    They're manually controlled so materials can be streamlined to the correct floors, rather than everyone just calling the lift.. Some are usually booked for deliveries and not used by passengers at certain times.

    There's a rollercoaster in the U.S. that has an Alimak (I assume climbing) lift/elevator. It's very slow & is mostly used for mechanical & emergencies.

    I wonder why they need such a big goods lift. Most building materials like partion walls, pellets with bricks, etc are normally hoisted into the building with the regular cranes. The only reason I can think of, is that they may have some big, mobile equipment like a bobcat that they have to transport. But a bobcat would not really be found on a newbuid but usually on demolition / remodelling job.

    I have seen a bank of 5 on the side of a building before it looks very scary as it goes up 50 floors on the side of a building

    I bet it feels odd travelling in those. Even more so on top of them.

      It feels just like a roller coaster. Being on top is a little more fun, but you get over it pretty quick. Then it just becomes work.

      How do you mean?
