Your answer should have begun with that Jackson Hole is quite simply the most beautiful place in North America because of how abruptly the stunning Tetons rise out of the flat valley.
Very true, but interestingly you can't actually see the Grand Teton from the town of Jackson. In a way that adds to the magic because the Grand Teton is close but you have to go a little out of your way to see it.
I can’t stand what jackson has become. Everything about it (except the views) is aweful. If I had a billion dollars it’s one of the last places on earth I’d choose to live.
Well - when Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Brokers of Jackson Hole Real Estate owns the majority of the town its easy to set prices. Jackson = Wallstreet Owned !
I live in Teton County. Great place if you like winter. The wealthy want to live here because Wyoming has no State income tax, is tax friendly in general, and there is a lack of "diversity", and the consequent crime and social strife. I live on 20 remote acres up against the Idaho border in that western sliver of private land at 3:40.
@@homodeus8713 you're welcome anywhere so long as you got money, the idea being that lots of browns and others got no money, and they also want to live amongst browns and others, so they don't move somewhere where there are few browns and others.
The question is why did Jackson get attention from billionaires? I'll tell you why. It is due to the Chicago Fed's annual meeting in Jackson Hole. I don't think the video creator was aware of this.
Same thing is happening in parts of Montana. The problem is the locals can no longer afford to live there, the people who work in the bars, restaurants and other industries can't afford to live in the town they work in.
This is what happend to Florida, the past 10 years a huge flood of people outbidding the native Floridians rose the price of housing up TEN FOLD and now any other house is rented out for 5 times what a mortgage would be, I'm moving m family to Texas in a few months cause we literally can't afford to live in the state we were raised in.

I have skied Jackson hole. It has some great slopes and incredible powder. When I skied there, during a Winter Carnival week at college, you used to be able to ski right up to the chair lift lines (no lines or only 2-3 people deep). Yet many people still paid extra to take the tram to the top of Rendezvous Bowl (the top of the mountain). It was at least 4000ft+ of vertical drop from the top. Some people would track their vertical feet total for the day.

I always enjoy visiting Wyoming. Usually I'm around Sheridan where I've made friends. Great people, Great landscape, Great fresh air and water. 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸👍🙏🙏🙏
I live an hour south of Jackson. Billionaires kicked out millionaires. Many have a 3rd or 2nd home in the area. They bought a home to claim residence so they dont pay state income taxes. Also the FED meeting here. The tetons are amazing. Skiing here is overrated Colorado and Utah have better ski runs.
All small skiing towns attract the rich. Skiing is a sport for the wealthy and so is the life style. Sun Valley Idaho, Park City Utah, Vale Colorado, Flagstaff Arizona, etc etc
Flagstaff, AZ is expensive (not as much as those other towns) but the Snowbowl ski area does not even come close to those in CO and Utah. It is more comparable to Hunter Mountain in the Catskills of NY, not to mention the crowdedness.
If you're looking for "peaceful connection with nature", and lower population, Jackson isn't the place, at least during the warmer months. Sure, if you're wealthy and own a ranch/home up on a secluded hill in the area, it's nice. During the summer months, however, Jackson is so crowded with visitors travelling two/from 2 major national parks... You can barely drive through town. There's one main road through town, and one road north, and you're sharing it with millions of travelers. Another consideration: Jackson is an economic "bubble": everything costs more, and any type of vocational service is difficult to get, because when the place thaws out from winter, everybody needs services at the same time. (We work in the area during the summer months, and have for the last 7 years.) A one bedroom apt without laundry hookups, is over $1200 dollars a month or more.
There are half a dozen mountain towns in Colorado I would consider before Jackson Hole…Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, Telluride…….not sure these are any more crowded anymore.

Wealthy people can live anywhere. All they need is a tiny condo in one of seven states in the US with 0% state income tax and they can claim it as their "primary" residence to get the tax benefits. They own homes all over the country/world. Reason a massive influx pushed into Jackson is because WY is a beautiful place. Ironically once the wealthy international jetsetters started moving in prices started to skyrocket. Give it a few more years and it'll be overrun, then they'll find a new place to ruin :(
I grew up there late 60s early 70s. Sno King was right out my front window. The Elk refuge was out the back door and across the road. My first job was at a little dude ranch called the trading post. I was 8. I took tourist up in the mountains and had a blast. And got paid $1 for one hour ride$2 for two hours. $5 for the chuck wagon steak ride every Friday all summer. The guy that owned it looked like Hoss Cartwright from bonanza. Huge dude. And fished cutthroat creek every chance we had. Then it really was a paradise. Hardly anyone. Just a small tourist town. Then the news followed Jimmy Carter there for a winter vacation. And then the rest of America discovered Jackson Hole. My childhood paradise. A place I still dream of. Peace.
The answer to your question is that everywhere else is wealthy to live so it’s not just Jackson Hole but it’s everywhere else just to set the record straight. Everywhere you go there are tourists hot spots too.
Even if I had the money, I would be very careful about where I bought. It is not a matter of if, but when, US 191 becomes either I-17 or I-19, so some land will, at some point in the future, fall to eminent domain, so be careful where you buy,
