The couple of chained between the two double crochet in the second row, shut his created tightness in the third row. So let’s get the third row undone and have a closer look into the chain stitches.. Darlene Jordan Yes Width is chained horizontally and we build up adding rows. Shawl in this tutorial is about 50 inches width fits a medium sized lady perfectly. This can be an average shawl size. If you want it bigger or smaller just chain sets of three as mentioned in the video until you have the desired width then ad two and proceed to the next row. Hope this helps✨

I used size 5 hook for that shawl one size bigger than recommended on he yarn label. I wanted it a bit loos and less chunky as it doesn't get really cold where I live
