Love the review. I bought this as a second phone to my Nothing Phone 2. I use it for most everything. Once i got it setup to my liking its been smooth sailing. I got a fold 5 and just couldnt get over the narrow screen. Also as a recent convert from iphones i love the options you can get with anroid phones.

@@Super-c00n I'm definitely keeping it. I have the Z fold 5 too and and haven't used it since getting Mix. It's the wider outer screen plus the slim form factor that I really like about the phone.
I was thinking in buying Xiaomi mix fold 3 or Vivo x fold 3 . After awhile I decided to order online the vivo x fold 3 ..Chinese rom version . I'm using vivo x fold 3 as my main daily phone now and I love it specifically the back camera which is one of the best.

Nice It’s a sweet phone - not sure about the software updates, mine haven’t fixed any of the small issue yet, I’m sure they will just tack the improvements on to the Mix Fold 4

just got the phone yesterday spend hours trying to set things up. when i go to g board theres no option for keyboard height. when i go into app settings gboard notifications is greyed out and won''t let me turn it on. any tips?

Did you got the Chinese ROM or Multi-Language ROM? Also how good is the Google Play support? Are the Google Apps by default or did you do some tweaking to get it working? Is it compatible with Android Auto?

Just for reference - I'm on T-Mobile and have no issues whatsoever with notifications and calls and texts, I'm using this as my daily phone right now. But the camera honestly let me down.

Actually I was going to get the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 but I didn't, for the reasons that you've already mentioned in this video. I don't want to have to do a lot of tweaking with the settings and deleting a bunch of Chinese bloatware on a phone. I want the device to be good to go straight out of the box. I recon Samsung are just simply "Cheaping out" when it comes to improving the screen of their Fold series. Every year it's only minutely wider while at the same time they cut it down to make it shorter, that soon the problem with the aspect ratio of the cover screen is no longer "too narrow" but end up being "too short" I noticed this with Google Pixel, Oppo and to a lesser extent Magic V???? What are they paying screen cut outs by the micro meter or something? How hard is it to simply have a normal phone that folds out? However, since the Xiaomi Fold 4 is expected to go global and hopefully be more easily accessible in the NA and EU market, Samsung can no longer get away with their iterative crap, because this time there will be a folding phone that is actually usable like a normal sized/shaped phone.
I agree, but I think Samsung and Apple still has too much of a grip in the US for Xiaomi and others to compete yet, even if the Mix Fold 4 is global, it still won't be pushed in the US and people won't be able to get carrier deals or trade in deals for them so they probably won't sell as much here. I wish the Chinese phones would make a bigger splash over here so we can have some actual competition.

@@Maximum_Android That Mix Fold's both screens are 120Hz 120 FPS 4K display, the camera that captures is set to 30 fps 1080P. When camera cant catchup with the content, then you will see flickers on the camera
Love it, I was about to buy this phone until I read about the Honor V2, so I'm going to wait for their "international version" (expected Q1 2024 which is a major disappointment since the Chinese version of Honor was released almost same time as Xiaomi fold 3).
I have the Mix Fold 3 and using it in the UK, It is a fantastic phone probably best foldable in terms of hardware (love the screen size!!) however the software lets it down coming off One UI.... however to be fair this is not made for the international market or google based apps... but if they release a global rom majority of these issues will be likely resolved. So in a nutshell Phenomenal hardware, let down by software. MIUI 15 (based on android 14 ) will be out soon, lets hope they iron out the kinks.
@@JLR9698 hi mate, all UK networks support 2 4g bands.... one at band 20 and another specific to that network. As the mix fold 3 does not support band 20... you are effectively cutting 4g support by half this will mean it prob go to 3g more often if your in a non 5g zone, however if you in a good 5g location it will not matter as it will always connect to 5g. WiFi calling and volte (4g calling) works but on my network (Three) I had to enable via Miui system level codes, which are easy to find. I brought my 512 gb fibre back model from wonda mobile for 1320 including 3 days shipping via DHL, wonda mobile installed Google play store for me so they will unseal the box to do this, it does not come pre installed. Please be aware that DHL may ask you to provide idtenfication for customs.
The only bad thing about xiaomi is you can't turn the mic and camera sensors off. Having tryed several times . Its my only real dislike with that brand.
The only reason I’ll choose that ugly Samsung z fold 5 is cause next year I can trade it for $700 and get the z fold 6/plus they give me a free screen paper replace for free

I've had my Mix Fold 3 for over a month now and I love it. Im Using Nova launcher and it's made my experience with it more enjoyable.

Battery life is fantastic on the mi fold 3 far better than any Samsung fold easily you can kill the z fold 4 and 5 in a day but xiaomi keeps on going

Copying useful features from other OS platforms is how they improve. What Xiaomi needs to copy, is a lot Samsung's software.
