Hahaha leuk!
Great that you made this video. I’m just about to install the same zen 30 on our boat, and this (together with the excellent manual) is extremely helpful. 👍👍👍
Thank you! Still very good quality water. We have had some issues but they were all my own fault. Like making water in dirty water and not replacing filters soon enough.
Great video. Nice install. I do wonder about dumping all that extremely salty brine water into the anchor locker. I wouldn’t want to expose my anchor chain to so much corrosion.
Thanks! Thanks for the consideration! As you might saw on the video in the end. We can bring our brine hose out and hang it overboard. We have a wet anchor locker so when using our watermaker at sea. The anchorlocker is allready very salty cause of the waves.
Super Video - trying to order all parts that don’t come with it - is the threaded fitting for the little freshwater hose (6x8mm) for the plastic tank connection included? If not - what is it called? Or perhaps you have a list of the parts you use? Thanks again for helpful video
I did not buy much extra. The little blue hose and grey connection are included. As are a lot of connections for the bigger hoses. I just bought some electrical cable 4mm2, reinforced hose and a truehull with seacock🙂
Thanks so much for prompt reply, similar to you, my boat is in a very remote location and I’m trying to order everything beforehand to take with me. Hope the Zen is still working well for you.
Thanks! That was a really helpful video, received much valuable information. Like mounting the watermaker on top of something. I was considering hanging it, that obviously was a bad idea. Are you still happy with the ZEN 30?
Nice thank you. This is why we make the video's😊 And yes we are still very happy with the ZEN 30. We had some issues but all my own fault. Do not try to change the small filterhouse for a bigger one. They cannot deal with the pressure and will break. So get a good supply of small filters. You can buy the bigger filters and cut them to size. Do not half them because they will be too short. So use an old filter as a measurement.
Nice video! Does it have an automatic inline TDS measurement coupled to a divert valve to change product water going from sample line to tank? Or do you do that manually?
Thanks! No we don't have one. Water runs straight into our tanks. We do a check of the water with a handheld TDS once in a while. First check was (230 ppm)
Hi guys. After some time with the unit would you buy it again? Any issues you can share that would help a prospective buyer and installer? I am on verge of deciding on a watermaker for my boat and the Zen30 Is on the short list. Thanks.
Yes definately! Only obvious tips. Try to make water in the clearest water possible. The filter on the schenker is quit small. So you go through them fast. Do not try to swap the filters for bigger ones. I did it, but you get a different pressure and the bigger filter houses cannot handle it. So I swapped back to original. You can make small 5micron filters from bigger ones. But you cannot simply half them. So measure with rhe original filter.
Wow - what a project! And what a great informative and detailed video about the installation of your water maker - well done! Great job! In the very same compartment on our Scanmar 33 we store the Gennaker, but on the other hand we do not need a water maker yet! I'm not sure if I understood correctly but did you install a new water intake in the bilge?
Thanks Hartmut, no please do not take a watermaker if you are not traveling full time😀 We did place a new water intake. We did not had a big enough intake for the watermaker. Needed to be 3/4 inch and with a scoop facing forwards
@@SVTranquillity No worries, I do not have any intentions to install a water maker. There are many other things that have to be upgraded, repaired, replaced etc before that 😅! But your installation ist really an impressive piece of work!
Excellent video. I am going to install one of these so it's great to see just how easy it is to install. How long did it take you in total? Do you not have a TDS meter inline to test the water?
Thanks! Good luck with the project. We did it in five full man days. We live on the boat so could be much faster if you are not living on the boat. We do not have a TDS inline. We checked the first liters of water with a TDS meter by hand (230 ppm) I still want to make a three way valve to tap of some production water once in a while or put in a tds meter. But getting things here on Curaçao or when traveling is a thing🙃
Hallo, mooie presentatie!.
By far the best installation walkthrough I have come across!
Thank you Charles!
My God Bart , you’re a bloody genius !!!!
Well not really but thanks Mhairi!
Helemaal top Bart! Ik ben om! Ga er ook een bestellen. Duidelijke video, thanx daarvoor

Echt cool!
