It surely takes a lot of skill, patience and math to pull of a win like this. It's quite an achievement to take out one serious overpowered Pokemon but six. Most of us would make a counting error in how much PP the opponent used for multiple moves. Congrats!!
Very impressive. Though you have to admitt that some of these strategies heavily rely on the bad Trainer AI in the second generation and the bad movesets of Reds pokemon. Venusaur wouldn't always use Solar Beam in newer generations, so the set up agains it wouldn't work. However, this is still harder than doing it in other generations, as the Focus Sash-Endeavor-Quick Attack-Rattata (FEAR) strategy can also trivialize any boss in the game (unless they carry a priority move).
+Julien Schöpfer Agility starts with 30 max PP. Using a PP UP on a move raises its max PP by 20%, and PP UPs may be used at most three times on the same move. Therefore, 30 + ( 30 * 20% ) * 3 = 48. Maybe you should learn how to play the game before accusing others of hacking?
Julien Schöpfer 48 pp on Agility is not a hack, and Scyther learning Agility at level 5 is completely possible. The only obvious thing here is you don't know how the game works.
well u can beat your oponent since gen 5 with a level 1 aron tell me how easy is that from gen 5 almost all battles turn a lil bit boring if u ask me with all the changes and new type of pokes
FeedMoreNoobs It's pretty easy. Predictable behaviour of enemy AI has lead to pokemon speedruns that take out entire pokemon leagues and gyms with 1 pokemon on one run. If this battle was made in another gen, pikachu wouldn't quick-attack a gastly and thunder a cubone constantly, but the other way around. The good thing about this battle though, is that it lead to a great strategy used in multi: The use of stat enhancing moves, combined with baton passes and substitutes. That has lead to the epic videos you can see if you type "epic *insert pokemon here* sweep" in youtube search like "epic metapod sweep" for example.
flyingspagetti But was the Metapod level 5 when he swept the last boss in the game? Exactly. Sweeping a later generation game with the new fancy moves and items is one thing; beating a generation 1 or 2 boss with extremely low levels and old moves is another. Also the AI in the later generations are just as dumb as they're all programmed to always use the skill with the highest damage output. A later generation Pikachu would still use Thunder when it sees a Gastly and Quick Attack when it sees a Cubone, which means if you keep switching between the two, Thunder would still end up hitting Cubone, and Quick Attack would still end up hitting Gastly.
Now that I'm revisisting this video after so long I have the same question... Mr mime knows flash, so I guess part if the strategy was to use it befor batton pass to miltank, whose object problaby is a briht powder to lower accuracy even more...but for some reason that part is missing ...and things becomes weirder with how protect works in gen2, is like it's missing a turn
My favourite generation is 2, i grew up with pokemon diamond so i love it withoout any nostalgia :) not many people can say that about their favourite generation.
Joey's rattata + whitney's miltank + bugsy's scyther + the 4th gym's gastly + blue's new caught cubone (after you beat blue in lavender town he'll tell you that he caught a cubone) + the forgotten Mr.mime >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Red himself
+DemonicWarden I was expecting toxic and heal spam, since they were only level 5. But no toxic, nor heal spam. I'm impressed. You gained my respect. Now, just put set and I will praise you.
I would say this is worth a sub but this channel hasn't had any uploads in 5 years. This is very impressive though, as it shows technical mastery of the AI and how it works, and how it can be exploited
Actually if you want to beat Red you have to take a risk. With luck you can do a Lugia sweepCatch a Lugia and make sure it is base level 65. Gold version works best because Lugia can be found at the Whirl Islands at Level 70. After you catch Lugia, teach it a few TMs so that it can face the diversity of Red's team. Some can be found only in Kanto.Lugia's desired moveset: Aeroblast/ Zap Cannon (Yes, seriously)/ Recover/ Hydro Pump. You might prefer to stock up on Ethers and PP ups, because these moves have a low PP and even lower accuracy. Pikachu should be out after a Hydro Pump. If not, bring a Tyranitar. If you continue with Lugia, Red will always send out Blastoise. This is where Zap Cannon comes in. Then you face Snorlax. Now, Red will go full blast on Amnesia and probably Rest w/ Snore, so give Lugia a Dire Hit or two. Make sure it holds either a status-curing Berry (EX: PRZCURBERRY) or a Leftovers (which can be found on Snorlax in Kanto). That is because the only risks of status are Snorlax's Body Slam (paralysis) or Charizard's Flamethrower (burn). Burn Heal takes up one turn, which could be used for extra damage. Slowly you will be able to KO Snorlax and Espeon relatively easily, since you are immune to Mud-Slap and resistant to Psychic on Espeon's part. Then Red will only have 2 Pokémon left. Venusaur should be out with Aeroblast/ HM Fly, and Charizard with a few Zap Cannons and Hydro Pumps. It is greatly advised that you also bring Tyranitar and Typhlosion (if you chose the right starter) because Typhlosion can learn Thunder Punch (as we all cherish) and Tyranitar can learn Crunch (VERY important) and Earthquake
Wait how did you calculate when he was going to use quick attack when to switch to gastly and can use miltank and Cubone knowing he was going to use charm? Also why didn’t Venusaur just use sunny day to fuel solar beam rather than charging every turn and you using protect?
I laughed when I saw the dots from Red, it's like hey a level 5 team just destroyed your level 80 team and u just end like: ... then ... .... fuck you.
This is really cool. Not to toot my own horn but I found red to be quite easy to beat and I only had early 50’s and late 40’s pokemon. Is this just me?
ok 2 things did not make sense to me. why is "a 37 atk pokemon using 960 power attack = to a 592 atk pokemon using 60 power attack"? where do 592 and 60 come from? and how did your level 22 miltank OHKO a level 77 blastoise? i know how rollout works but that still seemed kinda impossible .. awesome vid, tho, as always :)
Harukoxd a max repel only works if the first Pokemon in your party is a higher level than the wild Pokemon. For example using a max repel on a level 50 charizard would mean that all wild pkmn below lvl 50 would not appear however wild pkmn above 50 would appear like normal
That was impressive. Even Red was speechless xD
Hilarious....
He will always be.
... ...
... ...
All this was all possible with pokemon crystals cutting edge AI
No it was definitely cuz he leveled that miltank up if it would have stayed lvl five no chance.
Miltank. Killing near godlike Pokemon at level five, then drinking milk over their corpses.
Mooo... MOo!!! MOOHWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
LinkMarioKirby #miltankisabeast
so now i dont have an excuse to say "oh well i was underleveled."
HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!!!!
I love how beating 2 lvl-77 beasts only increases Miltank levels from 18 to 22.
"and then Demonic traded his Miltank to Whitney."
but this miltank is whithouth stomp(sorry for my english,im brazilian)
Whitney's miltank is level 20, this is level 22...
@@natnew32 She fed this milktank some bad rare candy that levelled down instead of up and Milktank learnt stomp in anger
This must be Whitney's Miltank.
Claire's Kindgdra
I beat Whitney in a metronome battle with togetic using
Nguyen role play to attract clefairy and miltank
CheesyGranola exactly. Illuminati confirmed...
I beat Whitney with a Flaafy, too. It was female, I thunderwaved it, and I just went from there with thundershock.
I saw Joey's top percentage Rattata too.
If God ever played Pokemon, this is how He would've fought Red. He doesn't just kill your team; He humiliates you with level 5's lol.
hahaha so true!
+FeedMoreNoobs With 6 level 1 magikarps because he can win anything. Amen.
+Aaron Rosenberg no he will win but just talking too him
YoshisaursTheMinecrafter 92 That makes a lot of sense.
im satanic.....
Shitty predictions by Red.
Before watching the video: Oh, I wonder what he did?
After watching the video: Miltank... Of course...
This video just proves how stupidly OP Whitney was in our childhoods.
It surely takes a lot of skill, patience and math to pull of a win like this. It's quite an achievement to take out one serious overpowered Pokemon but six. Most of us would make a counting error in how much PP the opponent used for multiple moves. Congrats!!
If i just got beaten by a bunch of lvl 5 pokemon, My only words would be ... too.
If you faced a team of lv 5's in on your own, you would win because he exploited the bad ai.
This is one of the most inspiring things I have ever seen
level 5 challenge ???? STARCRAFT 2 TERRAN MUSIC ???? Sir you have just won the internet.
I’d be as speechless as Red too if my mid 70’s leveled team lost to an all level-5 team.
Wow this is awesome because it is a real smart way to battle by using the patterns of the CPU then making it use struggle good job there buddy.
Adam Burnett Ya we watched the video buddy
Before watching the video: No fucking way
After watching the video: :O.................what?
good job!
AJAJAJAJ DE ACÁ SACASTE LA ESTRATEGIA, SABÍA QUÉ TE IBA A ENCONTRAR ACÁ AJAJAJAJ

Karim??
So basically:
Miltank: *"Kaio-Ken x100!"*
In the words of Prof Quirrel:
"TROLLLLL IN THE DUNGEON!"
Am I the only one who got this Harry Potter reference? Lol
Cameron Sarfarazi Awesome reference
This would have been a lot better with the original audio.
Not really cause this video was sped up
cry harder
Very impressive and tactiful. It shows how technical and scientific Pokémon can actually be when you put enough thought into the gaming process
Very impressive. Though you have to admitt that some of these strategies heavily rely on the bad Trainer AI in the second generation and the bad movesets of Reds pokemon. Venusaur wouldn't always use Solar Beam in newer generations, so the set up agains it wouldn't work.

+FiboSai I agree, the whole fight was full of patterns.
+FiboSai fear really works? i mean i never really tried it, but really it would work? thought even the AI nowadays would see through it^^
+Metalhammer1993 Yeah, without priority moves they can't do a thing about it.
Don't forget how FEAR doesn't work if they have a Sitrus berry which is pretty common
Shut up nerd
Why did Venusaur missed 2 giga drains??
Whitney's Miltank would have done the same in level 1 alone... that fucking hell pokemon
Seriously if you guys think he hacked, then download the game online and try it out for yourselves...
+Julien Schöpfer Lmfao you really don't know how to play the game. Do you even know how breeding works?
What are you trying to show? You're wrong on all levels, and Bulbapedia agrees. Just give up lol, you already lost this argument. Utterly.
Julien Schöpfer 48 pp on Agility is not a hack, and Scyther learning Agility at level 5 is completely possible. The only obvious thing here is you don't know how the game works.
+Julien Schöpfer
Have you never heard of breeding, you stupid fuck?
whitney's miltank is gonna be so proud XD
"later generations made the game easy"
is doing a video in a game where the ai is so bad you can beat it using level 5s
I thought Gold and Silver were the easiest one's out of the series because you were a GOD by the 8th GYM.Plus I learned how to clone pokemon
yeah but figuring out a way to beat it using only level 5s still isn't easy
well u can beat your oponent since gen 5 with a level 1 aron tell me how easy is that from gen 5 almost all battles turn a lil bit boring if u ask me with all the changes and new type of pokes

It's a shame the boxes don't fully appear after Pikachu is beaten. I'd like to know what notes he's making.
Attack patterns
thats a cheap but damn good strategy
I know Red. I'd be speechless too.
This is genuinely amazing.
indeed
miltank is a fucking hero
Well Red got a well-earned "..."
Such awesome strategy
Epic. You are the greatest trainer of all time.

How did all those Giga Drains miss?
Now that I'm revisisting this video after so long I have the same question...

This video is so dam good lol! I think this video should have at least 1 million views lol
My favourite generation is 2, i grew up with pokemon diamond so i love it withoout any nostalgia :) not many people can say that about their favourite generation.
lol Diamond is gen 4
Grethe H tuften Yeah, and i started with it. Thereby my love for 2nd gen is not nostalgia. That was the point of the comment.
This is gen 2 Pokemon crystal, Pokemon diamond is gen 4
jameslong672 The point of my comment was that my favourite generation is not inflicted by nostalgia.
9:15 dam lol... This is why I always have a fighting and a ghost pokemon that knows a fighting move against a miltank lol!
This is the best vídeo ive ever seen
Joey's rattata + whitney's miltank + bugsy's scyther + the 4th gym's gastly + blue's new caught cubone (after you beat blue in lavender town he'll tell you that he caught a cubone) + the forgotten Mr.mime >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Red himself
I remember in the past i always had trubbles beat Whitney and her stupid milktank. Now i see why, it was op as hell
omg bro how much organisation did that take you
ikr
sorry to burst ur bubbles but the original person who did this was a japanese
+Chien is his nationality supposed to burst my bubble?
+Alper Yılmaz my bubble was bursteded
Chuck Norris can do it with a lvl.2 Magicarp.
This and StarCraft were my games at a young age. Loved it x)
champion red dislike this video
+DemonicWarden I was expecting toxic and heal spam, since they were only level 5. But no toxic, nor heal spam. I'm impressed. You gained my respect. Now, just put set and I will praise you.
I honestly thought this was a fake video before I watched it....but wow, this is very well thought out.
It's like using a lvl 3 zubat vs lances dragonites bucues lances dragonites will use agility all the time ween youll use poison fang all the time
Got no words to what I just have seen.
Hahaha Demon I don't play this game any more but I must say you have the coolest/funniest strategies for this game! Keep making videos like this! xD
I would say this is worth a sub but this channel hasn't had any uploads in 5 years.
This is very impressive though, as it shows technical mastery of the AI and how it works, and how it can be exploited
the Starcraft 2 music ("Heaven's Devils") earned this an instalike :D
Whitney pride right there
whitney would be proud of you
So, this means...
red got shrekt with level fives m8
IMAGINE OAK'S FACE WHEN HE HEARS THIS! XD
...what the fuck did I just watch?
Anal rape

I thought Defense Curl raised Defense only. Why would that increase its attack stat?
increases the power of rollout specifically
That was amazing! :)
I would say ... too if I had been defeated so poor 😂😂
Now brains actually beats brawls
Hiếu Vương Brawn*
Is this the Starcraft 2 Terran music?
What were the title of the music that were used in this video?
Dude, that was very amazing! How much time did you take to discover this strategy? Very cleaver!
Probably not much. It doesn't take a genius to figure out how the gen 2 AI sucks.
I'm going to predict sleep-->nightmare right of the bat
If anybody ever trys this make sure the bring lots of potions and make sure that all your pokes have sturdy
are you sure this is your strategy? i have seen another japanese video same with this with full of explanation
Never complain about underleveling again !
I laughed when I saw the dots from Red, it's like hey a level 5 team just destroyed your level 80 team and u just end like:
... then ... .... fuck you.
Wait why does rollout go before chaizard can attack?
I got a question, how u get to red with lvl.5 Pokemon?
Koopamoopa O'toole save them in the pc. Eggs. Go out and catch them at that level. Etc...
He either used Pokedolls or made his Cubone hold Smoke Ball.
Cool
thx
Lmaooooo who said he did
Lol stupid Red, can't even predict switches
wow the best strategy ever!!!! wooo you're the best man bravo!!!
'Like a Dragon failing to a Moth'
you only killed 4 of his pokemon, what about blastoise and charizard???
Did the ai run out of pp? I didn't think they could do that until gen 3-4
this makes red feel like a skrub.
10/10 for Terran music
miltank? whitney why you want to defeat red
I just... can't even...
Wow.
This is really cool. Not to toot my own horn but I found red to be quite easy to beat and I only had early 50’s and late 40’s pokemon. Is this just me?
Only took 3 years for Red to go from being the best, to being a piece of shit, lmao.
Could you please tell me what music you used? You have a very good taste in music.
Terran music from SC2 I think
Soul Caliber 2?
FannyPackMan100 no, StarCraft 2
Pokemon Trainer Jim Raynor wants to fight.
a real pokemon master..............
He was PP stalling in the beginning 😂
I think I saw another version of this a long time ago that was exactly the same, except that the in-game text was japanese...
This is the reason why trainer Red does not speak! 😂😂😂
Freakin amazing. Deserves more views...
Excuse me, what are those cool themes named?
ok 2 things did not make sense to me. why is "a 37 atk pokemon using 960 power attack = to a 592 atk pokemon using 60 power attack"? where do 592 and 60 come from?
and how did your level 22 miltank OHKO a level 77 blastoise? i know how rollout works but that still seemed kinda impossible ..
awesome vid, tho, as always :)
how'd you get there with those pokemons
Who ever red was facing was over levelled as fluff!!
Karimero, its that you?
how did he manage to get to Red anyway? lvl 5 pokemon through the 50 lvl something pokemon cave
those only work if you have higher lvl pokemon than the ones in the wild?
Lol how many more times is this question gonna be asked? All you need is a Smoke Ball to run from high level Pokemon.
o
Easy, finish all the game, capture that 6 pokemons level 5 and then use max repel until you arrive to Red.
Harukoxd a max repel only works if the first Pokemon in your party is a higher level than the wild Pokemon. For example using a max repel on a level 50 charizard would mean that all wild pkmn below lvl 50 would not appear however wild pkmn above 50 would appear like normal
CS Narrator: HUMILIATION!!!!
That Espeon shouldn't have been oneshot
