Glad to see more progress 👍. I believe the convention is carpet line down with slight overlap onto the floor then ply floor then vinyl. That’s what I did on my T6. I also use the dodo at duo to sound deaden and insulate the floor but messed up the step height and had to do some fiddling, but has a very different floor pan.
Thank you, I was wondering to insulate the floor but thinking I won’t for the very reason of the floor height with consideration of the step. I too have used dodo deadening and insulation. Nice stuff to work with that deadening.
CAD .....carpet added design . We cut a large lump of heavy cardboard to suit the right side and then the left . We used the smaller section on the driver side
You don’t want it too perfek..as it will expand and contract ever so slightly seasonally. Vinyl first then drop the carpet on top of the minor gappage, same with the panels..you might want to change the carpets at some later date..vinyl should last forever..ever..ever ( sorry). Part of the putting together must include your own flair of mistakes and how you’ve subtly concealed them or adapted to serve another purpose..it’s part of the charm i think. Glad I didn’t change the floor in mine with precut..I’d have a patchwork of cuts and glue everywhere lol. It’s the sticking down that will frustrate the hell out of you.. Looks neat 👍
Hi James. Yes it’s in there, I used ‘dodo’ sound deadening and insulation. It’s quite different from the usual fiber glass type products that most people use.
Tidy, I would cover the ribbed floor with something to absorb resonance while you have the chance if it is not done already. My daily driver is a crew cab T4, ribbed floor came covered already with an anti resonance mat + original vinyl/foam on top, makes a world of difference to road noise compared to my camper conversion from a bog standard van, with closed cell foam insulation, plywood and waterproof laminate floor....now that I know it can be better, I need to lift it all up to put down some deadening matt or mass loaded vinyl mat under.....😉 ye know urself....
@@pdubs7831 it would help a lot i’d say especially with the sticky back stuff that looks like torch on felt .You would have a lot of the the frequencies covered by both.Dodo have a version of it foil covered Hex pattern. It sort of takes the edge off the hum and reduces it. The Dodo mat would reduce the level of hum.I am thinking of covering mine from footwell to tailgate and arches, but it’s bloody expensive...
@@csonics8639 have a look at my list of videos. There’s one of when I did the sound deadening. Sounds like I might have used the one your talking about
Nice job, when scribing i use a small washer work a treat.
Great project! is it finished now?
Great video mate, don't worry to much about the edge, remember after the carpet is in on the walls and panels etc it all looks nicely done

No insulation or sound proofing?
