I've used non-studded Hakkapeliittas in the past, and they do work well. I'm curious... Down here in the lower 48, where I never really lived north of Kansas, Iowa, Ohio, PA and NY, I find that A/T and M/T tires work really well in the snow, but it rarely gets under 0 F at those latitudes. I don't know if the rubber would get too hard in AK. What's your experience there?
Stay safe out there!

My BFG KO2s were hard as a rock and very very unsafe once it got into single digits. They're otherwise great tires, but not in the winter!
