Theo knows exactly what needs doing and when?! Looks like a comfortable day for felling a tree!😍🇨🇦
Those beautiful rounds of chestnut would make beautiful side tables.
Great idea!
@theindieprojects - they would also make nice stools for the cabin that you're building.
I was thinking coasters/placemats😊
Be a ,you look so much better in the sun ,and your smile !!! ...how do you feel ? So happy to see you like that warm hugs ...Annie
Theo , you are really well equipped with a small scale machine but still well equipped.❤💯👍
I have said it before and I’ll say it again! This land is so happy to have you taking care of it! Your intuition and knowledge are impeccable.
Thank you ❤️
No matter the weather the work gets done!!!!!!!🎉
Cheers guys 🙏🙏🙏
I live in the Algarve in Portugal and absolutely love watching your videos, youve taken on a massive project and you both keep smashing it with such a positive attitude! Brilliant 💪 ❤
Make two stools for your cabin. That is beautiful wood. Both of you are so talented and hard working. It’s a joy to watch your videos ❤
Greetings from Brandenburg 🇩🇪🍺🍺👍
love the chestnut rounds if you cut each on half you could make two cutting boards or one cutting board and one lap table (for a laptop or maybe breakfast in bed 🤷♀️) and two end tables with the other one
Bea and Theo, I love seeing your videos of miracle Mountain. It seems like a beautiful place in all seasons. ❤
Thanks so much 🙏
So happy to see the two of you together! Bea you are looking great! Theo you can see the calmness In you with Bea back!
Those cookies would make very nice bar stool seats, with some rebar for legs.
It's a great watch as you prep the land. Keeper of the land, you own. Wonderful ❤
❤️
The chipper and wood splitter are epic!

Thank you ❤️
One of the last vivid memory I have working with my dad is using the log splitter cutting wood for the winter. Thank you for the great videos.
❤️
That large trunk at 13:30 would make a lovely side table.
Those two cookies you cut from the fallen chestnut tree would make a nice multi tier table.
Your wood splitter does an amazing job, so quick! The chickens and goats look so happy! 😊
Loving life ❤️
Absolutely for the chopping board! And I also love thin slices of wood as decoration on the wall
Theo as much as I love watching you saw things up, I just found out I can press on my mouse button to speed up your video, actually made me laugh. We have wild Boar here to in Italy. Haven't come into my yard. Too much land around us for them to explore!

Chestnut wood is beautiful, I’ve never seen any.
We have an electric log splitter. Best thing we ever bought.
Wow, Theo you have all the gear to dispatch the trees! Makes life so easy Im sure.
The right gear makes the job much easier 👍

Furniture for your little cabin!!!
So much beautifull job, do not forget those weels for that decoration ,,
I still chuckly when I see the chaps ;p
Theo, I'd love to see you make those two chestnut 'cookies' into little side tables with tripod legs. Think they would look amazing 😊
Have good time, and wish good health to Bee
It’s good to leave some piles of sticks for wildlife, and they can look good if they’re neat piles.
Those chesnut disks would make lovely seats ❤ the channel
I love your rooster. He has such beautiful markings. Lovely bird.
Theo you are SO methodical just love your knowledge of the Land & the management plus doing what you love to do! Mount some pictures on those nice rounds of wood. Instant woodsy frames.
I immediately thought stools for those cookies, think they are really nice.
That splitter is one great tool!!😃
It’s a game changer!
Everyone always thinks there the expert on the internet 🙄 you're doing great Theo and Bee, ignore the nutters who think they know more than you xxx
Theo you should have put down a tapt to collect all that shavings from the wood chipped it's good for mulch for a garden

Great forestry Theo. Bee you look after the animals so well. 💚
What an awesome Log Splitter you have Theo, that amount in 30 minutes would have taken hours by hand. Thanks for the updates ❤️💙
Very interesting to see how all your tools make your work easier. Also nice to see Bea out with the animals! You know how to manage your property.
It is your Happy Place for all of you, beasties too ‼️🇨🇦
Bee is so glad to see you so alive and well, good job Theo, you two are amazing people, God bless
I love to use those big wood cookies for plant pot slabs and stepping stones in the garden. So many uses for beautiful wood.
Stepping stones is such a lovely idea!
Theo, I so admire your work ethic. My husband always said, it's better to wear out than rust out. Won't be any rust on you.
Great video as always guys! I think the splitter was a sound investment with all the trees on your property...money well spent. Not sure how 'into' cake you are, but I used to make natural looking cake stands for my customers with two cookies like that and a branch in between the two.

Love the piece playing while Theo is at the wood chipper? If it’s not too much trouble can you let me know artist/title? Thanks. 😍🇨🇦
How about a couple of small tables from the big chestnut slabs?
Just as you should! I came from the mountains everything was done by the seasons. Big hugs you guys, keep on trucking!
Really enjoyed watching your do your chipping and wood splitting. Great machines! Lovely land!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really like seeing all the progress you two are making.

I find that wood splitter terrifying!
It’s scary if you’re not careful!
Thank goodness for all your equipment!
Thank You for sharing this!❤
I just love how Bee names her chickens and talks about them like they’re people. I thought I was the only weird person who thinks of chicken as pets.
All my animals are part of the family, they have names and personalities. Even birthdays are remembered if known!
Theo, you are doing a grand job but please please please get yourself some tuff cut gloves for safety.
Love your videos and enjoy watching them. May the lord bless and protect you and Bea and Miracle Mountain and doing clean up from the wind
Puedes hacer dos taburetes o mesas auxiliares con las galletas del castaño, solo con comprar unas patas metálicas te quedarían genial
Always good to see debris being turned into mulch & firewood. How much did the splitter & chipper cost vice the cost of buying mulch & firewood? Are the tools cost effective?

Hard at work always👍
You already know!
