More than all of those wonderful things Liza said, not many people have walked on this Earth and changed hearts and minds and saved countless lives as Elizabeth Taylor has done. Her greatest achievement was getting people to care, to not be afraid, to love, and her life dedicated to being of service to others and to a cause that saved many lives... The nation is indebted to her, truly. I wish there were parks, streets, and airports, schools and hospitals named after her, and I hope she is remembered for generations to come as one of the best of the best because of her endless supply of empathy and love of others.
When the camera just stays on her. Just remains still and she is also still, that is a beauty that cannot be remade. Hers was a face that you can never forget. She understood her gift and never took it for granted. That woman was so breath taking both inside and outside, A goddess.
The short scenes she did in Jane Eyre as a dying child are one of the high points of her early career. Once the character is gone you don't care about the film so much after that.
This was 1985, which means that she's 53 here. I'm so glad that she decided to reinvent herself once more and bring back the glamour. In her teens and 20s she was the most beautiful woman among her peers by a clear mile. I would say the same was true in her 50s. I'm happy that she was able to experience it all again. She leveraged it into building one of the most successful perfume companies in history. And she raised hundreds of millions for AIDS charities. She had been close to death multiple times in her lifetime. We would all love to have her around still, but making it to 79 is not bad when you consider the health history.
Yes indeed! I totally agree ... Massive plastic surgery by a genius doctor/doctors restored to her fans (I was/am one) for a few years the beautiful movie star we'd followed for so many years....She aged prematurely and her alcohol & drug-addictions along w/lifestyle made her almost unrecognizable by the mid-late 1970s. ... Lest we forget...............
Oh man ... Rock Hudson In 1985, Elizabeth chaired AIDS Project Los Angeles' Commitment to Life fundraiser. At the same time, the disease struck close to home as her dear friend Rock Hudson died of AIDS. So began her tireless commitment to end the epidemic. He passed away that same year... Elizabeth Taylor should be declared a saint.. NOT BY A CHURCH BUT EVERYONE. Because of her speaking up it gave me strength and made a friend of my own diagnosis, always loved her. WISDOM - COURAGE - TRUTH - HUMILITY - HONESTY - RESPECT - LOVE are the 7 Sacred Teachings I and other First Nations are brought up with both she and Rock Hudson epitomized these teachings. That is why there is hope for me living with HIV for 30+ years, and millions of others around Mother Earth.
you probably dont care at all but does any of you know of a way to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot my login password. I love any tricks you can offer me
Concentration camp survivors are such whiners. Liza and Elizabeth survived country club rehab, including doing chores like making their own beds and taking out the trash!
Agreed. At least two more with Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Suddenly Last Sumer. But she should have gotten nominated for A Place in the Sun and Giant too. In Giant I especially loved her few scenes with James Dean. They had great chemistry.
According to Ms. Taylor (and I agree wholeheartedly), her favorite role of all time was Martha in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf." She absolutely blew me away.
In a class of her own. By any merit. Someone probably already pointed that out, but it doesn’t hurt to repeat it as many times possible - sitting next to her is Rock Hudson, alredy shunned by the “community”. That’s why Liza’s “solid”, came with a crack in her voice. Unrivaled personality, beauty, talent and integrity.
Ms. Taylor was probably embarrassed by all this. She is not one to brag about her achievements. She started to tear up when they showed scenes of her with the love of her life, Richard Burton. She really loved him and him her!!!
ELIZABETH TAYLOR always did her own makeup. She was particularly proud of her makeup in CLEOPATRA, saying, "Actors always did their own makeup and actors do their own makeup."
I always wondered why her eyes were a bit red or irritated looking when she accepted this award. Now I notice it's because as soon as they show her as Cleopatra and with the Burton scenes she is crying and controlled it very well but must not have been too pleasant.
Some say mike todd was the love of her life, nahh. After all those years the look of total love and longing she had for richard when seeing him on that screen says it all.she said herself that she believed they would have married again.lets hope they are now together.xx💟💟
"Elizabeth Taylor" Miss Charm!.. She is, the same one, shining, hypnotically beckoning and inaccessible, from us inexorably retreating Universe "Elizabeth - Woman of Women". I can’t help but admire you. I look at the screen - and tears drip. The thunder of enthusiastic applause has subsided - You appeared in the world, being great prose!.. Blue eyes, their bottomless depths, Conquered the souls of giants. Internally - gullible and modest. Externally - the noise of the palace fountain! From a calm note to an inner tear - Sometimes she was obedient, sometimes naughty ... She is cute and enchanting, fabulously beautiful! - Refined feminine forms. Exciting our blood with its charisma, With the gift of sensual hypnosis - Sometimes, she quickly flew like a comet, through life - Sometimes, our beauty just blossomed, being a shy rose: Caravel among fishing boats; Queen, in the midst of ordinary people; Cleopatra! - Passionately, but with genuine care... Her femininity radiated everywhere! Having absorbed life with a field blade of grass, Keeping the spirit - with a share of the lovely eccentricity of the wind, by the bird - Shining with witchcraft nature, Great! “She is a true sovereign!” Woman - a shining world; Mother-night of the universal beginning - With the light of the moon, she has silvered us, She sanctified us with crystal clearness!.. She swam softly through the sky like a young month. She smiled at us in a pink sunset ... The time of triumph has stopped - It was marked by thunder and lightning! October 9 - 10, 2019 (K.S.) OMG, Liza's very eloquent words, particularly about her friendship with Liz were so moving and heartfelt, it made my tear up. Didn't Liz encourage Liza to go to Betty Ford in the early 1980s? ♥️♥️

Liza Minelli was one of the many to benefit from Taylor's love of humanity. A truly great lady.
A time when class and gratitude matter!! So missed!
AGREE...So sad that the GLOBES now is filled with JOKES of RICKY GERVAIS and became a POLITICAL PLATFORM on issues.
ESPECIALLY Class!!!
The look of love in elizabeths eyes when richard was on the screen and the tears started.she took her love for him to the grave and hopefully beyond ❤

@Robert A. Lofgren Jr. not at all. If you need proof look at her face and then look at just about anyone else face.
@Robert A. Lofgren Jr. Are you blind MAN???

As she got older this look was her best! Beautiful!

Elizabeth Taylor was loved
Wow, she is absolutely stunning!
I'd like to give her my "Oscar"!
Oh man ... Rock Hudson

Love the friendship between Liza and Elizabeth. These women have been through hell and are such survivors!
You are correct!!!
They were kinda alike and oddly were both at the freddie mercury tribute concert.
you probably dont care at all but does any of you know of a way to log back into an instagram account?

@Larry Brady instablaster ;)
Concentration camp survivors are such whiners. Liza and Elizabeth survived country club rehab, including doing chores like making their own beds and taking out the trash!
She was always truly beautiful!
She deserved much more than just 2 Oscars - she was not just the most beautiful women on earth, -she was a spectacular artist/performer & actress🎯💣💥❣
Agreed. At least two more with Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Suddenly Last Sumer. But she should have gotten nominated for A Place in the Sun and Giant too. In Giant I especially loved her few scenes with James Dean. They had great chemistry.
Yes, beautiful. Like other beautiful. Billions of people. Some are beautiful. No - one person - is the most beautiful.
I stopped watching the Oscars when they dedicated a paltry 6 seconds to her during the In Memoriam segment. For over 40 years, she WAS the Oscars.
@@08davey well said !
of course 👏👏💫
She was deemed exceedingly compassionate
According to Ms. Taylor (and I agree wholeheartedly), her favorite role of all time was Martha in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf." She absolutely blew me away.
All would be actors should be forced to watch her brilliant performance in that film. That, my friends, is Acting.
Liza voice is jus like judy garlands voice ❤️
Gosh, I remember watching this show when it aired in 1985. Seems like yesterday.
What year was it?
@@jillianholtzman6451 1952.
A lendery icon she was beautiful & a great advocate for aids rock Hudson was her best friend also loved MJ she loved all RIP ELIZABETH
Don’t forget Montgomery Cliff. She was devoted to him, even though he was gay. And that was a long time ago.

Elizabeth Taylor💜
They don't make them like Elizabeth anymore sadly. She was such a class act and such a compassionate human being.
Ms. Taylor was probably embarrassed by all this. She is not one to brag about her achievements. She started to tear up when they showed scenes of her with the love of her life, Richard Burton. She really loved him and him her!!!
Yes, I noticed and was going to comment about that. It was obvious she was saddened and her eyes watered when she saw Richard Burton.
They had a fatal 5 - 9 combination...
@@danseabreeze1404 It this is '85 then Richard had been gone for less than one year.
Really, one the most beautiful women in the world.
ELIZABETH TAYLOR always did her own makeup. She was particularly proud of her makeup in CLEOPATRA, saying, "Actors always did their own makeup and actors do their own makeup."
Two amazing Pisces women, Elizabeth Taylor and Liza Minelli. 💜✨♓💐
I feel like she smells like her passion perfume here. It’s probably before the release but I can just imagine her wearing it!
I always wondered why her eyes were a bit red or irritated looking when she accepted this award. Now I notice it's because as soon as they show her as Cleopatra and with the Burton scenes she is crying and controlled it very well but must not have been too pleasant.
Очень талантливая девочка и актриса!! ❤

It was Elizabeth Taylor herself who said that Mike Todd was the love of her life.
Exactly. Where do people speculate on matters they have no acquaintanceship with?? Taylor has said this many times.
Saudade... 😭🥺😭🥺😭🥺
No doubt, when I think of MOVIE STAR I think of two people, Elizabeth Taylor and Sophia Loren. Both a class above the rest.
And SL just proved her acting chops yet again at almost 90. It’s shocking that she isn’t nominated
I missed my chance to meet her in person at JFK New York MGM Grand
Liza sounds just like Judy.
Que ousadia...kkkkkk
❤❤❤
She's the one getting an award and they stick baby in a corner. What the hell!! Haha.

A clip from giant should've included too its her best role in my opinion
Martha in Virginia Woolf was epic! And a great cast as well.
Mike Nichols best Movie!!! 📽👍
1111 ;) #pop
Her very " best" movie 🎬 virginia wolf
Achei que a fake nem ia falar.
Oh that's right this is when the Globes aired on TBS and Turner was stupidly colorizing films ...
Liza kills me...usually drunk and mean she beat up her last two husband's. Badly. Here trying to be elegant, she should have won an EMMY. LOL.
👽... WHATEVER !
