Was there like a rule they couldn't hit that one bot till it spun up? 😂 this was like anime fight rules had to let it finish its power up sequence that took half the fight.
Yeah, basically. They're known as Multibots, and each one is a team mate for one of the big bots. Different competitions have different rules, but with NHRL's 30lb class if you have a multibot (one competitor with multiple idependantly operated bots) you get an 8lb weight bonus. So long as the total weight of all the robots meets a maximum of 38lbs, you're good. However, there's another component at play here too, which is an unconventional form of locomotion (basically, anything other than wheels or tracks) Having an odd movement form also gives you a weight bonus of 15lbs, which stacks with the multibot 8lbs. So for example, Depth Charge (the weird white bot with the massive spinning discs) with a companion bot can weigh up to 41.8lbs on its own, with the second bot weighing up to 11.2lbs, for a total between them of up to 53lbs.
