What a blessing to be investing in family! And learning that life doesn't always go as planned is monumental. Pottery shows so many life lessons. We have been realizing that having things that we don't use for their purpose is a waste of what God has given us.
And I have been doing more quilting since my mom passed 2 years ago. She was an avid quilter and we have a number of her quilts in our home. Now I have her material and look for ways to honor her by making quilts. It's a good winter hobby (here in upstate NY) when we are inside more. Maybe it will become a too-hot-to-be-outside thing next year in TN!
You were wondering whether the “not enjoying new and precious things” is only Asian. No, I grew up in Germany, am 75 years young now, and I can’t do it either. I grew up with not much and precious items were appreciated but not used. I am still the same. My husband and I had some larger homes and I felt guilty because I questioned whether we needed the space. I grew up in a small apartment. I am still struggling with these issues.
@@sprinklewithsoilyour podcast was a wake-up call for me. Also, thank you for your kind words. I am going to serve the Christmas dinner on the “good” china. And I am going to enjoy it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
