That was my first reaction as well, let's hope this is not an isolated event. Even if they only decide to get a lot of value in smaller sets and skimp on the larger ones, that will still make a lot of people happy. (sort of in a tax the rich kind of way?)
Or maybe a turtle. But there are other great ways to get your hands on turtles for not too much money at the moment. So I guess the parrot would be perfect🥳
I think that the green tile may be representing either a turtle scute or a piece of cactus, as that's what camels eat in the game. The set also looks really good for its size. Might be a top 10 Minecraft set. The value says it all. The 2018 Melon Farm was the same price and was considered great, but this set has double the pieces with a more substantial build and much better mobs and figures. This set and the animal sanctuary definitely show that we are in a golden age for small sets!
Yeahn another one! Thank you, again... I'm really fond of the way this wave catches the early moments of a survival world. Here, we have a simple beginner build. Quite nostalgic, in my mind.
This is a great pricepoint for a set. About the amount that almost anyone can afford. It can even get discounted if it's at a regular retailer. We recently had a 3 for the price of 2 deal, for sets of 20 dollars and below. Having basically a third off of these kinds of sets is even more amazing value, but we had to really look hard to find anything that we wanted as the selection of sets at that pricepoint is far smaller than the selection of sets over 100 dollars. I think it works really well if Lego can fill more of the shelves with smaller sets and sell in quantity, except for a few sets that are expensive. It might even be more profitable, who knows?
I've never played Minecraft in my life and I only get some of the magazine promos for the weird unique pieces the line offers and the most iconic mobs, but this one may be my first proper set from the theme, it offers so much goodness for its price, it's insane!
I just recently got the ocean monument second hand. I've wanted it ever since it came out. I'm glad the squid is no longer exclusive to that set. I can add this one to my water display that's surrounding the monument
This set actually looks insane! I'm not that big into LEGO Minecraft, but considering the prices for any sort of Pirate-y themed sets nowadays, this is a great value set!
I found this set on shelves the other day and I was perplexed: a smaller version of the old Minecraft pirate set? And for the price, this is pretty neat! The ship doesn't seem like a big compromise from the former version, I can see plenty of potential on this one as it is. Having another squid is useful too, hope the parts come to Pick-A-Brick online for more oceanic activity (and harvesting ink sacs).
Two new skins, a new mob, and a rerelease of a mob that was exclusive to one of the more expensive Lego Minecraft sets, not to mention one that's now 7 years old? Minifigure-wise this might be the best set in the entire summer wave
I am so shocked! I might actually select this as the one in the range I pick up. Its detail and price is awesome and figure selection is 10/10. Great compact review by the way!
I got this and Steve's Desert Expedition and they are such good sets for their piece count. Credit to you for getting me into the Minecraft sets. The mobs are the best especially the camels

This was quite common in older sets. At first I thought it was because they simply wanted each minifig to get an accessory, but I think it has more to do with having a replacement for if you lose one.
I, too, received 2 iron swords in this set. So I guess it's just an extra freebie. Others have said it too, but my best guess for the green tile is a cactus item to feed the camel. Okay I am noticing a trend of smaller but more playable sets this wave and I have mixed feelings. One one hand, the smaller builds feels less Minecraft-like, but I enjoy the cheaper sets to get figures and mobs. Also the Derp Squid is upside down. 😅
Why not both? If you can aford it, you can buy the smaller ones and the bigger ones and combine. This seems like a ton of value, despite the build being a bit simpler, they didn't skimp on the mobs and figures.

Less goo the squid is back
Big big hype
I really enjoy these figures it’s like I don’t know amazing i just think pirate figures look cool with there bandanna and the eye patch and the skin matches wow perfect
They're so good! The graphic designer did a great job
I know I’m late but I did get two of the iron swords when I got this set. :)
Ayy, very nice! Must be intentional.
@ yeah
wonder if after you can make whatever you want, you could make a pirate fleet in a water section, also a nether hub maybe IDK you choose what you want to do
Those both sound really cool!
you built the squids face upside down in the thumbnail NOOOOOOOOO 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I do like how it looks though lol
1:16 I had a extra one too so that probably means this is a relatively common occurrence.
Seems like everyone has had an extra!
I believe lego included two iron swords for each of the pirates, my set included two as well so I don't think it was a mistake.
I'm guessing not updating the set's inventory was more likely the mistake! Probably a last minute change
Or maybe some employee was feeling really nice and just added an extra part for the robot to put in the set
I just want to say, I like the old style of cactus so much better
Hey, fair enough!
Is that a trial chamber in the background
It sure is! 👀 th-cam.com/video/Eehv8-vR8VY/w-d-xo.html
i just bought this set today and i got an extra sword too! i also got the $10 set with the phantom, and that one unfortunately did not come with an extra weapon. so conclusion? i don’t really know tbh
I'm guessing it must have been a last minute change. But a bunch of sets also come with extra tridents, so who really knows! 😂
