Benedict: *acts his heart out and showing off all of his skill*
Pete: 👁👄👁 ok
not ok, its "okeh" haha.
I hate that 😭
that why its so funny lol
Literally just came here to comment that!
Kinda
Benedict really acted the shit out of this skit.
Oscar-worthy lol
ok
ok
I don’t know how to Benedict would under act. Honestly
Kevin Lebby Benedict you mean benderboy clomperbatch
Cumberbatch's performance was so good it almost feels like they edited in Chad into a pre-existing movie as a joke
OK
Well he didn't outperform Chad ;)
The imitation game 2014 Looks just like it’s from this
😂😂😂 I know right!!
Chad is a model human. He's a learner, he listens, is respectful, empathetic, honest, and has a good sense of humor. He lets things roll right off his back and maintains a positive outlook on life. I think we should all aspire to be like Chad. If you're ever in a tough spot in life, just remember these two letters: "Ok!"
This needs more likes
Okay.
Ok!
Ok
He lacks empathy.
Otherwise, yes, his “capacity” (irony 😅) or level of being “unbothered” and _free_ is indeed inspiring.
I like how Ben approaches roles in SNL like 'I'm going to win that damn Oscar'.
Absolutely
C Minor one of the best comments ever.
Carly Lahana I have to assume it's no intended approach; he just embodies acting finese.
It's called professionalism.
Word
Benedict just delivered the greatest dramatic performance in an SNL sketch ever
@Pluralizes Everythings i was about to comment the same jaja
Emma Stone also did great in The Actress.
Papyrus
Emily Blunt as the sink.
Adam Driver's Undercover boss
" Dormammu i've come to bargain "
" *OK* "
No thanks...
Dormammu destroys Earth: "Oh no, your globe."
@@lebbo88 OMG that was actually perfect lol
As soon as I saw this comment I couldn't stop laughing 🤣😅
This comment made my day 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Office Hours - Benedict Cumberbatch
Papyrus - Ryan Gosling
The Actress - Emma Stone
The best dramatic acting ever in SNL
Papyrus is good....
Doctor's orders - Jessica Chastain isn't any behind
@@ChipsAndCurd Will check it out
Charlize Theron does a good turn in Cocktail Hour.
The actress is at a whole different level. That enactment is inspiring.
Benedict as a professor is somehow very, very convincing.
He's a teaching assistant. XD Basically a poorly paid grad student who acts as a lackey for profs.
Him as anything would be convincing tbh
@@elanya42 he's an associate professor haha, a TA wouldn't have an office.
I don't know, when he said Styoodent instead of Stoodent, is that a boston accent or..?
The non-demotic locutions such as "styoodent" instead of "stoodent" add to the privileged persona.
I like how polite Chard was so polite...Like "no thanks" he could have reacted much worse
FrowersssX ! Chad doesn’t care enough to be rude
Chad*
@@jojosiwais5988 exactly!
Are there other Chad skits out there? A bit new to SNL skits.
you and 752 others don't understand the character, maybe a little over your head
Professor: *is leaning in for the kiss with Chad*
Chad (nonchalantly): No Thanks
I thought it had a tinge of panic, and not just nonchalance 😂.
@@kristir1262 I thought it was pretty nonchalant. I was struck by it being such a non issue. And at the end of the sketch when he mentions it (very nonchalantly) to his friend, his friend is also nonplussed. I thought it was a slightly low key way of demonstrating the strides that north american society has made towards being accepting of other people's sexuality. Obviously still a long way to go. But the kids are alright.
@@xandermann3127 I think you’re acting like the professor! Stop over analyzing Chad, lol. He’s just a simple dummy, that isn’t deep enough to take anything seriously. His vacant mind makes him a Rorschach test for the self-absorbed people around him.
@@xandermann3127
Google the definition of "nonplussed".
Amusingly..
The unwell-ATM I happened to did, "@@que3817".
When Chad hit him with "haha taint" mid monologue that was gold
So you agree with the rancorous "live" audience, eh?
why was that funny? (genuinely asking)
@@aishashaikh5699 i think it s because he doesn t understand what it means so the whole monologue is useless
@@aishashaikh5699 taint as a slang word refers to the area between one's genitals and anus
@aishashaikh5699 this comment is a year old but I’m just going to say it. Taint is another word for the perineum, the section between the Anus and scrotum
He could have won an Oscar for that 3 minute skit.
I don't think he can get an Oscar for a tv performance but yes all the Emmys for Pete
Yeah. Benedict was good too.

Ok
I wanna read Chads admission essay.

Ok
😂😂😂😂
srsly
👌
Pete Davidson broke things off with Ariana to be with Benedict Cumberbatch.
Upgrade
Ariana: you wanna get married?
Pete: no thanks
aHAHAHAHA
I would too
I mean... I get it
honestly, Chad's kind of an ally. he's totally chill.about his friend being into him and tells him he's not imterested without being ober the top or homophobic
I think the joke is that Chad is too simple to take anything seriously. Because he also immediately told his friend what happened after agreeing to secrecy. He’s just dumb, lol. Unless you want to be the professor and project your own complex thoughts into the situation.
I think part of what's so funny in these is that Chad's reactions are much better than a lot of people's reactions to a lot of things, even though he cares very little about anything. Like I'm a neurotic overthinking wannabe do-gooder, and there are so many scenarios in my life that would've been better for everyone in the end if I was Chad.
You definitely get comedy
Chris why did you copy and paste this comment, spelling error and all, from another comment someone made 2 years prior to yours??
@@Catlady-mw4en the funny thing is his friend just doesn't care either
The most realistic thing is when The Professor is getting all that profound insight on life from someone who barely understands what is going on.
Thank God, somebody gets it! All these crazies in the comment section act just like the professor, talking about how Chad represents the “wokeness” of the modern generation. The joke is that Chad interacts with self-absorbed people that are oblivious to Chad’s obliviousness.
{Leans over and attempted to kiss} "No Thanks". LMAO
caribbeanqt16 okay
Who would say no to that though lmao
this is completely unrelated, but your profile used to be my home screen on my computer

Highlights of this skit 😂😂😂😂
"Oh no your globe"
"Hahh.. Taint"
I had to lookup the Safety/Doorknob game. I feel like I have missed out on life.
TheBigGetEven we beat each other up in the weight room lol
OK
Is Hahh Taint a reference to something?
Lakshmi yes it’s perineum
why is this a painfully accurate representation of me overthinking relationships
I actually cried watching Benedict act so flawlessly
The little “aw congrats!” That was kinda cute cause he only ever says ok and safety
Might want to rewatch. "My bad" and "oh no, your globe" come to mind very easily.
@@Hugh_Jas Then we have the”No thanks” “Oh i’m sorry” “I’m good”.

Ok
People want someone to listen to them without slicing in some of their drama
But perhaps not skate away
I would unironically pay to see a film like this, at least Benedict's half of the script.
ha ha ha . . . not exactly "half" of the script! Benedict would carry the film
The chemistry between them is better than many couples in romantic comedies.
You can literally feel Benedict's voice when he's speaking. Such a physical experience
okay
Shanzay Subzwari it is literally thee most erotic thing ever. Plus this is the best comment ever
Cause dat bass is blowing out the speakers
Hell yes🤩
That’s a really good way to put it! It’s that level of bass that you kinda feel resonating inside of you...
i would totally watch a whole show with this type of comedy! i love how it makes fun of "indie movie pretentiousness" in a way, but Benedict's acting is absolutely on point!!
onarionaa Well they have characters do these long dialogues that most people wouldn't care to listen to, but if Benedict was saying them I'm sure we'd pay attention more.
SNL is a whole show of skits, so you could try watching the whole episode
+Astara Cambata haha i know what you're saying, but i meant a show based on this skit. like with this Professor Buckley fellow...i was laughing so hard, but i also wanted to know more...will he end up marrying the girl?? will he run off with a man, will his Dad disown him? etc.
onarionaa The guy in your profile pic looks familiar but I can't seem to remember.
the problem with that kind of on point acting in a serious role, is it is too on point, that you can tell he is acting. because nobody normally acts that way in real life. unless they are a drama queen
Sounds like, "I envy you, John."
Noor Ul Falah
*Illuminati music*
Oh John, I envy you so much
well if he envies guys he wants to kiss...
Benedict was absolutely amazing but let's take a moment to appreciate Pete

The fact that I know he's high during the filming of most of these skits makes it even funnier.

Dylan Trotter no no bud. a lot of gay guys like it too.
Dylan Trotter okay

Benedict Cumberbatch deserves an Oscar for this, I know it sounds insane but somehow he played a part in 3 minutes so masterfully that it deserves an Oscar...

Did anyone else die of laughter at "oh no your globe"?
Sterre Meijer okay
"No thanks." Is a very generous response to that situation. Assertive, but without animosity. I wish more people would have that sort of kindness.
Absolutely.....Ah. I'm afraid that's Ghandi's level. Most people would shit their pants, when dealing with someone in a superior position.
No one told Benedict this was just a silly SNL skit so he went right ahead and gave an Oscar-worthy performance.
ok
I like how Benedict's acting here so deep and Peter is just....OKAY
Acting isn't "deep". Concepts are.
Marc Moncada Ironically this comment is shallow
@@whatishappeing The irony would have held value had I intended to make it deep. But there's nothing complicated about correcting a simple mistake.
@@wearytrader535 "Correcting a simple mistake" is inherently shallow. Using a condescending tone in response is also shallow. = Irony holds value
@@wearytrader535 The irony does not come from whether or not you intended to be deep, it comes from the topic being about "what is deep" and your response was shallow
damn, the fact that he believably played a "28 year old professor's assistant" at 41, good on you benny :)
age part is not convincing at all. i first thought he 50 and when he said 28 i was God he must be in his 50s what the hell is he talking about
@@basharstats4482 Ikr I had to rewind that part to be sure he didn't say 38
The term is Assistant Professor. But academic titles are different in the UK so maybe Benny got confuzed.
No, no he did not. He absolutely is not believable as a 28 year old unless you're like...15 and have literally zero frame of reference for what a 28 year old looks like.
That guy that played the professor really has some talent. Hope he hits it big some day, he could play a really good doctor or something.
idk hes kinda strange
he would be an Aweome Dr Who!
@GothGuy885 who?
I like how the lighting changes when it's just 'Chad' on the screen. For a moment there I thought they filmed this separately. The lighting on him and his colorful clothes really emphasized how out of place he is in that somber room.
