Hi, I’m rewatching this after seeing red herrings Wilbur arg video. I don’t think this is part of it, but I did notice some things after rewatching it. The bow tie is only there until the end of the first chorus. Then he looses it, then he unbuttons his top button on his shirt. He also eventually looses his glasses (ooo the glasses, I. Faiker???) I think this is just a representation of the character in this song’s mental health deteriorating as he ages but it was still interesting to notice. My conclusion: this is not part of the arg. The character in the song is much more cocky than R. Faiker seems to be, and also the character development does not fit with red herring’s theory. "I Am Very Smart" - We're introduced to our character, an arrogant young lad who slowly but surely falls back down to earth and faces the facts of reality I'm in love with an E-Girl - Our character somewhere between his teens and early 20's falls in love with an unnamed woman who just sits in front of a camera and gets money, this E-girl makes it plain to our hero that she is not interested in him, which sends him reeling Nice Guy ballad - We learn the name of our previously unknown E-girl to be Sarah, and our hero appears to have made contact with Sarah multiple times, resulting in a restraining order against him, during the time of which he decides to write her a song and send via voice message on her phone. Your New Boyfriend - This was the most "on the nose" song so far: Our hero is 26 and working an office job. While this may be a good thing for our hero, unfortunately he has not learned from previous mistakes. Still enthralled with finding any form of reciprocated compassion via internet women, our hero constantly harasses a girl by emailing her explicit and invasive messages. Personally, I do not think this girl is Sarah as we have already mentioned previously Sarah has had restraining orders placed on him and cut off all contact with our hero. At this point in time our hero has divulged any and all spare time into investing in the life of this girl, watching her every video, reading her every blog, liking her every post. Our hero has built up the delusion that he has known this girl for a long time, longer than anyone else, and thus deserves to be with her. That said, it appears that our hero will be once again disappointed to find that his new obsession has a new boyfriend, which triggers the events happening in the song. Our hero begins to develop habits worse than the ones he had during his obsession with Sarah, with comments like "The one who took you away from me." "I want to smell your hair." "I've got the key, he's just a doormat." "Your new boyfriend is an arsehole." you get the picture. But the obsession doesn't end with just the girl- Our hero has also begun investing a lot of time into thinking about the new boyfriend. I mean a-LOT of time. Eventually, the girl can't take this stress anymore and replies to one of his emails by attaching the legal documents of another restraining order to them. The Internet Ruined Me - Our hero is on hard times, what with the violation of his restraining order and inability to make human connections anymore, all of which he decides to blame the internet for, specifically the E-Girls who have rejected him so many times. It is during this time that our hero has an awakening, and decides to go into a career in music, and his first song is about how much he got screwed. Karen, please come back I miss the kids - It's years later and our hero is in his 30's, he had met a pretty woman named Karen and settled down with her, even having kids together, but Karen turns out to be a gold digger. She leaves our hero for a hot, young, Brazilian yoga instructor. Our hero slowly loses all of his possessions either by divorce or pawning them off so he can afford to eat that month. In his final fit of rage, he pays to have a song recorded and sent to his ex-wife and goes missing the following week.
Now add on “The internet ruined me” after “I’m in love with an E-girl” and we have a kid with depression the went after a girl, got a restraining order, got even more depressed, and is then, years later, manipulated by a women and is using his last bit of money to get a song out to ruin her life. Well done Mr. Soot
This song perfectly describes the “gifted kid”, the child who found things easy in school to start with. Let me explain. An extremely common theme with children who start off school doing better than the other children in their class is for the adults around them (parents, teachers, etc) to tell them things like how their going to do so well in life and how their going to go through school with top marks. This all leads to them thinking that they have to go through school being a straight A student, too marks on everything and get a successful job and career. This starts off easy, they are young and know all the answers. They get the impression that this is as hard as it will always be. The other children have to study the try and pass but they can play and relax as much as they want while getting top marks. After some years (amount depending on person but usually around start of teenage years) they find themselves struggling, other people are doing better than them. The same people they used to think so lowly of in term of knowledge -the way they have been brought up to think- beating them at the thing they valued most. They still crave the good marks, the not having to put in the effort, and the attention that comes with it. But they now have to study to earn it and that is something that sounds so simple to so many people who have been brought up to do it but when you’ve never had to read through a textbook outside of class or take notes or lose sleep for your grade it makes it difficult to start. The once gifted kid will slowly get worse grades and not be able to understand why, and will face the burden of not living up to what they’ve been told they would their entire lives. They are a failure

"I Am Very Smart" - We're introduced to our character, an arrogant young lad who slowly but surely falls back down to earth and faces the facts of reality
I'm in love with an E-Girl - Our character somewhere between his teens and early 20's falls in love with an unnamed woman who just sits in front of a camera and gets money, this E-girl makes it plain to our hero that she is not interested in him, which sends him reeling
Nice Guy ballad - We learn the name of our previously unknown E-girl to be Sarah, and our hero appears to have made contact with Sarah multiple times, resulting in a restraining order against him, during the time of which he decides to write her a song and send via voice message on her phone.
Your New Boyfriend - This was the most "on the nose" song so far: Our hero is 26 and working an office job. While this may be a good thing for our hero, unfortunately he has not learned from previous mistakes. Still enthralled with finding any form of reciprocated compassion via internet women, our hero constantly harasses a girl by emailing her explicit and invasive messages. She leaves our hero for a hot, young, Brazilian yoga instructor. Our hero slowly loses all of his possessions either by divorce or pawning them off so he can afford to eat that month. In his final fit of rage, he pays to have a song recorded and sent to his ex-wife and goes missing the following week.

This song perfectly describes the “gifted kid”, the child who found things easy in school to start with. Let me explain.
An extremely common theme with children who start off school doing better than the other children in their class is for the adults around them (parents, teachers, etc) to tell them things like how their going to do so well in life and how their going to go through school with top marks.
This all leads to them thinking that they have to go through school being a straight A student, too marks on everything and get a successful job and career.
This starts off easy, they are young and know all the answers. They get the impression that this is as hard as it will always be. The other children have to study the try and pass but they can play and relax as much as they want while getting top marks.
After some years (amount depending on person but usually around start of teenage years) they find themselves struggling, other people are doing better than them. The same people they used to think so lowly of in term of knowledge -the way they have been brought up to think- beating them at the thing they valued most.
They still crave the good marks, the not having to put in the effort, and the attention that comes with it. But they now have to study to earn it and that is something that sounds so simple to so many people who have been brought up to do it but when you’ve never had to read through a textbook outside of class or take notes or lose sleep for your grade it makes it difficult to start.
The once gifted kid will slowly get worse grades and not be able to understand why, and will face the burden of not living up to what they’ve been told they would their entire lives. They are a failure
