      Hey Greg! The good thing about altitude is that the cardio system may het wrecked, but the legs are spared a bit. Almost a year in at 9000-11,000’ training and and my tempo pace is roughly 1 min/mile slower here.

      These are my training partners Felix Kosgei, Timothy Kibet, Victor Kiprotich
      They are unknown as haven’t raced overseas yet. They are working hard to race here and Kenya and prove themselves for an opportunity. At my camp I support 100% alone from my pocket, no sponsorship on the camps behalf.

    Really, really loved this one I watched it again! Loved the snippets of non-workout fun stuff, the interview with coach with the views and ice-bathers in the background. Does Angus blow tires left and right? And I assumed he had to have been in the truck for lots of it bc the climbs were so hard. Majorly impressed by Zane and his crew and this entire video.

    • @sweatelite
      @sweatelite  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      For sure one of the most fun episodes to shoot! The non-workout fun stuff lasted 3 good days up at the camp. We had a huge bonfire to celebrate after the workout as well. I have really really good tires on that bike. They've done close to 15000km with under 10 punctures so far :D With all those hills I did a fair amount of hanging onto the side of the car and letting Kandi drag me up behind the group

  • @willv88
    @willv88 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video! To the cameraman Angus, with this kind of altitude and the length of the runs, I'm wondering if you had to get acclimated to film it? I'm sure that for any non-elite athlete that the bike ride is also a workout in itself.

    • @sweatelite
      @sweatelite  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha, thanks man!! It wasn't an easy workout to follow for sure!!
      Fortunately I'm not too bad on a bike, done a fair amount of cycling, and by this time I'd spent about 5and a half months in Kenya already, so body was feeling good at the altitude.
      I also had the back of the truck to hang onto every now and then 😂😄

    • @UtkarshKothari
      @UtkarshKothari 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Long run is basically for time. So if u are running, jogging or even taking walking breaks, everything counts. Long runs are basically for u to let ur body become more efficient in fat burning and glycogen absorption.

      Temperature and humidity are not such an issue at 3000m altitude. Once the sun is up, the wind increases which can become an issue. Also traffic on the single track dust roads.
