Progress video recorded January 2022.
I recorded this as I was preparing audition repertoire in early 2022. I previously recorded the piece on my casio px560 in late 2020. I made many improvements since then. I still have work to do, but thought I'd share this to show my progress.

The power of gp510 is good enough ? (50wx2)Thanks!
Yes, I think the power of the piano is good, especially for home use. It can go quite loud if necessary, but I have not found a need to turn it up to full volume. Aside from how loud it can go, the piano can be played at very low volumes because of the volume control. For me that was very important when I bought the piano because I lived in an apartment building at the time. Are you looking into the GP510 for use at home?
Thank you ! yes, just for home used 。Gp510 and Yamaha clp785 are both I liked, but clp785 is powerful (300w),Gp510 sound seem be better more!
how does the hybrid action feel
Thanks for watching!
Great question. I think the action is incredible for the price point and especially for a digital piano. It's very fast and secure feeling. It has pretty good key depth and is well cushioned in the key bed. A player may like it more or less depending on what they've been playing on a regular basis.
I upgraded to the GP-510 from a Casio Privia PX560. To me, the GP action was amazingly fast, consistent, and comfortable. Combined with the sound production on the instrument, it makes the experience of playing a digital piano much more realistic and allows for execution of more virtuosic music. I prepared about 45 minutes of classical rep on the GP 510 for school auditions (Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Bach, Mozart, Debussy). It made it much easier to switch to an acoustic piano when I had to record.
That being said, if you're used to an acoustic instrument you may have a different reaction to the GP action. I've been at school for the last year practicing on acoustic grands daily. When I've gone back to play the Casio, I've found it less exciting than I used to. I think some of that has to do with the sound. The sound on the Casio is beautiful, but it simply doesn't match the immersive sound of a large acoustic piano. I think this affects the way I play and respond to the keys. The last time I played my GP510, it felt like I had to work harder to play fast and it was generally harder to play evenly on it. The default velocity settings can probably be altered to compensate for some of that. The room can also affect how you hear the instrument, which can affect how you play it.
With all of that in mind, the GP-510 is an incredible instrument if you look at it for what it is, rather than as an equal substitute for a grand piano. Its action and sound are fantastic, and I don't think you'd find better action on a digital under $10k. The other thing to compare it to is a similarly priced upright. The GP-510 has action that I'd take over most uprights its price range. Additionally, it has all the features that make a digital great, like volume control, multiple sounds, DSP effects, MIDI, etc.
Have you had the chance to try a GP-510 yet? I recommend going to a piano shop and playing one, as well as comparing it to other digital and acoustic instruments.
@@markandrewpiano thanks i think i will try that. i looked on the kawai 701 that is just digital it look stunning touch screen and bluetooth headphones its cheaper but it dont have the key action its just for headphone use and nothing more i have a grand piano
Is Hamburg Grand is Steinway D-274?😂
I don't think Casio officially says which piano is sampled, but what I've read is that it is a Steinway D. Merriam Music @MerriamPianos in Canada states this on their site listing for the GP 510: www.merriammusic.com/product/casio-gp-510/
