In my youthful days we never used to buy Dharmavaram pattu sarees because their pattu was not good. Kancherpuram pattu was known for its quality and weight. Now I am glad Dharmavaram has picked up and making excellant sarees. I was surprised to know that 70% kanchi sarees were made in Dharmavaram. Ir is good that our people have picked up this art and developing. It is sad that industries are stealing away weavers from their traditional crafts in Kancherpuram.Any body can become a factory worker but every body cannot become a weaver. It is due due to lack of effort by our governments that we are loosing these arts.
