    Thankyou for the pointers in fitting the Ram mount. I've just bought the Ram mount Ball and plate that attaches to the clutch reservoir. As you showed it came with the selection of screws, spacers and washers for the various models. I went about fitting it on my Gen1. I found that the supplied spacers, were too long & needed to be sanded & shortened, to allow the screws to bite. Sorted now but may may be a Gen 1 thing.

    The X-grip is absolutely fabletastic! One small thing to be careful about though: make sure you turn your bars full tilt left to full tilt right with the phone in the mount and the cable connected, after EVERY adjustment. Why? Because if you don't you risk finding out that the phone is a little bit too high or too low in a corner when it pressed against the windscreen or the tank and either break the cable connector or, way worse, push the phone out of the cradle. I had to learn the hard way - now you know too :)

    Thanks, very useful and instructional video. Unlike others, you made a simple video providing detailed and specific information only, in a clear voice without annoying background music.

    Thanks mate. I ride an FJR; after seeing your video I ordered the kit. $110 is Australian Pesos but still worth it!

    Nice...Amazon is delivering my Ram mount pieces tomorrow. I went with the u-bolt handlebar mount. Unfortunately I have to wait until spring to try it out on the road.

    Hi I've tried these X-Grip + Ram Mount on my Note 3 before.. Never felt secure having it gripping my device so I used to have to tether my device with a lanyard. And believe me, the phone had ever slipped out of the X-Mount grip while riding a bump on the road. I've since moved on to the Slip Grip Mount +Ram Mount and feel very happy with it.

      Well to be fair it's a PHONE mount not a phablet. My wife had a Note3 - it's HUGE. I would never put something THAT size in it, not meant for it.

    Great video! Might I inquire size/part number of the base plate? Are the balls 1" or 1.5"? thank you in advance. 2013 FJR owner.

    Just mounted this on my FJR. My problem with this holder since I have an iPhone X and the grips seem to always land on the volume and /or the on-off switch. If I move it so that the grips don’t hit those buttons it’s either too high/too low for a truly solid grip.

    you know there is a 10mm threaded hole, right next to that container, the hole is designed for RAM mount or any other mounts. But good video.

    Nice, I've been using the fork stem mount on my Aprilia for years, love 'em! I've been looking for a solution for my dad on his FJR as he's keen to get one for when he goes out touring. One question...... what is the base mount called? I've been searching their site but I can't find it! There's frickin' tons of them! cheers

    • @TwoWheelObsession
      @TwoWheelObsession  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +mrsparkyaprilia It's the clutch reservoir cover mount. You can also screw right in to the hole next to it just to the left.

    • @MrSparkyAprilia

      +TwoWheelObsession yeah I've tried searching for that on their UK site, but it doesn't come up. I've found it on the US site though. Thanks for the reply

    Great video, I have a new to me 2008 FJR-er (my first bike) and love your videos . Are you still happy with the clutch reservoir mount? I had been thinking about the replacement stem mount till I saw this one.

    I have the RAM X mount on my F800GT, and recently changed phone cases and went over a bridge in Sarasota and it actually jumped out of the X-Mount. The pavement was not smooth with the bridge as it was under construction at the time.
    I appreciate your video's as well.
    Had a question with regards to the Motorcycle seat, I noticed that it shaped more like a cruzer... Who made it like that for you? I forgot which video it was on, I only remember that you went to a cigar shop after you got it.
    Thanks in advance.

    Don't for get to Super Glue the the rubber pieces before you get too far. The electrical connection doesn't stay connected using the standard cords. I would like to have the magnet connection but I have an S5 and there isn't a good one for it.

    Could have ordered a ram ball M10X 1.25 to screw into the mirror mount on the clutch master cylinder for about 8 bucks like I did.

      I didn't want it that far left by the controls

    • @JoeyDaytonaaa
      @JoeyDaytonaaa 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's where I put it. Works well. Does feel a little crowded as far as sight lines with the controls, but doesn't interfere with function.

      Lol. That is funny. And good to know. I only need gps - why the whole phone? I’m not Getting million dollar business deals. Not texting while driving. and unless I got some sena in my helmet, not answering calls. And if I did want to answer calls, the phone can be in my pocket.
      So, I use a disposable 3-400 garmin gps and don’t put my phone out there. I think it’s pretty stupid and the people that do it, most of them have a malfunction in their thinking.

    Lookin good bro, Sak McL here from Cigar Obsession and CO Fans on FB. You'll notice alot of my user names are based around the email dasr1985. Anyhow, thanks for the video, I'm gonna have to look into that as I do a bit of riding that varies between the day to day to and from work and also traveling sometimes over hundreds of miles on weekends. This type of set up would be perfect!
