Wouldn't it just become more efficient? The only reason water affects electronics is because some components experience an unexpected voltage. I bet the only reason the temperature sensor stopped is because the manufacturer didn't expect the range and so did not spend the money on the range. Generally electronics are only rated to -40 because it is hard to test that low.
+Joe Wamsley the temperature sensor didn't actually stop the camera during the second flight. However I still think the cam might stop on low temperatures since batteries are known not to operate well on temperatures like 0°C, and maybe at this kind of temperatures (-40°C) they fail at all.

A little after 8:17 you can see lightning far far away. There's a thunderstorm happening so far away from the launch point but its so high up you can see so many things

What a journey the balloon and Cookie made, and you guys too-- to have to get visas to go into another country, and then to traverse through a swamp, WOW! Brave men! It was SOOOO worth it. You dont have 3G or wifi so high. Maybe satellite internet could do, but it would eat up the battery in no time and would increase the weight as well. And it would be amazingly slow and laggy too.

Skawzzle actually no, motion distortion is a visual distortion of the perspective i.e the camera which has a slower or slowed shutter speed and is moving at a quicked pace. If you notice they use 2 cameras one points down has the effect not the other. idk the speed of the ascend but if it's even a few mph thats about human jog pace. If you also notice when they cut to the drone looking at the balloon the ballon is also swinging lift to right at a good speed. This is essentially creating a panorama warp effct as the image produced is an image in motion moving both up and side to side. that's why normally the editor would time laps to when the ballon hits outer atmosphere because ride smooths out.
