I’m not surprised the Yamaha sucked up that rope, the inlets to the impeller are huge, if your going through a no wake zone full of lilly pads you need some more protection so your impeller isn’t sucking up everything and chopping it like a garbage disposal!
Fizzle 1000 intercooler package. Ribbon delete. Thru hull exhaust for sound. Stage 2 flash with springs, retainers and a 13/18 prop will get you around 86MPH easily
I totally left the on shore cooling open on my old school stand up before. Almost sank the damn thing and blew the head gasket. Had to swim it back from deep in the bay with it sinking. That bilge pump was definitely working hard that day.

Get a Mesh Grate for that ski.. no more problems man. There really good for beaching skis man. Helps keep all the junk out. We use em on all our rental skis at cottonport marina
I ride stand up jet skis I don’t do the waveRunner, but on the lower power unit like what I ruin you will learn and you’ll get experienced when when you suck up something you’ll feel it right away. Hopefully you don’t feel it right away you just feel a lag.

15 yrs in the marine industry dwn here in Clear Lake, TX (77062). I’ve seen more than my fair share of ropes, underwear and fishing line wrapped around prop shafts. Consider yourself lucky when there’s no damage to the strut, packing gland, prop shaft and/or propeller! Oh, and good to see you and your girlfriend are still together. Haven’t seen or heard of her in a while. Was hoping she didn’t take a hike like so many other TH-camr girlfriends. Anyways, great content! Keep it coming!

I live in the Bahamas and bought a 2023 VX Limited SVHO from Miami Jetski. 10 hours in I loan my ski out and they didn't ensure that the drain plugs were tight. 23k down the drain as the intake sucked up water and blew a piston through the block. So it was cheaper to just purchase another 1. U lucked out bro. Lol
We went out this past weekend on our two jet skis and let a friend drive one while pulling a tube and we also sucked up a rope. Had to tow it back about a mile and a half to the dock cause the engine was locked from the rope. We’re new to the jet ski world and I was scared to see the outcome of it until we got home and thankfully I was able to just get the rope out with a knife. I’m really excited to se this kind of content though. Keep it coming boys!! Love this channel all the way from Kingston Ohio
In the Jetski world especially for gulf streamers who cross to the Bahamas the Yami's are usually always the preferred ski. Better hull design and reliability.
Get with brian kirchberger! JP knows him he's a beast with the jetski stuff. One of the best jetski tuners in the world, he tuned and built JP's turbo yamaha you rode.

Before you take any ski in the water it’s always good to start it up on the trailer , quick start , after you ride , start it up for a few seconds also, after you ride in salt water give it a good flush on the hose , I used to like to go to a lake , I like better that style of flush good luck on the build
I noticed that there was water coming out of the ski as soon as you were leaving the dock, and the first thing I thought was the plug(s) weren't in. Glad you found the problem and that it wasn't the rope.
dont go with riva tunes ! use deans team for all your tuning and fizzle parts along with works . only riva parts i have is ride plate gen 2 helps rough water riding and top load intake grate with pump seal kit . also your impeller stock hole shots you will cavitate allot so 13/18 prop from deans and they pitched it for what i had done and i hook n book out the hole . hope this helps i did the piece by piece bolt on by bolt on to see what i gain works pro cooling system was a big help it has a extra cooling port for cyl number 4 also supergllue your injector wires they go into the plug on all cyl . cyl 4 on most yamahas have a issue and de prong and run rough . sorry for the paragraph just what i know about my gp1800 .

Not broke just broken in. I about sunk my gp when it was new too but was a ruptured line. The mods cause more pressure in the cooling system and the hose to the exhaust mani is just rubber.

Love our SVHO, it pulls pretty damn hard. I know it's 50 less HP than the RXP 300, but you still need to hold on smacking that throttle! But I honestly ride the non-supercharged one more often. Still has plenty of fun power and is a fair bit less thirsty. No worries of being out on the lake all day and running out of gas. Plus, the SVHO fuel gauges don't work, not sure if they've fixed that issue since the 2021 models. Mine will read full, then suddenly empty when it's still half full. Not sure why it was only a problem with the SVHO models.
I have went 75 mph on a JetSki and a half to admit it was amazing but almost scary with two people but ever since then I started running to engine JetSki’s and I’ve never had a problem ever since much love from Georgia keep up the good work can’t wait for more videos
15:01 Kyle had you not left that valve open and water hadnt got in there, you would not have noticed the rope around the shaft. so the water getting in there might have been a blessing before something really bad could have happened.
Next time break it in on the trailer . Back trailer into water then let idle for 20 minutes. Let cool. Then 30 minutes at idle to 3000. Let cool. After the 2 cycles your good to go make passes up to 5k. This would allow you to catch any issues on the trailer. And it keeps you pump load consistent during initial break in.
Dude, Fueltech is developing for these things, they already have wiring harness and a tune for it. You can run the same ecu you already have, maybe its worth to check it out

I’m guessing your water in the hull is from the hose inlet. Youre not supposed to leave that plugged in while in use. Doubt you cracked the hull with a bit of rope unless the inlet shaft area got mangled.

spray down your entire engine bay w silicone spray. keep that ocean water from corroding things in there. also make sure you flush the ski after a ride in salt
Transom is leaking. you need to pull it off and reseal it with some 3M 4200 or 5200. Pretty much all yamahas leak. They also cavitate much more than the seadoo. not sure if its pump design or the fact that the motor makes way more torque. I have a 90mph GP1800

When I lived in Oregon the Columbia Drag Boat Association actually had a class just for skis. There were some that were a lot faster than I expected.
Make sure you check that driveshaft that the rope is wrapped around for fishing line also that’ll work it’s way to the seal and blow the seal out too

Never once had that problem and had multiple different svhos since 2015
Highly recommend applying GatorGlide to the hull. I love my GP but it the factory hull coat is way too soft.
