- On July 05, United Kingdom's outgoing Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, apologised to the country after the Conservative Party's defeat in the general election, its worst-ever in recent times, and accepted blame for it. Sunak, in his last speech to the nation as Prime Minister from outside 10 Downing Street, said, "To the country, I would like to say first and foremost, I am sorry. I have given this job my all, but you have sent a clear signal that the government of the United Kingdom must change, and yours is the only judgement that matters. I take responsibility for this loss...Following this result, I will step down as party leader..." The 44-year-old leader said he would step down as leader of the Conservative party, which suffered a landslide loss in the election.

In Bharat I hardly heard a word sorry if any Minister commits mistake & even defeat also never take responsibility on him as his/her work for nation. But in Britain Ex-PM Sishi Sunak taken whole responsibility on his neck due to loss in vote not for any wrongdoing or wrong decision. It is called matured politics & polite in nature.
I see a true example of leadership who account himself fir the loss of elections not like others who throws to others .people can learn from him and indeed he did a really great work for the people of Britain
I believe rishi is using taking accountability to reduce the amount of further criticism he faces. This tactic is highlighted in Dale Carnegie’s world famous book titled how to win friends and influence people written in 1936.
It takes only a strong will person to accept responsibilities for whatever action. You did great in your time as the PM. The world economy in itself is in shambles. Pat your back, sir, and support him for the growth and overall well-being of the United Kingdom. Well done.
