Thank you sooo much Joe, this is very much appreciated!! I spent several years living in England, one of the few live concerts I took in whilst there was Marc Bolan & T Rex. Not a huge amphitheater type venue, but rather a much smaller place, maybe holding a thousand, give or take ,T. Rex fans :D There must have been a dozen people on stage with him! Great lighting, great sound, great vibe, what a memory. Thanks again Joe for taking your time to do this video
Spot on Joe. I transcribed this song donkey's years ago and always wondered if I was playing it right. Your lesson confirms that I was. Also I used barre chords instead of open. I thought it sounded much better. Thanks for sharing this mate
The chorus is G / Am / E. Go find any demo video where the guitar is not drowned out and you'll hear it. Or, if you prefer, find a Tony Visconti interview where he explains it.
You have some great songs to learn, Joe. I love your channel. The only problem is choosing which songs to learn! I'm guessing that concentrating on one before moving onto the next is best, or is it good to have frequent changes? I suppose it depends on the individual.
I always say, if you are learning concentrate on making sure you learn full song. No good to have lots of bits and pieces and not being able to play anything through. And don’t choose songs that are too difficult
@@JoeMurphysGuitarlessons Good advice. Thank you. This is very easy to play and sounds great. I'll try and master this first. Thank you for your great channel 👍
mark j Hey Mark, thanks for taking the time to get back to me. To the best of my knowledge the second guitar just plays the riff with stabbed chords as I mentioned at 1.50 mins into the vid. Im sure if you listen to the record, with that in mind you will be able to figure it out. Unfortunately I don't get time to revisit tunes that much. Although I am building a website which will feature bonus content. Very early days at the moment but you can take a look here joesguitarlessons.weebly.com/ and who knows you could be the very first person to contribute to my blog.. All the best Joe
You might be surprised to learn that on the chorus, the song moves to an A minor, not an A major. On the record you don't really notice it because of the bigness of the chorus but A minor it is. Producer Tony Visconti said so too!
+Andro Meder Can't say I'm too surprised by that, like you say, when you have all the other instruments playing the A, the C note in the Am chord, is kind of lost. This kind of thing can be commonplace in the studio. I don't think I will be changing the way I play it anytime soon. However some people might like to try it, personally I don't think it works very well if you are playing it on your own.
In the chorus section it is a n A minor as Tony Visconti has said previously. Just watched a Top Of The Pops where he is clearly visually and audibly playing A minor. He also plays a five string E power chord. Dig it people! Groove on!
Cheers Joe. Nice easy to watch video, it’s all about having funny, and you keep it simple. Thanks again. 👍

Your welcome mate, glad it helped
mmmm I often wondered how it was done- thanks I will have a go myself Thanks Joe
Always, always always do a demo at the beginning of a lesson. It lets the "student" know what they are learning....it gives them direction.
Always, always, always try and find a polite way to advise someone who has taken the time and effort to help you and has asked for nothing in return.
Thank you sir 👍
Always, always acquaint yourself with copyright rules before sounding off on a nice helpful guy's video.
Very helpful and concise lesson.
Cheers Rich
