The casual "You can unsubscribe straight away" is such an easy reminder on why this is easily my favourite photography channel. So genuine and non-robotic real person. Congrats on the wedding!
Sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost my login password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
Congratulations on the wedding! Been lurking for a while now, about time to break out some words! I really appreciate your wok, wording and integrity! Love how honest and clear you make your videos! Hope you take some time for rest now!
Congrats to both of you! Definitely would love to see more of these videos - I know how to edit, but I'm very much interested in why you made the editing decisions you have. Also, it would be helpful for you to explain a little of what the preset used is tweaking for those of us who use a different editing software and therefore can't try your preset.
Now I've finally got to grips with some of the basics of Photoshop and Lightroom, it's really interesting watching a video like this and hearing a "walk through" of the decisions you make and why. Thanks for the upload!
Well if it’s already done, welcome to the club and congrats! When it comes to more videos like this I’m all for it. You called it, not enough videos that explains why the changes. Keep up the good work.
Congratulations on your wedding, I hope everything went well and that you had a splendid time. Wishing you and Emily the very best! Very much enjoyed this video on the "why" behind the edits.
Giving free presets and iterating you have to sign up for the email list, which you can cancel at any time. You’re one of a kind, been a supporter for a while and I’ll continue to be :)
Great Video! From another video of yours I noticed that Emily is a great sport who is willing to accompany you when and if the situation allows. Even though I'm seeing "this" video for the first time in 2022, I felt a sense of joy when you mentioned you were getting married to Emily in two days! I hope this is not too confusing in my timing. I"m a big fan of yours. Thanks for being there!
Congratulations to Emily and you! Hope you are fully recovered and won't need PS to fix "sickly" skin tones on your wedding photos. My husband had been sick and he looks grey in all of ours.....
You should always do your videos when you are sick, it is as hilarious as informative. Thanks James, hope you had a great wedding and hope you will share some pics!
I did find this interesting. It is very interesting that you seem to like to downplay the sky, it will take a little bit to process, I’ve always tended to shoot and post my skies to pop more. I really like that you explain why here, I honestly never thought about this.
I'm with you on the sky replacement. Especially if you're literally replacing it with the same sky, you don't really get any weirdness or anything. I dig it.
I hope you had a great wedding and that you were feeling good again! Congrats to the both of you!🎈🎈🎈 Thanks for making the video even though you weren't feeling well, I always find it very interesting to see how other people edit their images, it's very helpful. Liked it very much that you explained why you made certain changes rather than only telling us how to make them!
wedding tip have a big feed for lunch before it starts mate, I've had 2 weddings and struggled to eat, too busy talking to everyone ! you'll thank me at 2 in morning when your starving ! Congrats and good luck don't faint and cheers for tips.
Congrats on getting married! As a side note, the video was great. The photo with Tom’s legs extended is my favorite. I see hundreds of that shot, but nothing as clean and simple. Thanks for sharing how you edited it 🙏
I hope you felt better for the wedding day.... Congrats to you and Emily (I hope she said yes - your teaser was great about that). And thank you for this very educational video
Looking at all that LR history - the V9 Classic LR you can now clear all the steps above some selected step by right-click and choosing to blow them away. Really handy if you're messing around with various options and don't want to leave around a ton of snapshots for the purpose.
Lol ❤️ I hope she didn’t change her mind. I very much appreciate this kind of video. Addressing the why instead of the how. Very awesome, James. Also, congratulations on making the marriage move. ✌️ I would very much watch another video like this, btw.
Congrats on the wedding!! I really enjoy ur silly twists and thoughts on things! Also, I'm glad you don't try to make the videos so dang perfect... it makes them more interesting and even funny!! 👍
Congratulations on your wedding, and thanks for the free presets. I also work from home and the great thing about that is I can sneak out with my camera whenever I want from the day job and as long as I have my work phone with me then nobody knows
I've been married for more than half my life now. It's been an adventure, sometimes good, sometimes bad, BUT I wake up every day thankful for my friend, my partner, my co-conspirator. I wish you the best in your life. It's well worth it.
After following your vlogs for a while now and also buying your book I would like to say that your coloring is very "Popsys". I would think I would recognize your photos just by that. Btw congrats on the wedding.
Very belated congrats- I love the info you give- I have been shooting as an amateur for many years and on occasion I like to check in on the more basic things and get reacquainted- Now I have switched from D 850/750 to Nikon Z7II and figured good time to recalibrate. Honestly- I usually lose steam fairly quickly because most channels are either hey everything is so amazing, so exciting, so chippy and also lets intro some controversy. Yours is more like a family member who did a video to help me do something better. Not sure if that is a great description, but you are really very good- currently checking out your editing stuff because I am shamefully weak in that area and need to get better. I have lost many almost great photos because I didn't know how to fix. If you have a Patreon thing, I'd happily do that. If you had the desire but no funding to take it to the get paid level, I'd happily invest in helping you do that- Humble brag I work in tech as an exec and have a bit of money and invest in things I believe in. That helps me get more money. :)
Nice video James. I really appreciate that you took the time to make an "how you edit images" video and especially the why behind it. Congrats on the marriage, if "she" didn’t change her mind :)
Hi David! Loved the video, great to always see into others creative workflows, hope you do more, I learned some new techniques. Now to the important content ;) CONGRATULATIONS on your Nuptials, now at the time of this message you should be hitched, as we say. I'm very happy for you both! Now you know that with wedding Emily gets a promotion in her title from the Boss to CEO, just want to make you aware. Best wishes to you both. Oh and say Hi to Tom x).
Congratulations on your wedding!! I married my Emilie a little over one year ago 😊 Now that the big day is over, you must have freed up your mind from all the organization frenzy... More time to think = more videos ? 😜 Please... 😉
1. this comment needs to go higher. As much as I love James and his work I am so fed with those orange colors on all kind of tree's on Instagram. I mean seriously.... those are "pine trees". They don't get orange but only when they are ill or dried out.... 2. great video anyway apart from the color science here. I got alot of useful tips and informations from my editing process. 3. Congrats on the wedding dude! Hope you and EM will have a great day and I seriously wish you all the best.
@@uglyigor3055 It's really subjective. I for one like the orange colors because they give off a certain warmth. Also photos that are edited to make trees more green and vivid somehow look more like an instagram filter was placed over it and it doesn't really look good. Again subjective
@@martinhommel9967 I was about to reply with the same. We do a hike in the fall in Banff National Park that has beautiful Larch trees. Gorgeous photo opportunities in the fall winter when they change colour.
1. On that "nature" perspective, I agree with you guys. 2. Photography is still an art form as much as painting or music is. So if somebody wants to have orange trees, why not. You wouldn't shame Picasso for painting orange trees or, if you want a musical example, nobody shamed Jimi Page when he played a guitar with a violin bow.
James, that's exactly the video I was hoping to see from you. Thanks a lot, get well soon and most importantly: enjoy your marriage as much as possible :-) All the best!
The casual "You can unsubscribe straight away" is such an easy reminder on why this is easily my favourite photography channel. So genuine and non-robotic real person. Congrats on the wedding!
Right?! James is hilarious and incredibly talented, such a joy watching his videos.
Congrats on the wedding mate! Hope you recovered in time and I hope you've hired a decent photographer 😝
Lol....wow
@@poshlady43 Why wow? Like, you could be the best photographer in the world and you still wouldn't shoot your own fricken wedding.

I use Capture One but still found this very useful. Thanks! Blessings to you & your wife! Congratulations!!!!
That first image is probably my favourite photo ever of yours. It’s just stunning.
I think this type of video is useful because it helps reinforce what I should look for and what I should consider in my editing.
Congratulations on your wedding, I hope everything went well and that you had a splendid time. Wishing you and Emily the very best!
Very much enjoyed this video on the "why" behind the edits.
Awww congratulations, hope you recovered to enjoy your big day. Wishing you and Emily a long and happy life together ❤️ 💒 ♥️

Congratulations on the nuptials!!! Best of luck! :)
Congrats on the wedding James 🍾
