Canada Road Trip: Best Things To Do In The Northwest Territories
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 8 ต.ค. 2017
- In this video, we share some of the best things to do in the Northwest Territories, including Yellowknife, Inuvik, and Tuktoyaktuk!
Welcome to the NWT!
With more than one million square kilometres of land area and a population of less than 50,000, the Northwest Territories is about as wild as it gets. It's certainly not an easy area to visit (many places are fly-in, many roads are gravel, and distances are vast) but for those who make the effort, there are incredible things to experience.
With boreal forest, arctic tundra, some of Canada's greatest waterfalls, a vibrant indigenous culture, and boundless wilderness, this is an adventurer's paradise!
We explored the NWT from August 16 - September 1st, 2017!

Canada's Road to 150 is a 150-day Canada-wide multi-media road trip celebrating Canada's 150th birthday by exploring the uniqueness of this country provincially and collectively while answering the question; What makes Canada special?
We will drive to and through every driveable province and territory, showcasing Canada's natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds, including local celebrities, immigrants, refugees, and everyday rural and urban Canadians. Our aim is to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada's tourism to Canadians and to the world.

Wow! So beautiful!... I was planning to go to Yellowknife and by searching some reviews and blogs about it, my searched brought me here in your channel. Thank you so much for sharing! this was very helpful for the tourist. God bless!
That's awesome! When you planning to go? I'm sure you know by now but we also have a blog mustdocanada.com
Must Do Canada I was planning to go this December to spend Christmas... as much as I want to visit during summer my schedules just don’t work for now. I loved nature so much. I’ve been around Pulpit rock, Trolltunga, and Bergen Norway. Thank you for the info! It helped me so much!
@@livelikeitsspring01 Oh wow, cold haha. I haven't been but the northern lights at that time could be spectacular
Must Do Canada I learned this while living in Norway, “there’s no bad weather only bad clothing” and I add up... bad timing as well” 😉 LOL 😆 that’s the reason as well I wanted to go! The Northern Lights, because I wasn’t able to see it when I was in Norway. 😊
@@livelikeitsspring01 True! I would like to go. I mean, I did grow up in Northern Alberta after all. But yes, the lights are tricky. Everything has to be the right timing. Clear skies, activity, no bright moon, etc
I dream about territories and Arctic. One day...
You'll make it there!
STOP DREAMING AND GO !
Come on up. It’s cloud berry season now
Yea ffs come visit
@@Nativemiles comments like these make me want to come visit the land and the people. Thank you for the warm invites
For someone that doesn't fly and hates cold weather like me, thank you so much for making this.
haha in that case, travelling by video is the way to go! :) You're welcome
Wow!! that's also the reason Indians love Canada♥️
The north west territories was always in my interest to visit since phones came out with world maps. After watching this video I have committed to go next year in 2023!

I have lived in the Northwest Territories for 46 years. The Territories is a beautiful place. I worked in the exploration industry and I saw a lot of wilderness. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

This is awesome
Thanks!
I wonder how you guys only have 50K subscribers. It should've been over a million, considering the quality of your videos. Best of luck both of you! Love from Pakistan!
We wish! :)
50k is the same as the population of the Northwest Territories lmao
Lovely video, thx guys! One point for you to consider: I had t o make an effort to slow down in speaking when I came to Canada: Cdns found it hard to catch everything I said. So, for the enthusiastic young lady: I'd suggest doing the same, it'd be a pity of some can't quite catch all your words (because of too your rapid speech?). Keep up the good work!
Northern Lights! NWT offers the best Northern Lights viewing in the world.
You can see them just about anywhere up there, in the dead of Sub-Zero winter, if you dare go.
I love Canada, love from The Netherlands
Hey! We were there in 2015. Hope to come back one day
@@MustDoCanada oh, nice what parts did you visit?
Большое спасибо за ролик! Однозначно лайк и подписка на ваш канал! Было очень интересно посмотреть (если что я включил субтитры с переводом на русский язык)! Только в следующий раз делйте свой рассказ поподробнее, пожалуйста!

I live in North West territorys and I've been in almost every community and I live in Inuvik and i lived in yellowknife
That's awesome! Is there many?
Seems like a bad life to me. Why live where there is nobody?

The bipedal bear are huge there.
dope
Thanks!
wait for me canada im.coming...
Look out NWT - Inuvik and Tuktoyatuk - and a body plunge into the Arctic Ocean. I'll be there in two weeks via Alaska.
Awesome! Have fun!
@@MustDoCanada did you get to drive on the new road to Tuktoyatuk and how were the conditions?
@@oriolesfan129 We got to drive on it before it was finished. But it' a dirt road, so if it's dry, it's good and if it's raining, it can be a bit sloppy. It's only 1.5 - 2 hours from Inuvik, so the main one to be cautious about is the Dempster.
@@MustDoCanada Gotcha, thanks for the reply. Yup safety is key to having fun on the Dempster. Had an absolutely flawless drive to the Yukon/NWT border in 2017. Also an absolutely flawless drive on the Dalton too.
The Northwest Territories are sort of like unexplored lands even though they’re explored
Totally! And if you go deep North, they're practically unexplored at all
How did you book the seaplane for enjoying the Nahanni national parks wonderful view?
If you google Simpson Air, you can call or email them to set it up :)
When the guy jumped into the water holding his nose I thought of AJ Hawk.
haha why is that?
@@MustDoCanada sorry 😂

What time of year was this? I'd love to drive our van up there one day. I'm sure I could not afford all the side trips but definitely would be amazing to see. I'm a bit deterred but bugs though. These shots don't show that side of the trip!
haha. This was end of August. We actually didn't see much bugs. August and the fall are good times to avoid bugs. If you go in the spring, we hear its very bad haha
At 2:13 you featured the camping barge you spent the night in a cove on. Do you have anymore info on that. I’d love to do it.
Thats Yellow Dog Lodge! :)
We’re you ever challenged by anyone for flying your drone in any of the parks you visited? I plan on bringing my DJI Mini 2 with us.
We actually had permits. Its quite sparse in many, but the risk imo is that they can fine you for seeing it later… on TH-cam, etc.
May it never be spoiled..
We hope so too
