I own 4 different hoodies from my crazy hoodie craze a couple years ago, American Giant, Reigning Champ, Lady White Co, and LA Apparel. I use them all for different purposes but here is my quick review of each. AG: Thickest, heaviest hooide out of the 4 but really long and utilitarian silhouette. LWC Super Weighted: Nice heft, beautiful silhouette, no draw strings and interesting kangaroo pocket, very expensive. RC: Great in between, definition of just a mid weight french terry hoodie, perfect for even cooler spring and summer nights. LAA: Best value, honestly a solid hoodie for MiTUSA but the hood is pretty small and doesn't have any draw strings.
Great review James, I have had similar feelings. I was also immediately surprised by the weight of the soft package when it arrived. It looks much heavier weight in pictures. I also grew to love it after a few wears but wish the hoodie pulls felt higher quality, the way they twist after a wash isn't my favorite. I'm sure there is natural variation due to the garment dye process but my kelp hoodie is much more of a standard olive green in real life vs the website. Stoked to support a local business from the mitten!
100% cotton is where it’s at. My A&F hoodie is soft but a poly blend that ends up being not very breathable and makes me sweat after like an hour of wear. Might just pick this one up!
@@JamesHerlihy Just saw Aaron Levine is launching his own brand on Nov 22 (via his IG) and it looks like he's working with the same team in Detroit for the sweats in his own line, something to keep an eye on!
I typically wear a tee under my "nicer" hoody (American Giant), so I usually don't have to wash it very often as it isn't getting "dirty." I have some 100% cotton J Crew ones that aren't too bad, and don't mind washing them every few wears as I normally don't wear a tee under them. I really like the color of the one you got, good choice.

Thank you & Thank for the comment! Sorry to hear about the color change. I think it’s about 95% there in my opinion.
For a hoodie, I personally only wash as necessary, as little as I can get away with. I'll usually wash my new clothes once prior to wearing as well.
that's good insight Thank you!
