Hi Chris, awesome coverage! St. Helena/Calistoga (the AVA you went to) is the most popular but also furthest north in Napa and is about a two hour drive taking you through the thick of Napa traffic in the high season. There's a great AVA called Los Carneros that is the southernmost tip of Napa (closest to SF) that is only an hour away and perfect for a day trip. There are a few great wineries there; Ram's Gate if you want to wander around the vineyard and Artesa has a nice viewing terrace (book in advance). FYI that the vast majority of wineries won't let you wander around their vineyards for practical purposes (we tourists would stomp on and destroy their crops :)). Some might do it as part of a guided tour but that is much costlier. Happy to show you around next time you are in the area :) Cheers.
Mathew Benham I don't like wine either.....or many alcoholic beverages hehe. I used to not care that I don't like them but sometimes people makes u feel bad for not doing what the romans do! 😑
Nice one Chris. We found April to be a nice time to visit. A couple of places we like are Gotts Roadside, Kendall-Jackson (Sonoma), The Sharpsteen Museum in Calistoga and Cameo Cinema in St Helena 😀
Dear Chris such a great vedio and info in such a short video. I absolutely love it. I was wondering were you actually able to go to all of them in one day? Or how many you can go to in one day Leisurely? 🍷🍷🍷🍾🥂🍷🍷
Thanks Juliet... Leisurely in one day we did Sterling Vineyards to ride on the cable car, Castello di Amorosa to visit the 13th century Castle, and the Oxbow Market. Really depends how long you want to spend at each Vineyard and how early you start if you can fit in one more :)
That's awesome! I almost went to Napa Valley during a trip to San Francisco, but I was short on time so I skipped it. I'm seriously regretting that decision now... 😒 P.S. Love the Totoro shirt! 😁
You could have done a better job for Castello. Its obvious you didnt do the guided tour and never had a chance to explore the great things underneath the castle.
Ohhhh. That train would be so fun!
Indeed it would be!
Great video, both are our fav wineries!
Thanks!
I'm visiting late October. I'm going big on this trip from England! 58 days to go.
Enjoy Dack!

I can relate to that. When in Rome or at the office! lol
+Mathew Benham Thanks Matthew.. I wouldn't really call myself a wine lover either... The glasses at the tastings here are pretty small though :)
Awesome inspiring host and cool video!
Thanks :)
Next time come to San Jose, and I'll show you around.

Hi Cris. If you choose, Sterling Vineyards or Castello di Amorosa?
Hmm.. choosing 1 I would pick Sterling
Do we need to mke reservations for sterling vineyards? Thank you🤗
Leyla Zobel No, you don’t for the basic tour. You do for Silver experience & beyond.

All these wineries we call them Disney wineries terrible wines and are just meant to be a tourist trap niche thing the worst is the fake castle
You're drunk lol.....slightly :)
