Why isn't the phone plugged into the NTD UNI-V port so you can take advantage of the battery backup if the power fails? Won't the Telstra Gateway be inoperative, and therefore your phone won't work?
I am existing telstra customer I am on the ADSL+ plan and I just recieved my NBN Bundle I already set it up what do I do now? do I have to move to an NBN Plan to get this fast Internet or I just set it up and continue with my day? the internet and phone is working
We have a Telstra wireless phone without provision to connect via phone wires to the modem, how do we program the phone to work with the new conversion kit?
Phone sockets will no longer work? I know exactly what to do to make them useful after the transfer to NBN FTTP or HFC, disconnect the lead in cable from the obsolete phone socket network, and then install a phone socket next to the NBN modem kit, and finally use an RJ11 or RJ12 cable, connect one end to the grey port of the modem and the other end to the new phone socket, your elderly grandmother won't notice any changes to the phone network
This is 100% false advertising. After talking to the sales department, the billing department and my local telstra store for 4 hours. There is no wireless phone offered in the deal. I was told, customers are chosen 'at random' and not all customers receive the handset. Very deceptive. Especially when Telstra advertise this on their website.

It's because Telstra do not like paying the fees they used to charge other providers when they had a monopoly on the copper
