Boeing is not just a design flawed… but it’s the top management that is flawed which causes the culture of bypassing and overriding safety concerns in every process from design to testing to production. What are you inspecting though? Airlines aren’t going to take aircraft out of flying duties and strip them down to inspect nuts and bolts because some guy on the tv said dodgy parts are being used. Airlines only take action if there are FAA mandated inspections, or the equivalent in Europe.

Assuming what these "whistleblowers" have to say is true, and assuming they kept semi-decent notes, it should be fairly straightforward for bureaucrats and airlines to track down which planes may have gotten non-compliant parts to conduct inspections/verification of claims.
