Not as cold as I though Uk would be this year in Dec 😮 The “Asian” pear tree is just like us Asian, we’re delighted when it’s not so cold 😂 Can you cover the flowers with plastic at night in case snow would fall? I only saw primrose in March 😅 Everything comes way too early! The yellow cotton trees I have also start to have some flowers, normally they bloom between end of Jan & Feb 😵💫
Yes, it's unusually warm. I'm not complaining at all, but cold, crisp, snowy days seem so much more Christmassy. There's still plenty of the Winter left for icy nights, though. I will probably cover the tree up when we get frost, but it has never helped in the past. It makes it hard for insects to get to the flowers. I have tried hand pollinating, but I think the cold just makes it extra hard for fruits to develop.
Lol yes that early cold snap followed by a mild spell has thrown some plants into confusion 😂
