From Cyclone Idai ashes to sunflower oil venture

MRS Judith Mhlanga has risen from the ashes of Cyclone Idai, which ravaged her homestead on the infamous night of March 14, 2019, to become a prolific sunflower cooking oil entrepreneur in Chimanimani.
On the fateful night, the natural phenomenon turned Mrs Mhlanga’s life upside down. It swept through her hood, leaving a trail of destruction and despair in its wake. She lost a lot of loved ones, friends and livelihood.
She, however, refused to let the tragedy define her.
Instead, she found solace in sunflower farming, and her cooking oil pressing venture is booming. In a recent interview with The Manica Post, Mrs Mhlanga said her business has become a beacon of hope in the community
