Very well said, I struggle to play survivor and get super upset at myself when I cant loop the killer for 5 gens just an unreasonable goal for not having that many hours on survivor. Dont beat urself up just play expecting to die and it makes escaping alot more of a victory. ALSO you will die to the game being a bit messy lots of time youll clear a window vault get 6 ft away from it and still take a hit, very annoying but just a bug in the machine, keep on surviving and for the killers that might be reading this please dont tombstone me
While it's possible to run a killer for 5 gens, it takes a lot of experience and knowledge and I'm sure that one day you'll get there! Even with almost 6K hours, I don't run the killer for 5 gens every match (it does happen, but not as often as I'd like), I sometimes still go down in 10 seconds because I messed up somehow, and I'm often the one to die first. I used to beat myself up about it, but then I realized that chases are meant to be lost eventually and now I don't care. I see it as a challenge to loop the killer as long as possible and buy my team as much time as I can. This also means that when I run the killer for 2 minutes and they don't do a single gen in that time, I give up, gg and go next. You win some, you lose some.
I’ve watched a ton of guides since playing this for the first time and last night. Yours is the best, the clearest and the most useful. Thank you so much!
I’m bringing a good friend into the game and needed some good tips to introduce him, glad I came across this video it’s been fantastic. Took lots of notes!
What helped me just enjoy the game alot more is the mindset of "as long as i help my teammates its a win for me." Extra points if at least 1 person gets out, and even more points if more make it out B)
It's become a crutch perk for me to where I feel naked when I'm not running it and immensely guilty if/when I accidentally run the killer to where teammates are 😭 But the info is so good!
this is a great vid, i always invite my friends who dont play the game to join me and that edge map tip is so true they always want to heal in the exact corner and when we do customs i always run nurses because i play legion and they legit will always be in the corners healing lmao
Personally, I think bringing two perks dedicated to healing (one of them to make the other not a waste) is overkill but that’s just me. I run two info perks in my solo queue build and for some, that probably seems like a waste. I just notice that newer players will bring self care, run to a corner every time they’re injured, and spend half the match healing themselves. At the end of the day, you bought the game and can run whatever makes you happy. As long as you’re having fun, that’s all that really matters.
@@xoblythe I get your point about people bringing solely self-care and wasting everyone's time, that's a given. I very often get thanked by my teammates for those quick heals in dire situations due to botanic and that feels nice. And then quick healing yourself , while others do a gen instead of looking for me, then start healing me, etc. You go for info perks to check what your mates are doing, where to get a heal, etc. Both seem like adequate solutions and that's great about dbd, as you said, everyone has his/her own ideas about what's efficient in a match. 👌
I’ve died on hook so many times because someone nearby was self-caring instead of coming for me. My time runs out faster than their heal but they don’t want to risk it, even if the killer isn’t near
@@whaaii I haven't personally played it on mobile so I can't give a strong opinion either way, but I know it has a pretty solid player base there. Could be worth checking out!
To every self care hater, it stacks with botany and desperate measures, this is amazing and is as fast or faster than a basekit medkit, even just self care botany is a good combo, all this being said though, base self care is awful and if you use it you're the worst type of teammate
But how many beginners (less than 100 hours) do you see running that combo? More often than not it’s just self care and three other perks that have no synergy with it.
Healing on edge map is okay just dont hide there lol you should heal wherever the closest safe place is, if thats edge map its edge map. Agreed w everything else though. Nice video. Except self care, its literally the Japanese meta to use it with botany knowledge. A heal takes two people, so with botany knowledge youre basically cutting the down time in hakf because a teammate can be working a gen.

My goal is to try to get as many others out. If I die and even one person escapes, that's a win in my book.

informative and entertaining video, well done !
Self-care by itself is a waste, but combined with botanic knowledge it doesn't only heal yourself faster but also does it for your team.
