Just found your channel and subscribed. I decided to comment on this video because I have this kit in my stash. I love the changes you made, looks super sharp with the new wheels.
I'm always in awe of people who can freehand a dashboard. I try, but I see now, I need to break out a finer brush. I just bought this model and I'm going to start on it in a day or so. I also built it when I was a kid. My fav 'Vette. A classic.
This will be my first build requiring painting and all this extra customization work as the old builds were simply putting tires on rims and screwing the undercarriage to the body and after watching this video I’m super excited and already looking forward to my second and third build and I haven’t even started this one yet. Awesome video
Absolutely beautiful build my friend, really like the colour of it. Basically i like the whole exterior look. That is what i say to myself, every mistake makes you better. Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work.
Great content, I'm a sore loser when I make mistakes in modelling but it's true that you need to learn from it, and try to improve as a result of your mistakes.
Watching you work on the IP detailing - every time you'd stop I'd think it was perfect, and then you'd grab the brush and make it "perfecter."☺ I wish my hands were that steady. I haven't used flocking much so my opinion doesn't shoulder much weight, but I might have used a medium to dark grey, just to make the seats, console and IP poo. The build is coming along well.👍
And one thing I think… The AMT kits have some very cool details that other kits don’t have.. What’s your take? I know everyone love Revelle and Tamia… but AMT… does okay.
AMT does okay, but I wish they would just fit better. One thing that is good about AMT is that they have a wide variety of kits that other companies do not have.
@@ScaledDownCustoms Thank you my man for your thoughts… I love mathematics.,, There’s something about a model that makes my mind at ease…Thank you so much Sir…. You are one of the top modelers in the world right now… you for responding… ✌️ your the KING.
I'm just getting into building models and I got this car and I'm not experienced enough to go on without instructions and I noticed it said "enlarge rear wheel openings for drag slicks" and was wondering if someone could give me some tips on how to do so
The kit is not super great as far as fit goes which is one of the reasons I decided to try some modifications that I had not tried before. Just have fun with it and build it how you want.
Well, I figured since there was no gas filler hose, no oil in the engine, no internal engine parts, and that it's a model, that I would enjoy building it how I wanted to.
I have come to the realization… I build some pretty nice models but I need to be able to use an airbrush to make it to that next level. I don’t the wet sanding and all of that and the airbrush just gives you that next level finish.
@@ScaledDownCustoms I want to buy one… Money is no object… would you buy cheap to learn and then go next level… I already know the answer… just asking… but love the connection with the brush…. It’s so much more… I don’t know… that’s probably because I have never used air brush… the paint… just looks like it goes on so lightly and has great coverage…
That is up to you. There are a lot of good entry level airbrushes and as you are probably not doing super detail paintings, entry level is fine. There is also something to be said for "you get what you pay for" though. I started with a Badger single action and then went to an Iwata Eclipse double action. I would say that if you are going to start learning airbrushing, just start with a double action brush.
@@ScaledDownCustoms Getting one for Christmas… I hope… 😉😉😉…Great information…will pass along… And I have achieved some pretty good detail with a 000 brush and a toothpick… I have noticed with an airbrush everywhere has to be taped off for separation… could you recommend a strong tape…. That stops bleeding through and things of that. Nature?
For small detail painting, a good brush and toothpicks are great. I use Tamiya brand tapes for masking. They have good edge control and are not tacky to bull up paint upon removal.
I love the fact you’re not afraid to tell us the issues you have. Most guys make it seem seamless and everything works perfectly. Great videos.
Damn the Rose paint looks fantastic sir.
Thanks
nice recovery on the hood
Thank you
Impressive when you're painting by hand 😱
Thank you
WOW, now that paint job was awesome! I love how you customise models, your craft is amazing
Thank you.
A stunning model. Special shout out for the dash and the wheels. Wow!
Thank you

Something I noticed when he painted the dashboard was that he used the side of the brush instead of the tip on most of the details.
Yes. For some of those small raised areas, I will sometimes use the flat of the brush rather than the tip.
WOW! ... Great work..
Thanks

Great job. Don't be discouraged by the debonder experience - I've learned from it as well.😉

Awesome work, would suggest more overall light when doing the photo at the end
Thanks for the tip.

Now that is a beautiful color!
Thank you. The video and photos do not do it justice but in sunlight the color really pops.

What kind of paint brand was the Chevrolet black rose from.
That was a Gravity Colors USA brand.
I saw you paint those gauges but I don't believe it. Some kind of photo editing thingy.
No photo editing thingies going on.
Any advice. I'm starting on this project

Why get rid of the fuel filler cap on the read deck? Is this car electric?

Yes, the airbrushing will take your modeling to the next level. I would recommend it.

You do outstanding work far above my current level, but I found the production quality of this kit disappointing.
