    This has been an idea I have had for years. I’m so excited to hear Bill talk about it.

    I feel the peace of Yahweh brother. Ever since I've been watching ur channel, I've been applying more ambiance into my playing in our church worship services. (Been cranking up my delay time on my old Hardwire Reverb.)

      Excellent! The ironic thing is that I attend a "conservative music" church, and don't use any of this stuff in our services. Good thing I love the old hymns... ;-)

    I've got a 1950s Baptist Hymnal that I'm always using for sight-reading exercises. Why were hymn writers writing in Ab and Eb? :D

    Eden's Bridge's version of this tune is one of the most beautiful things I've heard

    I like the way Mike Oldfield does this so...... well. He is so great at melody.

    john Fahey was a big exponent of old hymns like In Christ there is no east or west. That was his signature piece in fact.

    This is an excellent tutorial vid! Fantastic suggestions/ideas. Is the Neunaber Immerse set to "hall" reverb?

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you found the video useful! And yes, the Immerse was set the "hall" reverb.

    It's called 'The banks of the Bann' in Ireland. Nice rendition !

      Thanks for the information on the tune name. I knew there were a few variations, but did not know that one!

      Any chance of a 'mostly acoustic' version sometime ?

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      maxwellc13 Funny you should ask. I actually have a track of this song on my "Vision" album. Here's the corresponding YT video. There's electric, but the main guitar is my Tacoma acoustic baritone. Let me know what you think. th-cam.com/video/DfPvOOsiNfs/w-d-xo.html

    I've noticed since I've just learning to play ambient guitar today that I can't help but to bend into my swells as I push down on the volume pedal. It's like a reflex.

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. I assume you are new to using a volume pedal? Assuming so, I would suspect that tendency will go away after you get a little more practice in.

    I've been enjoying listening to your "Souls" album lately. There's a song called "In heaven, it is always autumn" which is absolutely stunning. Was the idea taken from a popular Hymn?

      @chordsoforion  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is not a trad tune, but something I created. The title however, comes from a John Donne sermon, of all places! www.bartleby.com/209/266.html
