i wonder why andrade starts her twists late midair? shes almost showing off which is fine and all but not for the concerned fans. also someone pls tell her to stop going out of bounds.
because that’s the technique she has and it is the way it should be done??? If she didn’t make it like that you would also complain, i’m pretty sure 😊😊. Gymnastics is not about “showing off”, it’s about executing the best way you can a certain skill, as she did (even with going out of bounds), which earned her a well deserved gold medal
from what I've heard it might help you rise in the air more instead of twisting too early. and the "set" or when you thrust your arms up is important for getting more height. it's so exquisite to watch either way. her technique is the most flawless I've seen except for the pike down.

Notice the landings on these vaults? Most land outside the lines showing, sloppiness & imprecision. It is also an area of deduction for the judges.

Melnikova was a bronze medalist and olympic finalist on vault. But ok her cheng was a little off form i think she didn't have enough time to fix it.
