    Good work. My Suhr modern has a push push tone knob that makes the entire guitar single coil. I’ve spoken to other people with the modern and their modern does not have this option. That is something you might want to investigate. It really makes the guitar even more versatile.

    The greatest necks of all time were the Old Ibanez Roadstar II deluxe! RS 440 and 430 necks! And the backs of the necks were painted! Why don’t any other brands paint the back of the neck? They say they replaced them with the RG,s because they weren’t shredding enough for the metal guys in the 80s! But I just saw a video of Paul Gilbert just brought himself a 1982 Blazer and he’s loving it! Fat necks great guitars! 9 1/2 radius is the best!

    Thanks for the review. I also really enjoy this guitar. It just tends to be the first one I pick up to play. However I did not like the pups and switched them out for something brighter. I lot of people really enjoy the stock pickups tho.

      Glad you’re enjoying it! Also I think those pickups may not be bring enough depending on the amp. I normally use relatively bright amps so they worked for me. I could definitely see something lower output though!

    I think I recall that positions 2 and 4 split the humbucker, so you get those nice notch tones.

    • @ElliottKleinguitar
      @ElliottKleinguitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And I would’ve have though a single coil and a super high output split humbucker would sound so good together but here we are

      @@ElliottKleinguitar I didn't map it out, but I do know it's a Superswitch, there's a capacitor between two legs, and a resistor going to ground on another. So my guess is he's using the capacitor to chill out the SSH+ on pos 2, and the resistor to give just a partial split on the SSV in pos 4.

    You’re so good!! I saw a lot of covers using this guitar but most of them were all metal or rock and my style is more calm and soul so I really wanted to see if this would be the guitar for me! thank you for this video :))

    The comment about the aesthetic at the end is true enough, but less so for the Antique version which has an awesome nitro finish which gives it a cool classic vibe. Add the burst to the equation and you have a weird modern/traditional hybrid that is better than the sum of its parts. At least that’s my opinion, which is why I own one :)

      sorta like that Guthrie model. I always liked that one and love mine visually thanks to the nitro and relic job. that being said the horns are still huge. if you find me on instagram please send a picture of your guitar!

    Nice tonez man... maybe put up the spec sheet so we know better what we are dealing with here. The only Suhr modern I laid a hand on - it was a modern satin - had a ridiculously thin neck. Guess this is Basswood? So the spec sheet! Cheers!

      I’m not sure where it is but as I recall its an .800-.850 ellipses neck, I do know it’s an alder body modern antique roasted maple neck

    Hello Elliott, this Suhr sounds amazing. if you ever want to sell them ... let me know. I suppose it is a modern antique that I think was only built until 2017.

      These and the satin models, and satin modern T guitars show up every now and then on reverb, keep an eye out and you’ll be able to snatch one!

    • @ElliottKleinguitar
      @ElliottKleinguitar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      At this point especially, sometimes you can find a used satin one for quite a bit less, although it’s still definitely an investment. There are many guitars that are similar and much cheaper though. Any PRS S2 is also great, including the Satin S2 Studio that was a UK only release
