It's me, I'm the cousin. The 104 has been my daily driver for the 6 years since I bought it from ya Teddy. So glad we have this story, and the watch has grown with us over the years. Perfect watch for me, and I've had it for the majority of my professional pilot career. Love ya cuz!

0 - +2 secs is remarkable, as is the the entire watch. Hats off to Sinn.
Amendment: No need to apologize for telling your story with this watch (model), instead of simply reviewing it. Even though you did provide a lot of technical data points and measurements in the video. The emotional perspective of owning a watch is an important aspect, after you you bought it based on technical data points. In my opinion you perfectly offered this perspective, based on your experience with this watch. Thank you Teddy.

No idea where you got -2/+2 sec accuracy figure from, but the Sinn 104 uses a Sellita SW220-1 and even if Sinn does regulate it themselves it'll probably only get -4/+4 sec accuracy

@@brittle1 At 09:22 Teddy mentions that he measured this 104 to run 0/+2 and shortly before that talsk about his experience with movements adjusted by Sinn to run at better rates than those quoted by Sellita. I do get you point though, watch companies that just buy the movements and case them up, can just deliver to the level that Sellita regulates.

    • @brittle1
      @brittle1 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@hannesprassl7132 it's one thing to test one watch at one point in time. It is another thing to give a manufacturer's accuracy spec warranty tested across every single timepiece released within a model, which to my knowledge, Sinn does not do such a thing because manufacturer tolerance and variance exists. Teddy and others reporting 2 second accuracy per day could have just gotten lucky with a good batch of Sellita movements.

I purchased my white dial Sinn 104 almost 3 years ago after watching as many reviews as I could. It has since been a corner stone of my collection and it is not going anywhere now. I actually tried to put it for sale, a bit because it was a period when I was wearing it less but also as an experiment to see what kind of interest it would get. As soon as I got into the conversation with a potential buyer, I just took a 180° turn. The idea of selling just felt like a mistake.
It's been everywhere with me, is showing definite signs of use, keeps remarkable time and gives me joy to wear every time. I nickname it "my ol'buddy Sinn".
Incidentally, I purchased a 556 5 days ago, and this little guy is just on the same route as its older sibling.

Teddy your romantic treatment rather than a purely sterile review of these watches is appreciated. We watch collectors whatever our budget are a bit touched in the head. No one needs one yet our desire for them is so strong. It’s not logical. It’s something else. It’s something in the heart that we ponder in our head. I like specs but the stories are even greater. I just picked one up on line for 1250. What a score. Got a great deal and can’t wait to get it on my wrist. It’s got a black dial and I’ve been wanting for a black dial although I can see why you are so drawn to the white. Enjoy.

Nice review, nice rumination. I much more appreciate this sort of chat from a collector than a clinical review. Congratulations with the Sinn, it's a cracking watch I've eyed myself many a times. One of my favourites of the brand.
To be honest, my own journey has been one of constant and painstaking upgrades. My SARB033 has turned into an SGBX265 Grand Seiko, and the whole slew of dive watches I've owned, both from Seiko (SKX007, SKX009, Baby Tuna, Mini Turtle, Stargate, Uemura, Slim Turtle, and some of those twice) and from smaller brands like Yema and Baltic have all disappeared when I recently bought a Marinemaster SJE099.
I thought I was done with tool watches as my collection drifted into ever dressier territory. There's Cartier, Grand Seiko, The Citizen, Nomos, an UG Ferrovie dello Stato Mk II, and even Kurono Tokyo, but when I strapped that SJE099 on it gave me an odd sense of perfection.
It may be a honeymoon phase, but I struggle to think of a reason to wear anything else. I rotate through my watches, but I find myself thinking about the Marinemaster and it's gloriously compact 39mm case. I've had a love affair with Seiko since 2007, when I dumped a Speedy Reduced that kept on breaking in favour of an unremarkable titanium Seiko chronograph that would not quit or budge, regardless of the abuse I put it through, and this thing is a nice culmination of that connection to the brand.
It's not entirely full circle, but close enough to understand where you're coming from here.

I bought my first Sinn, the T50 a couple months ago and absolutely love it. Like you my Sinn doesn't quite fit the rest of my collection, but there's something so undeniably cool about it!

loved hearing the back story. In fact, one of your videos helped inspire me to buy a 104 (along with a number of other factors) and I absolutely love it! I bought it for a special occasion and have loved it for a few years. Looking forward to the next time I get to Germany to buy another Sinn. Also, loving my Marathon that I bought from you. - A loyal Canadian follower

I just bought my first mechanical - a Sinn U2 SDR. I love the submarine steel and the overbuilt 2000M depth rating. It’s a bulky watch but being a bigger man, I really think it suits my wrist perfectly.

I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the amzwatch's watches are the most intriguing.

Never really thought about a Sinn but this watch is beautiful. On another note. I turned my brother on to your channel/content and he recently purchased. Mido for you.
Cheers from Boston and keep the content coming.

Just received mine in mint condition. Absolute beauty. Thank you for introducing it to us. I was looking at so many other brands until I came across your vidoe and found a mint condition on ebay in Japan. It's gorgeous. ❤
I recently relocated to OH so I'm planning on visiting your store one of these days.

Love this…the Sinn 104 anthracite dial was my first truly great watch. It is my adventure watch, and has been all over the crazies and bridger mountain ranges in Montana. It’s been in countless alpine lake plunges, and has accompanied me in catching hundreds of high altitude trout. One of the best adventure watches out there! And it just looks plain great

Teddy, your backstory is what gives this video soul; otherwise, it’s just a spec sheet with moving pictures.
The Sinn 104 is such a versatile piece. I’ve paired my Sinn 104 I St Sa with Tropic, leather, nylon, and cork straps with polished hardware. It looks great on all of them!
That new bracelet looks like a great upgrade!

Totally recognize what you are saying! I had that with my Patek 5960G. I sold the watch in 2021 and always thought to myself, why did I do that? I tried to resist my sellers remorse for 2 years and bought a few others in between, but I always kept thinking of my beautiful Patek 5960G. It’s so versatile and has really all the functions I need. So later in 2023 I decided to sell a couple of my watches and bought the 5960G again (this time a 1 year younger version than my original one). To date I still am happy I made that choice as I will probably not sell my 5960G for a looooooong time!☺️ I also lost a few thousand dollars due to this remorse stupidity, but let’s not talk about that😂🤦🏻‍♂️

I own a U50 with fully tegimented case. Yesterday I slammed it into the door frame of an elevator while I was carrying heavy bar tables. It didn't sound good and I was affraid to have damaged it in the process. I inspected the watch, but couldn't find anything. Nothing. Not even a slight blemish. This watch looks, like nothing happend and fresh out of the box. Since that moment I'm simply in awe. I couldn't love this damn thing more. It's going nowhere. Sinn really does make great watches. They are the G Shock of german watches!

I had the Black Sinn 104. I bought it when they could still be had for about $1200. It really is a one-and-done watch. The best part for me was the super-detailed minute track and the syringe hands - it felt really precise for time keeping. The lume was also excellent and as good as any mid-range Seiko. The only real negatives was that the clasp was pressed and felt cheap (but the links were amazing) and the day wheel was very slightly tilted.

Love this watch! One of my favorites in my collection. My only gripes... I wish it was a bit more legible. My older eyes has hard time seeing white on white. Also, I wish the lume lasted longer. Besides that, I love everything about this watch. The action on the bezel is on bearings, I think and it feels like it. Good decision, Teddy!

I bought the 104 with arabic numerals last year after watching videos about Sinn from this channel. It really is striking in person and I just love it.
The only disappointment was that mine had a steel rotor as opposed to the “gold” rotor seen here… Don’t know why that was and it’s a minor detail, but would have liked the style seen here!
