2024 California Wildflowers Super Bloom Was a Disappointment!

Nothing happened at Antelope Valley (no poppies) this year!!! Too much rain.

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park:
Named after the Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza and the Spanish word for sheep, "borrego," due to the region's historical importance as a grazing area for bighorn sheep.
Julian has a rich history of being haunted, with several buildings and locations in town rumored to be haunted by ghosts from the town's past.
Etiquette for Visiting National Parks:
Respect Wildlife: Observe wildlife from a distance and do not feed or disturb them.
Leave No Trace: Pack out all trash and leave the park as you found it or better.
Stay on Designated Trails: Help preserve the fragile desert ecosystem by sticking to established trails and avoiding trampling vegetation.
Pet-Friendly Tips:
Dogs are welcome in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park park but must be kept on a six-foot leash at all times. Carry plenty of water for your pet, as the desert can be extremely hot and dry. Be mindful of the temperature, as the desert heat can be dangerous for pets. Avoid hiking with your dog during the hottest parts of the day. Your dog is welcome on a six-foot leash in the campground and on the many dirt roads in the Park. Common courtesy and safety regulations require that you keep your dog under control at all times.
