    Saw your comment on one of Day9's videos playing C&C and wanted to check out the trailer. I am very impressed with what you are presenting in this trailer, especially seeing the Skrin units made me go like "woah!" I wish you all the best while developing this mod and may the youtube algorithm be on your side! ;)

    Man, I know it'd be incredibly impractical, but I'd give a kidney to see the GLA, USA, China, Yuri, and Japan added as factions as well, that would just be incredible.

      I love the art style of the originals, so not something that interests me, but I can recommend other OpenRA mods, Shattered Paradise and Romanov's Vengeance, which are TS and RA2/YR respectively. They don't merge universes together like CA, but they add lots of new stuff (e.g. Shattered Paradise adds CABAL, Mutants and Scrin as 3rd, 4th and 5th factions).

    Would be nice to have the building tab flash or glow when something is finished being built. Sometimes I'll build a structure but not realize it's done because I've switched to the vehicle or defence tab.
    Also, submarines should engage enemies right in front of them instead of sleeping until my sub pen is blown up and I'm notified of the attack (frustrating because I usually have tons of subs in the area, but a unit can just walk right in and they're ignored)
    Amazing mod! But work to be done still.

      The building/defense category button icons do turn yellow when something is complete.
      Submarines default to hold fire stance like all other cloaked units, to give the player control over when they reveal themselves. It's easy enough to switch them to a different stance manually if needed. I could maybe be persuaded that they should default to defensive stance, not sure.

    I have a few questions:
    - how to find someone to play multiplayer? When I'm in the game, the servers are constantly empty and I have the impression that no one is playing
    - what new features are planning in the next versions?
    - can I propose my own suggestions for new units, factions, mechanics?
    - how can I create my own story missions in the game?

      We have a small community - the best place to find people to play with is via our Discord.
      We tend to keep future features secret until we begin dev testing, which also happens via Discord.
      Our Discord has an #ideas channel too, for making suggestions.
      Missions are created firstly in the same way multiplayer maps are created, to place terrain etc. Then you'd need to use lua scripting to actually make objectives, specific AI behaviour etc.

    This is great. However I wish they would make a decent new console or PC C&C. Sadly I play Daily on PC or Xbox generals hour zero. Kane's revenge on Xbox which are phenomenal games. EA DROPPED THE BALLL

    You had my interest until it said "balanced around 1v1 competitive matches."
    May'n, whatever happened to team games? It seems this project enjoys the concept of huge battles, what better way to make them more huger with more players? 😮‍💨

      Well "balanced around 1v1 competitive matches" doesn't mean "team games are therefore imbalanced".
      I would argue that balancing for 1v1 is the best way to balance everything else. Team games in CA are a lot of fun when the teams are well matched.

      @@openracombinedarms balance isn't my concern (although I would also disagree with that notion too, but that's not relevant) it's the fact you decided to make the game centered around it.
      This is a big reason why basically every new RTS game that has come out over the last few years has failed. They all want to be the next SC2, but here's the thing; competitive is not what people want to play. Even in SC2, that's not the case. There are more people who play the coop missions than the ladder. And this pattern is similar in other games I play, like SCBW, and WH40K: DoW, basically nobody is playing ladder, it's all team games.
      1v1 competitive with razor sharp balance is not what most players are looking for in an RTS, and definitely not me. I hate playing alone. I want to play with my friends on the same team! But I've played too many RTS games that treat cooperative play as an afterthought. That's why I lost interest, because obviously this game must not be for me or my friends.

      @@lotgc Similarly, "balanced around 1v1" doesn't mean "centered around 1v1".
      I have a group of friends that I've been playing with for the last 5 years and we normally play 4 vs AI or 5 vs AI games. 2v2s and 3v3s also happen regularly. I've personally made dozens of maps that go all the way up to 16 players. There are also a bunch of mini-game maps and co-op missions. On top of that, I've put a lot of work into the AI to make it challenging, which makes team vs AI games a lot of fun.
      All that aside, I don't think it makes sense to balance an RTS around anything other than 1v1, and doing so naturally leads to the game being well balanced for everything else. Balancing in this way is a positive for team games, not a negative.

      @@openracombinedarms alright, I do like the sound of that. But I would strongly recommend in future that you avoid that kind of wording, because that's a really good way to scare people away.
      And I guess you can balance however you please, and if it works, so be it, but I do still think that balancing team games solely around 1v1 competitive performance is not a good idea, because if you watch how people play a team game in StarCraft for example vs how they play a 1v1, they play basically completely differently, so just because something is balanced in 1v1, doesn't mean it is in a team game. A great example has to be the T'au race in DoW 1. They are horrible in 1v1 games, and have one of the lowest win rates of all 9 races, but in team games, suddenly they're phenomenal.

      The resolution is whatever your screen resolution is, and you can zoom out quite a lot further than in the video. 🙂 The old school graphics are great, and although I love some of the newer C&C games (especially C&C3, hence creating a bunch of C&C3 units, and the whole Scrin faction, for this), I still find the originals the best visually. Everything is clearly distinguishable, great for RTS.
